  1. t's not a problem, as i said, in mission editor is Ground Speed (not including, wind and other factors and is simply the moving speed of the aicraft relative to the ground) still in knots if i am not mistaken, though in game is indicated air speed, in knots, but including wind and factors.
  2. I though km/h was roughly 1.8x kts? So 190 kts would be close to 500 kts?
  3. you are fine, if my game is set in miles, feet and knots, you are as well, cuz the speed you wrote in your original post is what i get in game and mission editor. which is, 290 Kts in ME and 190 IAS in game. Start to play around with the options i told you and see if it works. Let me know if not and i'll take a look back, but so far, worked for me on your mission.
  4. Yep pretty much, in my mission the KC-135 is set exactly to 350 KTS and in game gives me about 230 IAS for the conditions i set.
  5. For the AWACS, found it, in your advanced Waypoint options, just bring AWACS on top of the Orbit action option, AWACS options need to be first, doing so the AWACS appears after in the menu.
  6. Haven'T test for the awacs yet, but i can tell your for you tanker is simply you need to raise the speed in your ME, in game it's IAS while in ME is not, it's Ground Speed, (small checkbox besides with GS i presume stands for ground speed, not sure), so in game speed won't match the ME, for exemple for me it's flying at 203 IAS ing ame and in the ME i made it 310 instead of 290
  7. Startig to feel Rotary lover's pain/sadness/frustration The passed year, last 2 years has been a huge step forward in DCS, finaly got 2.5 and lots of new modules, on my side, my so long dreamed F/A-18 Hornet finaly came out, started to dream to get this sexy stingy bird in DCS from day one i discovered DCS in early 2010. God thing is, the Harrier came out a bit before and made me cool down and gave me something cool to play with until the buzzing bird comes out. F-14 is about to come out, heard news not too long ago for the F-15, now this week news on the F-16... but even though been a while i haven't flown helicopters and i am starting to feel their left out souls. Would be more than enough time helicopters module comes out now. I feel like, we'd have Apaches, Cobras, Twin-Hueys, Kiowas, Hinds, Commanche in game, and us, fixed wing lovers, would still get stucked with stuff like, the Mustang, Spitfire and Dora... Got too say it's one of the reason i stop flying Helicopters, got a bit tired of the outdated old Huey, which requires me to hire as cheap labor, a Midget and ducktaped him on the Skids, with a TV dish in his hand and trying to use him as pre-historic radar system. Gazelle is cool, but with all the aircraft coming with Links and such, it'll make more sens now, a some helicopters that'd benefit from it and more versatil and which more possibilities would come out as role, at least the Hind is being worked on, Russian, but it'll be able to at least carry more than 4 missile and 1 passenger. :) Good thing is, we have the Huey well know for vietnam era, so if one of us in old warbirds gets shot down it'll be able to recover him as SAR role... mabe not, since the Huey never had the chance to get a working winch system to be used as SAR :( All this, to say i am with you flying lawnmawyer guys! Keep the faith « flop-flop » lovers!
  8. From what someone already replied to me a while ago, CCRP/AUTO is usualy used for area target, most of time pre-defined before take-off, bigger targets, like building and such, due to the less precise, or of course with laser guided, as it track the laser. Going for a CCRP/AUTO run for a tank and drop the bomb at 15 000 ft, chances it'll miss by offseting, specialy if windy a lot i presume. Or also, using High-Drag delieveries benefits from it, since it's lower altitude so less offseting. CCIP is more precise, cuz it's done diving, so less lateral seperation, les horizontal chances of being draged off, and you pretty much give it a push. CCIP bombs dive in more step, les drag surfaces i think But agian, that's how i see it.

    HARM

Ah come on Matt, must not be that complicated, pretty much all games like Battlefield and such has them, just copy/paste their codes :P Kidding, keep up the good works, after all, with the so many systems in the Hornet, rather it takes you guys time to came up with them, if not, we'd have shit load of things to learn at the same time, now at least we can learn little by little :P Better this way for my « Getting out of RAM » brain :) :pilotfly:
  10. Sorry sir, i enver seen you posted, haven'T came in this thread for while. :( As you could foudn out, the IL-78 is not listed as canadian aircraft, so i usualy, to avoid integrity check fails on servers, instead of adding the aircraft to another country, which causes check fails, i simply add the country in the liveries description.lua file for a country that operates that aicraft, so for the IL-78 i made it for Ukraine, so you get a Canadian liveries for for a Ukrainian aicraft :)
  11. Sometiems i am laysy, when i don't know for sure the Carrier heading (since in F-10 it's True North and on the HSI is Magnetic North) i simply change my HSI to True north and it does the job, once i'm on the carrier i can now know it'S heading in Magnetic Noth by switching back. Works on any maps and no need to remember each offsets for each maps and no need to use any rules on any maps as i am flying. But agian, iu'm laysy i let the Hornet do the maths.
  12. I rather leave warnings sound as is, so when Low Fuel and Bingo pops i'll hear it, as otehr said, quite simle to either select in FPAS highest waypoint or any which is not a entered waypoints with coordinates as this Home Fuel thing will warn according to the selected waypoint distance si if empty waypoint is selected, it'll simply not warn you.
  13. Damn i am so much holding myself up for upgrading my rig, Wags graphics always makes me jealous :)

