  1. ^ Updated the first post with new images of the skin... ^ If there are no more general remarks I´m going to uplaod it to the ED user file section. Thanks again Hans-Joachim and JST for your input. I adjusted the colors as they were indeed way too bright to resemble RLM 75. Please let me know what you think.
  2. Yay! Great news! You deserve a break and we deserve the MiG for self flagellation.
  3. I have used a list that I found online with RGB-values for the RLM-colors. Your example seems a little darker than mine, but I like that. I´ll give it a try when I can get back to it.
  4. Thx! The grey on the wings is supposed to be RLM 75 vs. RLM 76 on the fuselage. I might choose to adjust the tones slightly as I progress.
  5. Hi everybody. Fw 190 D-9 of 4./JG 2 Fw. Werner Hohenburg in January 1945 - a machine with characteristic camouflage pattern and markings that participated in "Operation Bodenplatte" before it ultimately crashed. 24. 12. 2014 - Optional textures with and without swastika - Specular and normal maps have been added to the skin for better detail - corrected visible texture seams and added more detail ---> Download V4 from ED <--- Download ---> MORE SCREENSHOTS HERE <---
  6. Definitely +1
  7. I agree, a very good suggestion. Even the simple option to deactivate auto-configuration would facilitate mapping of new devices or complete remapping of the setup. I recently had to do this and a large part of the time was spent just removing pointless and conflicting button and axis assignments.
  8. Thx for clarifying.
  9. Thx. (I was under the impression that the tiny NTTR screenshot from the newsletter looked as if it was made in EDGE, although not much is visible. The lighting and everything looks much more refined than before.)
  10. I mean the grapical representation, the cloud models so to speak. You could be right, but while in the Caucasus screens there are those that look exactly like the current ones every single time, on screenshots of the new NTTR I did not see them even once, irrespective of weather condition. I think SkateZilla mentioned somewhere that EDGE would/could improve all things related to rendering/graphical representation. Perhaps the current state of integration of EDGE does not yet include the new clouds... That´s why I´m asking.
  11. One thing I noticed is that in the Caucasus screenies in EDGE, the engine uses "old style" clouds while in the NTTR screens we have had new clouds for a long time. Are the new clouds simply not in EDGE yet and all we have seen from the NTTR (recently) is not actually rendered in EDGE? Or will the old map keep its trusty clouds?
  12. Nice job! Even on the old map it looks gorgeous.
  13. VERY much appreciated! I love seeing stuff like this.
  14. Perhaps there´s an intersection? ;)
  15. I´ve never really used it like that, but I still think it is the most underestimated part of DCSW. Surely it adds a lot of depth to ground battles when used as you describe, but in my eyes the biggest potential lies in additional players defending target zones. Imagine 1-3 players defending an airfield with CA, constantly repositioning and hiding units, convoys etc. so they don´t stand out like a bullseye, and a couple of MiG-21s taking off to intercept the incoming attackers...
  16. Hi, you should first check the backer section of your account. This is where all the available rewards for your account are listed after ED took over the project: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/backer/
  17. This here happened on the VA-server, too. (from ED screenshot thread) Great fun!
  18. Ah, that was you (I´m the guy in the Dora, but I didn´t write the chat message). I was indeed wondering how you ended up like that. :D
  19. Yes, I meant that in relation to what Aburro and Blaze said. Even if there is no update to World I´d still be happy with some in depth news. :) Wags´post could possibly be interpreted both ways, although it sounds more like the first.
  20. Haha! Nice!
  21. It would still be awesome to receive "only" an update on many of the questions/projects that are cooking behind the scenes.
  22. Love the fidelity and general look of the cockpit. Also, beautiful texture work.
  23. Some scepticism is always adviseable. Otherwise one is likely to fall victim to (self induced) hype and remain disappointed in the end. 2014, while not explicitly confirmed (unless for 1.3.0, which became 2.0.0), is the time frame that´s been hinted at several times by ED and Testers. If they are confident enough to announce the 109 for November 2014 (and the maps along with it since May - thx EagleEye) I would assume that this is equally true for the rest of their plans for the year. It gives me hope that we will have some more nice things to play with before christmas. Perhaps the christmas sale is what ED is aiming for...
  24. Great, I´m trying to learn dogfighting in the Fw 190 and F-86. Now with the MiG-21 (& Hawk) it´s just gonna be more on my plate. And after what I´ve seen I dont´think this one is going to be any easier neither.
