  1. I have had a WH set for years, and got a CM2 a few months back. The CM2 has plenty of buttons/hats for the A-10C in DCS, but obviously not a 1:1 like the WH. Right grip outer panel: * 5-way hat for coms (the one that has rotary encoder ring at base of hat). - I use the push button for Discord, and the 4-way for A-10C/SRS * Top 5-way hat speed brake (up/down/press unused) * Bottom 5-way hat (fwd/press/back = boat switch, up/down = china hat) Right grip front * 5-way hat = coolie (press for left throttle button) * Analog stick = TDC Left grip front 3-way switch for flaps (up/down and press unused) Left outer grip * Rotary cw/ccw/press = pinky fwd/back/center for lights LASTE switches spread across bottom row of spring toggles and rotary dials. (A little wonky after using the 1:1 WH for years) I use the square LED buttons behind each throttle for idle/cutoff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If you have an iPhone or iPad, there is an app for that... http://kinotracker.kinoni.com/ I have not tried it personally, but it is new player in the space.
  3. I got the new control panel within 1 month (ordered 8/31 and arrived 9/25). Depending on you place in the order queue and items ordered and can take longer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Wait for the new AMD performance numbers coming in the next couple of weeks. Zen 3 has the potential to leap ahead of Intel in single core performance (absolutely vital for VR in DCS). If it doesn’t, then Intel will still be there. With regards to getting a handle on AMD vs Intel, with PBO (precision boost overclock), you don’t have to do any tweaking to get the best performance. With Zen2 the only thing to get right is adequate cooling (to get the highest boost), a quality motherboard (VRM power delivery), and RAM that will run 3200-3600 based on the motherboards QVL list. It isn’t worth fiddling with voltages/multipliers/etc based on reviews from the major YouTube channels to get the most out of an AMD platform. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I would have to split my vote between the Huey and the Mi8... If you want pure “stick and rudder” (ok “cyclic and collective”) flying at treetop level blasting Creedence while diving into an LZ recreating moments from “Chicken Hawk” by Robert Mason (a must read), then the Huey is what you want. If you want to do the above while sipping vodka, the Mi8 has more cushion for the pushin. It’s a Mustang and the Huey is a Miata. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. I have the TM F-18 grip (and a few others) that I use with my Virpil base. It is a great option if you want a 1:1 experience. If you want something more versatile the CM2 (love mine) or Alpha (I don't have one yet) are great options. The analog brake lever is great for planes that have them, and the additional buttons are always welcome.
  8. The rule of thumb to keep an SSD at top speed and to avoid performance issues is to never use more than 70% of its total capacity. A full DCS install (if you own all maps) is pushing 280Gb. So plan accordingly.
  9. Amazing! Thank you WAGS and ED. You made my little Grinch heart grow 3 sizes reading this post!
  10. I have the original T-50 base, WarBRD base, CM grip, CM2 grip, VFX grip, original extension set, s-curve extension, and CM2 throttle. I have only had 1 issue with the T-50 base that was resolved by opening it up and tightening a specific screw that had come loose after using it for more than a year. All it took was a quick email exchange with Virpil support. I have read a lot of horror stories from other customers, and I am not trying to downplay their experiences. I am just pointing out that those with zero (or a 1-off minor issue) rarely post giving the impression quality control is worse than it really is.
  11. Another game (named after the second global conflict with online appended to the end) had an interesting solution. I haven't played in years, but I assume it still exists... A gray icon marker would only appear if you looked in a certain direction for a short period of time (to simulate focusing, and to prevent rapid scanning looking for icons vs planes), and if you looked away it would vanish until you repeated the process. It is an elegant solution that solves the billboard icon issue, and at the same time addresses dot hunting. .02
  12. Check the control mappings for the “cheat” section. Not all planes use the same key combo for auto-start. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That is an amazing deal for a Warthog in good condition. Hell it's a great deal for one that needs a little work.
  14. Try to get the RAM up to 3200 (or at least above 2400). DCS needs high single thread CPU performance, but you also need to move data between the CPU, RAM, and GPU. Any gains you can make between these components will help FPS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Check your axes settings for each module and make sure that nothing in the TrackIr column is mapped to the rudder (or anything else other than head movement). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. See if this helps. I put it together to help visualize how to set things up. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4269827&postcount=7
  17. As I understand it, it is related to the code that 3rd party devs hook into being limited until ED updates the SDK with new missile modelling/functions. What we have now is brilliant and a testament to how good HB is at building within the limitations of the game engine. I would also wager they are one of the main driving forces behind ED finally giving attention to missile performance and code.
  18. Check out the YouTube channel "The Air Combat Tutorial Library" His work is based on another game, but it 100% applies to Warbirds and dogfighting.
  19. For the Su25T you map the "Schkval" to the X/Y axes on the throttle under the Axis tab in the control setup. You will likely need a user curve as the control input can be wonky (imprecise) with the stock Warthog. Here is a thread about setting up the Su25T, but the same applies to applying a custom user curve to any module. Some modules work better than others. So start with defualt and then tune until you can get it to where it works for you.. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=95729 A common upgrade is to drop in a new slew stick produced by another DCS player. I did this to my WH a while back and it is exponentially better for all games (especially DCS). https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200198 https://deltasimelectronics.com/products/thumbstick-slew-sensor-adapter Also not every button position has a button output. Many of the buttons on the WH Throttle have positions that do not send a key press. The LUA files for some modules allow for this, but not all. You can modify the game input files (complicated if you have never done it before), or you can use helper software (TARGET or 3rd party like Joystick Gremlin, Joytokey etc) to create button outputs for these blank positions. An example of this is in the thread below. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171098
  20. I used an Eyoyo 11.6 from Amazon for years with no issues with 2 MFDs Velcro'd to the bezel. I now use 2x8 Eyoyo. I only used this brand due to it being the cheapest option with an HDMI port at the time I purchased them. I am sure the monitor you picked out will be fine. If you ever plan to use a 3rd MFD for the Hornet, 11.6 it won't be big enough. You will need either a larger montior that can work with 3, or a 3rd monitor for the 3rd MFD. DCS uses the combined desktop resolution with multiple monitors/viewports. I do not think it will work with multiple video cards, but I have never tried it. Maybe someone else will chime in with experience using 2 video cards.
  21. Is the barrel too wide? Perhaps gently squeezing the barrel connector to tighten it will help.
  22. Attached are 1:1 Warthog stick mapping files for the T-50 (not the CM2 version) and the WarBrd bases with the CM2 grip using the Thrustmaster USB VID/PID identifiers. They are as close to a physical mapping as possible (moving the POV to the top hat) These were made using Virpil Software version 200325 I included a screenshot of the logical to physical button mappings for reference. DCS will still display the stick as a "Right VPC stick" in the mapping window, but it should still pick up the default Warthog mappings built into the game. virpil_profiles_200325.zip
  23. What are you trying to accomplish? Are you looking to have it map automatically in DCS? To do this you will need to map 1:1 the Thrustmaster WH buttons (POV, trigger, TMS, DMS, CMS, etc.), and then set the USB PID/VID to the TM identifier (044F 0402). Then DCS should see it as a WH stick and the default mappings will work. the CM2 will have 9 additional buttons and the lever axis (and twist if you have it). This would all need to be done in the Virpil software. You also have to decide if you want the physical layout to match the F-16 stick where the POV trim is the top right most hat, TMS far left (POV on CM2 grip), and DMS in the center (below the top hat on the CM2 grip) etc.
