It blinks OPR next to the RWR when jamming, i.e. OPR SAM2 as seen in the video above

Doesn't make sense at all. If I nearly miss something, I've still hit it right? Correct term would be a near hit.

Jet engines run better in cold environments?
Depth replied to Megagoth1702's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Cold air is denser than hot air so it makes sense that a turbine would be more efficient on the ground due to the extra oxygen content. But do you get a higher service ceiling on a cold day? And when looking this deep into it, does rain increase efficiency during flight as it vapourizes and expands in the turbine? -
Freespace, oh god yes. A game you should try is Battlezone 2, a science fiction mix of real-time strategy base building and fps/tank warfare. Bit old and there is no Source Code Project like there is for Freespace but extremely unique. I have never found anything resembling it.

You do a half-loop over the intended target and fire upwards so the shells *fall* on the target.

While waiting for the other engine to spool up, yeah? :P Never mind, I'm just being goofy again

The economy in the west is based on growth. There has to be new products or services all the time to keep everything from collapsing under its own weight (economic crisis). As we need resources to grow the earth cannot support us with its finite supply. While prises rise the rich remain rich and the poor have to suffer for it. A hard reset might not be far away

Hahaha right... Just can't remember ever seeing anything resembling this in the sim

I usually turn on the engine AC generators when turning on the inverter and battery at the start of the flight. Learned to do that after countless times of the plane going dark when shutting off the APU  (I wonder if real life pilots learn the plane by jumping in and flicking buttons until it works.. probably not)

That's completely disgusting. Is this what the world is turning into? Conscription for the males and prostitution for the females?

What game/sim is this from?

Hahaha what the hell happened when the wing fell off? Did they get shot?

Go to the link to download the full game then use your retail CD key to activate it :) http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=135&lang=en

Upgrading graphics card on my laptop: Help needed
Depth replied to blackbelter's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You should reconsider spending money on an old notebook. As mentioned the cpu is not powerful enough. A computer is only as good as the sum of its parts and this can be compared to putting racing tires on an old rusty pickup truck. You will need a new laptop sooner or later and pouring money on an old one only means you'll have less to spend on the new. -
Upgrading graphics card on my laptop: Help needed

Socket 1366 is getting cheaper by the minute but note that they are going out of production to give way for the new high end 2011 socket and might become unavailable if you wait too long. Give me a budget and a website and I'll get you some parts :) -
Upgrading graphics card on my laptop: Help needed
Depth replied to blackbelter's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Even with a decent graphics card you'll still be bottlenecked by the cpu, and as far as I know the cpu is welded into the circuit board. A core i5 laptop with 6 gigs of memory and a pretty good graphics card doesn't cost as much these days, unless you really really want to use Macintosh. -
This. Once the CDU has finished booting up it'll start aligning. It starts with a counter at T = 0 that should count up to T = 4.0. While it's aligning another number pops up next to it which counts down. This is the accuracy of the current alignment and is supposed to reach 0.8. If it's set to NAV mode before it's set to T = 4.0 0.8 it'll be degraded and you won't have full support. When it is done you will see RDY flashing at the top. Also note that moving while it is aligning will degrade it.

Yeah someone should make a mission where you fly for an hour straight to get to the designated zone then chatting and sharing stories with the JTAC for 45 minutes before being relieved by Hawg2 and flying back.

Thickest carbon steel I've welded was S420 grade steel 200mm/7.8 inches thick during the construction and mating of the the Gjøa rig. Because it was positional welding it had to be done manually with 1.2mm flux core pipewire. Needless to say it took a while but there were never any problems and it all went really smooth. Given an open horizontal weld I don't see why it would be a problem to weld 400mm steel with thick high output electrodes or an automatic welding machine, provided the engineers do their jobs to find a counter to the heat contraction of the steel.

To be fair, if the great pyramid really was built in 22 years, they would have to have placed one rock every 9th second, day and night.
