Hold on to that thought. I´m just gonna skip over your subtle attempts to provoke me. Simply claiming that a certain opinion isn´t valid just because it contradicts your own doesn´t exactly prove a point. Please, my initial criticism was specific, (more or less) constructive and it isn´t aimed towards you personally, so why does it aggravate you so much? If you want to criticize the point I was trying to make, then refer to either the conditions stated with the KS-campaign or the FAQ which I mentioned both. Otherwise, let´s better just agree to disagree. Please, I invite you to read through my posts and see if their tenor is as you described. Additionally, I have explicitly stated at multiple occasions that such criticism isn´t equal to a lack of faith in the dev´s work and talent. Let´s not get carried away with this.

It should make a difference. Can you not see a valid point in this at all? Or better: Why is it important to conceal any and all discontent? I´m actually expecting lots of interesting news and releases in the near future. Nevertheless, until then I take issue with what´s (not) going on in this particular forum section.

I remember you being one of the people confronting this issue a lot. All this has been talked about before, so I´m not gonna jump on this particular merry-go-round. This is their forum. By definition it should be THE place. I´m simply using it to voice my opinion because under the current circumstances I want it to be heard. Anyway, I don´t expect this to make any difference, but as I stated them my expectations are in no way set to high. Period. What´s kinda sad is that after many cool updates I feel such disappointment again because Ron is right, although it probably takes more than 30 min to prepare an update (depending on its content). What you state conforms precisely to the guidelines that KS has established for appropriate dev behaviour after a project has been funded.

To be fair, I don´t think it is all that petty. We can assume everything is going more or less according to plan on a larger scale, I don´t doubt that. There probably isn´t much to show off right now, I get that. Also, you can see now that some of the people who didn´t have access to the backers section are now finally being served. That´s fine, too. I´m not asking for strictly weekly updates, but this is the second time there has been complete silence from RRG for a prolonged time. Kickstarter is pretty clear in its own FAQ about what developers should do if there is no exciting new stuff/problems/delays to communicate to the backers. In addition RRG have clearly defined their own update policy from the beginning of the KS-campaign. What bugs me is that they think they can just switch their policy to one that is more similar to what ED is doing whenever it is convenient for them. In ED´s case I don´t mind. We all entered that deal on their terms and there isn´t much you can say. This is different with KS and RRG. One should not forget that KS is about participation of the community. The degree of accountability is different here. This is why I don´t fully accept the fact that in the meantime they refuse to write even the shortest "apologetic update" to let us know what´s going on. How about "EDGE/map integration is taking longer than expected", "the renderer stopped working again" or "NDAs are keeping us from posting about new features or images"? That can´t be asking too much.

You mean where A-10s make bomb runs on alien invaders with full afterburner like in Crysis 2 for example?! ED has one considerable advantage over all those mediocre cash grabbing schemes: DCS is not in need of a reboot/remake because they suffer no lack of original ideas and fresh content. Which is not say that it won´t benefit from a visual overhaul.

This is more related to updates in general, but I´d really like to know if it´s still to early for RRG to say if there are going to be such beautiful bare metal skins for the 109 (and, by extension, also ED´s 190). I just wonder when that is generally decided during the development process. They do not only look great on the P-51.