    HUD FOV

The only way i'Ve found to shrink is, but can't remember how i'Ve done it in VR, if i loaded in non VR, adjust then back inVR, been a while as some of the comands seems not to work, easier with Track IR. So you can try what i mean is, without any head tracking and how i'Ve done it when i was using TrackIR: RCTRL+RALT+NUMPAD* or RCTRL+RALT+NUMPAD/ to set the HUD symbology as i wanted, i then used the zoom with NUMPAD* or NUMPAD/ then saved the customed view, pretty much as David said

    WIP KC-135 MPRS

Good to know, so now it'll be more of a pain to refuel in turn formation while trying to press the radio menus in VR without moving too much out of the pre-contact area to extend the drogue ending up redoing the radio menu options a few times :) Or like the other night in MP i was trying to pre-contact on right drogue and it never came out, never realised the guy on left drogue had aborted refueling as he was still flying there, so all that time i was looking in front on right drogue, the AI was thinking i was on left drogue :S
  16. Thanks for this post, it was driving me nuts a bit and thought i was doing something wrong on my bird setting. So in other words a quick workaround either in mission own created or on a server, is simply create a waypoint with the UFC of your actual location once on the carrier or the carrier's location when going to reach the carrier, so it'd fix the issue for a while at the speed the ship is going.
  17. DD mostly answers it all, i jsut can add a few things, first, the good side of having Beta and Stable, once you've updated Beta and you are ready to update your Stable cuz latest patch are stable, it won't redownload it, it'll copy files from your Beta version to your Stable version, though, can't say if it works only when both versions are on same SSD as it is how i am configured. As per liveries and mods, how i work it out, i use OVGME, it allows you to make setups for different versions of DCS but most, you can assign a single folder of mods/liveries and points it to 2 different DCS versions, so my mods are located only once in my OVGME folder and it'll simple point that folder to DCS and DCS Open Beta, quite simple to use.
  18. You realise OP was or still is a real pilot and totaly knows this is a sim and not real life and the difference between real and virtual? Second, on my side, since i started flying carrier ops back then in FSX early 2007-2008 with the Hornet and Super Hornet, then DCS with the Hornet, if i haven't done over 3000-4000 landings on the carriers i did none, when i left FSX i earend the badge for 2000 landings which i was mostly practicing patterns on the carrier, so i am pretty well ease on the Carrier, but sometimes, it's fun to have alternatives to change the eue sight and do different stuff and sometimes i love landing on airfields, but having the possibility to create a FCLS scene would be great even though PAPI's are back in DCS after a whole not being working and which glideslpe is a bit different. ;)
  19. Yahhh a well bubbled canopy to fit my ego lol kidding :)
  20. Dunno, i can'"t confirm, but from all videos i'VE seen it never seen to have any machanics system, just someone pulling it down or up, but again i can be totaly false but don't hate me :) And if i remember, last airshow i went in 2015, the static Hornet that was in display and we could sit in, had the canopy up (no way, really you'Re gonna tell me:) ) and the ladder was up and there was normal aircraft metal staircase system on wheels there instead.
  21. As i listed, change the bottom line for: countries = {"FRA, UKR, RUS, USSR, USA"} Though USA, FRA are useless unless you change the .lua to specify which country uses the MIG-29S, in any cases with th line i wrote you, you can select the MIG-29S as Ukrain (MIG-29S is available for Ukriane) if in blue coalition with the US and France for exemple, and the livery will be available to Ukraine since you speficed UKR in the description.lua of the livery. Remember that by default, the Mig-29S is available minly for Russia and Ukraine (can't remember if otehr countries has tje S variant, i know Germany had the G one), so easiest bypass is simply to allow the liveries to be seen for one of those two countries. In otehr words, you'll have a Ukrainian Mig-29S with a French livery :) This little trick is what i do to be able to select my favorite liveries on public servers, as i add USA to my Canadian liveries on the line i showed you, so when i select a USA Hornet online, i can select the Canadian default Hornet liveries.
  22. Don't wanna hijhack the OP's subjet, but i'll simply agree with you, Heatblur will do an amazing with the Tomcat, as much as i loved this bird when i was a kid, grew up with G. I. Joe. :) But, as much as nice it'll look, not sure i'll get it, 1st, the Hornet is my favorite bird ever but most, i tried once back then in another Sim i won't name, a F-14, and, the massive frame around the HUD is a total turn off for me, makes me feel claustrophobic. I've been dreaming for a Hornet in DCS for so long, earl 2009/2010's, no way i'll cheat Betty for Jester :P This module is so nice, i enjoy as much watching replays and landings than actualy fly it, in VR this bird is just amazing, sad i cannot see and enjoy my helmet. :P :pilotfly:
  23. Thanks for the awesome guides Chuck! Merci beaucoup :)
  24. Because the airplane itself is not available for that country, easiest would be to edit the description.lua file of that skin and add any country the mig is available for. Been A country of course int eh coalition you are. EDIT: if you know how to edit, you could edit the description.lua file of that French liveries, and at the bottom of the file, you get a line that should look like: countries = {"FRA"} You could edit it and add Ukraine as country, since it's in the same coalition (Blue) as opossed to Russia. So it would look like. countries = {"FRA, UKR"} Or if you want it for Russia smply add it as well countries = {"FRA, UKR, RUS, USSR"} Editing the .lua files to add the M-29S to France is a bit more complicated and not sure if it makes pass the integrity check on servers.
