It´s not in the flight manual, but for what it´s worth I spotted a mistake on the Fw 190 product page 1/4: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/dora/ In the paragraph "Flight Dynamics Model" immediately at the top you can read "The flight dynamics of the Fw 190 D-9 are a further develops the Advanced Flight Model principles started with the Su-25 [...]"

DCS simply has the most mature community ever.

A newsletter has arrived. Sadly, it would seem that it only contains information which was already available on the forum. Guess we´ll just have to keep waiting.

What a clever inside joke ;)

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

Very nice update! Your work is equally impressive. Looking forward to some screenshots of the new textures.

Ok, sorry, I really didn´t pay that much attention to it. It might be just the kicker that´s needed to show that successful development is possible for 3rd parties, even if they are small teams who work in more than one job. The funding might have to acquired beforehand by other means. There are other teams who have gone sown that road.

Was it really that bad? I recall it as being relatively civil - mostly some people were sceptical wether they could achieve a satisfactory level of fidelity due to government restrictions and all that...

Were Portugal´s moments of glory that much longer at this tournament? :devil_2:

Virtual Blue Angels Cockpit Camera: Beaker's Delta Show
upupandaway replied to aaron886's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Wow, if this is a free time project you did just for your virtual aerobatics squadron, then I am very impressed. What about animations? How far do you plan to go with this? EDIT: Hm, I posted it in the DCS F/A-18C thread, but it was deleted... -
Because the Bo-105 is naturally stealthy. It will pop up and attack upon completion. ;)

Virtual Blue Angels Cockpit Camera: Beaker's Delta Show

Very impressive flying, especially around 5:00 and after the merge at 8:30! I find it incredibly hard to rejoin a formation so smoothly and you do it like parking a car... :) What I also find remarkable is the quality of the cockpit. The HUD, pilot, general geometry and textures leave a nice impression and it even has reflections on the canopy. I know you said it wont be available, but I´m curious as to who made it. Guess you can´t say - privacy concerns or external restrictions? -
Lool, I looked at this thread twice, wondering what I had overlooked because I couldn´t believe it...
-
Absolutely agree, but I just noticed today how convoluted this whole system actually was and still is despite the "matrix". My concern is not to get the absolute most out of this from ED, but to find some form of compensation that actually makes some sense and doesn´t seem as arbitrary.
-
The whole reward system has been in place for quite some time now. There is no definitive answer to anything yet? I can´t help but think that ED knew already what was coming back then when they set it up on their homepage...
-
I´m seeing something very different... Sorry for being so frank, but what the heck is up with this botched matrix system that Ilya came up with? It would seem to me that I am at a disadvantage just because I backed the project at the very beginning, pre-matrix so to speak, since I am at the reward level of 97$ and I only get to choose one digital reward??? I know this is officially still a beta, but wasn´t this whole mess supposed to be unified in the end? Could I please get an answer to that at some point, because unless some information is missing here, this is unacceptable.
-
What about the digital rewards -> DCSWWII alpha access vs. DCS Fw 190 D-9? Should one pick the Dora or can anything be said about a potential alpha version yet? (I realize that the issue isn´t really pressing at this point)
-
I´d like to know, too. It´s known that ED have to clarify their own position on this before going public and it´s still a while until Aug 5, but does the DCSWWII-Alpha Access still have any significance as a digital reward? Otherwise I´d choose my DCS Fw 190 D-9 reward.

Check his twitch.tv-page - there he states that he is having issues with his recording hardware.

Straight Up Question: Can ED Take Constructive Criticism?
upupandaway replied to lunaticfringe's topic in Chit-Chat
This thread could serve as a useful reference for when this particular problem might pop up again (and it will), but I fear it´s not going to help very much in the end because in so many cases a small number of people are very resistant to any rational argument. It´s certainly a good time to bring it up this issue. Bug reports aren´t even the biggest problem, or are they? I personally think (contrsuctive) criticism should always be encouraged and ususally there is in fact an open ear for the communities issues. I find it baffling at times how easily this is forgotten and a simple discussion gets turned around just because somebody deliberately ignores any hints given to understand the current situation in its specific context - and that´s something which is not likely to change, especially if this community is to grow in the future. Problems with regard to form or content of criticism are generally not just limited to this community. From friend´s accounts I know that this is also a problem in teaching: despite all qualifications and standards in rating systems you will never have a definitive and satisfactory end product like in engineering, but instead it is an ongoing (and frustrating) process of chanelling people into the "right understanding"... I don´t envy them for their job... ED is the central entity onto which people project most of their expectations related to DCS World and no matter how talented and educated ED´s guys are and no matter how hard they work - they can´t make all of the people happy all of the time. Add to this everything being "subject to change" and you are guaranteed to have some people voice their deep frustration over what they consider a betrayal. Both "sides" will have to work continuously to bridge these issues and most of this effort will always fall to the mods. That´s why we have to have them around. -
It´s a fairly easy math excercise, but this thread still makes more sense for passing the time until release of the next modules than most other ways to be encountered on this forum...
-
I think Cobra confirmed (some time ago) that their target version is still 1.2.8 and Dolphin even gave a vague time frame for the release. What else do we need to know?! They still have one week left to be formally on time.

I love the effect, too, it´s great for impressive screenshots, but I think it will cause some problems in a game like DCS World. If you are visually tracking an aircraft and your eyes are focused on this distant object, in reality your eyes will need only a very short moment to focus on the instruments in the cockpit to check on something and then go back to tracking the distant Bandit again. This very rapid eye movement and change in focus is something the DoF cannot simulate adequately, so I fear you will be stuck with a rather static effect and much slower transitions between the two "planes" (focus point) and additionally, it can probably only be controlled by head movement, not your eyes... As much as I like the effect, I´ll probably end up deactivating it.
