Frontlines Georgia Campaign
Paganus replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Combined Arms: Frontlines Georgia
DCS World > Mods > campaigns > CA Frontlines - Georgia > Doc -
It doesn't work in CA. We've been asking for it so maybe someday...

Is it normal to burn the engines out ona fast run?
Paganus replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
The engine of the Sabre models a partial compressor stall. When it happens, lower the throttle all the way until the temp drops into the green. Increase throttle slowly so the temp stays in the green. You should be able to achieve full power again if you're patient enough. -
Frontlines Georgia bug reports

My guess is there are units hiding inside a zone you need to keep clear. I was able to get through the mission. -
They must think it's close enough if they are using it for training. Good job RAZBAM

Frontlines Georgia bug reports

Mission 5 This has the ditched target aircraft trigger blocking. -
Ingress on the deck and pop up.

I know this isn't the CA wishlist, but it's worth repeating here, if they could turn on the kneeboard for CA it opens up many great possibilities for providing SA to players.

Frontlines Georgia bug reports
Paganus replied to feefifofum's topic in Combined Arms: Frontlines Georgia
Adding to feefifofum's report Mission 2 -Spitter 1-1 is not controllable. When you lock a target in the Shilka you get a computed lead pipper like an MBT. -

Frontlines Georgia Campaign
Paganus replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Combined Arms: Frontlines Georgia
Use the \ + F10 + menu to activate Air assets. Make sure you arm them in the mission planner before you start. Set an altitude, speed, and waypoint after they activate, or they will stall. The first mission has you in control of a lot. You really don't have time to crew anything anyway. I think some of those missions come later. Don't give up on it after 1 of 11. -
I wouldn't write off old Krusty just yet. Sounds like the dock is in worse shape than the ship. I think the Admiral will sail again.

Frontlines Georgia Campaign
Paganus replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Combined Arms: Frontlines Georgia
I’ve only just started this campaign, but here are a few first impressions. The Campaign briefing is short, and to the point. Overlooking the obvious typo’s, it does convey the situation, and your role. There is an external 26 page PDF describing the campaign, and each mission, along with the in game briefing screen, with a few pictures, and the mission planner. You need to be experienced with CA! The initial battle has you controlling multiple land, and air groups with multiple objectives. Having a lot of CA time myself, I was able to get on top of things, but someone not experienced in CA would be lost, and most likely very frustrated. There’s no learning curve here. I would not recommend this for anybody just starting out in CA. The voice overs are helpful for keeping situational awareness, and sound good. All the old CA problems are still present. Unit pathing, bad tactics (BMP’s firing AT missile at infantry), unresponsive groups, and other issues will challenge the players patience. -
One word of caution. All 3 you listed are in early access, or in the case of the Tomcat, soon to be in early access. Make sure you understand that means they are not complete, and we have no idea how long it will take them to become complete. If that concerns you at all, then I say get the A-10. I know you didn't list it but it's a great module if you like mud moving. If early access doesn't worry you; If VTOL doesn't excite you, you might want to pass on the AV8. If you take away VTOL it's a slightly faster, less capable A10. Although I find it to be an excellent module, so far. That leaves you the Tomcat and Hornet. The Hornet being the most advanced, and multirole is hard to beat, but you know the HB team will be pushing the limits of what DCS can do. Also having the ability to have an AI, or live RIO should be a real kick. While the Tomcat will have limited ground attack ability, it won't really compare to the Hornet in that respect. If that's what you're interested in, stick with the Hornet. It boils down to, are you more into AA, or AG? Do you want the most modern aircraft available, or are you good with more dated systems? In the end, you should get them all.

That's because in the flight sim world we tend to break everything down into the 1 vs. 1 dogfight. In reality by the time the K entered service the war was almost over and Germany was hurting. Their best pilots were gone so they were sending up mostly rookies with few hours. They were attacking bombers while P-51s were defending the bombers. They had massive supply chain and quality control issues making it hard to field full units, while on the Allied side they were getting better skills and greater numbers every day that passed. On the ground, the Tiger and Panther were far better than the Sherman, but the situation was the generally the same. If you think the current 109 totally outclasses the Mustang, your head will spin when the 262 arrives.

Thanks for this mod. It helps. This A10 mod is the only one I know of that tried to simulate raw audio cues from the receiver. Maybe some brilliant mind out there can apply it here, there, or everywhere. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=110840

The AP has multiple modes. We need to know what you are doing. Are you just hitting the A key? If so you are in full route follow mode. The AP will try to put you on course at the correct altitude and on the path line. This often results in a wild ride unless you are already on it. The available ACS operating modes include: Route-following and Landing; Combat steering; Attitude hold mode (retains current pitch and bank); Barometric altitude hold; Barometric altitude and bank angle hold; Emergency leveling mode; Radar altitude hold with automatic terrain avoidance; Momentary override (programming) mode. LAlt + 3 is your friend. It will use the AP to trim the plane level. It's worth looking at the manual.

We need to be able to make customizations in the autoexec.cfg, or the keyboard.diff.lua, or some other way inside the Saved Games folder, so they stick across updates.

Search for MAC (Modern Air Combat, I think) and... yes.

Look at your windows event log. If it's not giving you any clues, it's hardware. initial thoughts are: USB - some device, maybe not even a controller. Heat - Are you running any heat monitors? Power * most likely guess. How big is the supply for the load, and how old is it. You could try lowering the clock on the video card. That's where I would start anyway. DCS is demanding. It can cause a system to stroke out when other games dont. Good luck!

Turn them off in the settings on the server. -
If your expectation is a complete and fully functional module, you should not buy during the early the access period. Early access is for those individuals that don't mind missing, and incorrect features. You say "I provided a list of just the basics that have been skipped over since release, including many module-breaking ones and you have a little phrase that addresses nothing." Your list is irrelevant due to the module being in early access. Early access by definition means it has NOT been released. Furthermore, I fly the module with regularity, there are no "module-breaking ones". That is a clear falsehood. You add, "When was the last update of any kind of significance?" when if you have been paying attention, at all, you know this module has been updated regularly. Clearly not to your satisfaction. You're welcome for the additional verbosity on the subject, but you and I both know my original answer summed the situation up quite well.
