  1. Try slewing further down on the HUD. Because of the terrain in the area, sometimes the TDC box falls very far in the valley ahead, in which case it is too far to activate a SPI. If you try to designate a point closer to the aircraft, it should work. Not sure what may be the problem with the engine, but sounds like a controller mapping issue. Maybe you have the wrong controller or more than one controller mapped to the left engine.
  2. All animations are drawn on a scale of 0 - 1 (or sometimes -1 - 1). For example if we imagine a gauge that indicates values form 0 to 100 in the cockpit, a reading of 50 in the cockpit would mean the animation argument is at 0.5.
  3. I just made an order with fast internl. shipping to Los Angeles. Within a few days is what I'm looking for if that's possible. Thank you!
  4. zahry, how quickly do you think I could get the extension in Los Angeles? Willing to cover shipping cost as required of course.
  5. Yes, it is, but not very easily. Start here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1401035&postcount=5 If you aren't able to work it out, let me know and we can help further.
  6. Because they are supposed to be getting them soon in the new form of "RVV-SD".
  7. Well, the original article says: "The Russian Tu-95 Bear-H strategic bombers were equipped with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles and were followed by U.S. jets as they circumnavigated Guam on Feb. 12 local time—hours before President Barack Obama’s state of the union address." Most people reading this would undoubtedly believe that Russian bombers with actual nuclear warheads were circling over Guam. That is a pretty irresponsible piece of news to put out there without anything to back it up. I just think it's a clear attempt to draw some attention to the article, which is really designed to pedal a political point, and make sure it gets picked up by the media. That's what caught my attention in the first place. As far as I know, even during the Cold War Russian bombers were not normally flying around with nuclear warheads on board. It did happen under certain circumstances maybe, but I would be very surprised if they were doing it today.
  8. The only reference in the article to the bombers being actually armed are some unnamed "defense officials" who said they were "likely" armed with Kh-55 or Kh-55SM missiles. The official Air Force comment made no mention of this at all. IMHO, it's quite a stretch to claim they were armed with nuclear weapons as a fact and have nothing to actually support the claim.
  9. I don't understand where they got the information that the bombers were actually armed with nuclear missiles. Sounds like sensationalist reporting to me. If you check the original source on The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative news site, they mention Obama by name like 9 times. I've no doubt the flyover happened, but cannot believe they were actually armed and there is no official confirmation of it that I can see.
  10. If you look into the case Wags linked to earlier, you will find the issue is not at all limited to designation names, but also the appearance of the helicopters themselves.
  11. After a few runs, I got 182.xx with no WEP. Was your 174.02 with WEP?
  12. The capability was added in the source code, so will not be available until an update is released. Given that 1.2.3 is already being tested in final form, it will not include this. So most likely in 1.2.4 or maybe some intermediate update.
  13. Unfortunately we can't release any media until certain papers are signed. Some PR to raise interest and appease curiosity is not worth a big lawsuit in the long run. Sooner or later, even if only after release, there will be plenty of screenshots and videos to go around. I do understand your frustration as a fan, having been in your position for many years before, but again, there are practical considerations that overrule our desire to release information.
  14. I don't think there's any more sense in me apologizing for the lack of updates and media. Certainly this isn't how I would have liked to handle the PR aspect of the project. However it is still moving forward and the legal issues are being resolved. As I had indicated earlier, we had already completed most of the development we planned for the open beta release some time ago, so there has not been much to provide updates about since December or so. The release delay has given us time to add a third party campaign, which is being voiced over now and will probably be completed next week. The manual has been polished up. We've also added a couple of forum members with direct Huey experience to the test team to help us make final adjustments of the model and make sure it is as accurate as possible. Of course there have been some tuning of the flight, damage, and systems models. Some adjustments have been made to the 3D model, in part based on feedback right here on the forum. For example we added the extra plates around the outside of the engine, removed the nose pitot tube, added the circuit breaker panel by the pilot's left leg. Still don't have the pilot's Reflex sight, but once again this was planned to be implemented after open beta release. Finally, we are well under way with the external stores model, which is now swinging around sporadically under the helicopter, but it's WIP. I hope you can simply take our word that the legal issues are being resolved. We will not be making any more comments on the matter as it's simply unnecessary and inappropriate on the public forum. The project is not under threat, just delayed longer than we had anticipated.
  15. Pretty certain it's just a matter of looking out toward the water in once case and inland in the other. In the first case, the engine is only rendering 1-2 kilometers of land and its objects. In the second, it's rendering about 80 kilometers.
  16. They do now. ;)
  17. Had a good time doing a few laps with a friend. Thank you for the mission! Hopefully we will soon be able to enhance the experience further by providing smoke generators for the Mustang. :)
  18. It's just where that particular map chart ends. The only workaround is to use a different scale.
  19. You can use the zoom in/out commands or add optical zoom to an axis on the HOTAS.
  20. Hmm, what do you mean your view runs away from you? Once you pan to a particular angle, the camera should stay in that position until you pan it elsewhere. There may some camera movement as part of the "natural head movement" model reacting to G forces and moments, but you can toggle this on/off any time with the LWin+F1 command. Also there are snap views, which you can customize, but only 10 of them.
  21. Once you get 1.2.2, make sure to install the updated training missions over it. They have not been incorporated into the builds yet, only released for manual download.
  22. Is there a particular reason you're running v.1.2.0? There was an audio problem there that broke playback of triggered messages, which is what you're seeing. We are now on v.1.2.2.
  23. To be clear, the instructions themselves are proceeding, as in you're able to move from one step to another, but only the voice is missing? What version of DCS are you running?
:book:
