There is a bug where a tiny spot on the airstrip causes a collision with the landing gear. I haven't experienced it since a few patches ago but it's likely to assume that they haven't gotten all of them I just tried a 100% load pushing the nose down as I take-off. Hit 200 knots before I left the runway, nosewheel was fine. Regardless, when you are below stall speed with a positive AOA and the engines at the rear of the aircraft, it's going to push the nose down. It shouldn't be there if it's not built to take it

Weren't you trying to map the throttle button to F12? So F12 would engage autopilot?

Only sensible thing to do when damaged is to RTB You could dive bomb but then you'd have to release at a very low altitude to get any accuracy. The A10 would stall immediately when exposed to the g-forces needed to pull out of the dive. I think your best bet would be to strap on 18 MK-82s and do some carpet bombing.

Welcome :) Did you try also setting the game mode controls to F12? I'm not sure if the tutorial missions are sim mode. I'll try recreating it.

DCS is the only sim in the world to actually render the BLU-108 submunitions :D How accurate is the unguided CBU-97 vs. the guided CBU-105? Edit: Having some fun like a kid with a magnifying glass. Easier for the emergency personnel to reach you on the runway, yeah. Had a few scary moments, one of them was strong winds and high seas landing on a floater. First try the rig slammed the helicopter upwards as it was coming up on the wave, second go the pilot waited at the top of the wave and just "dropped" it down as the rig passed the wavetop. Other time was when there was a lot of turbulence and rough winds on-shore. Felt like a rollercoaster heading inland when suddenly the pilot descended extremely rapidly for some reason. I mean extremely rapidly. One of the passengers got sharp pains and complete loss of hearing on one ear that slowly returned over the next few weeks. Other than those two times I love it. I always sit on the front row so I can look at the instruments :D

Ridiculous as it was, the stats in single player is linked to your account in multiplayer. There wouldn't be a problem if they had used the guest account, or even the cheats that come with the game rather than a trainer Oh sorry, that damn Depth guy is hijacking the thread :poster_offtopic:

If it really was an emergency situation like the airbase being under direct attack then I assume you'd just have to take-off without even announcing it if your life was in danger. If everything is getting scrambled at once I doubt it would be a smooth process if everyone also took off at once.

When I go out to the north sea the helicopter pilots always use the entire length of the runway at both landing and takeoff. Sometimes they even do a vertical takeoff to a few metres then go down the length of the runway.

When you buy a DCS title on steam you get the cd-key. You then download the game here, fully patched, and use the cd-key to activate it. The game is 64 bit and so incompatable with steam (steam opens a .bat file which then runs the game) so you'll get no steam features in the game whatsoever. The installer is easy to use and you get a little flexibility with where to place it (highly recommend placing it on an SSD :) ) Oh and when you buy Black Shark, I do believe the cd-key also works on Black Shark 2. I'll look into that.

The SABOT detonates by impact and there's not enough resistance to trigger it. Whereas the BLU-108 is triggered by sensor. I doubt the shaped charge would accomplish much but the BLU-108 skeet has a fragmentation casing for taking out personell. I assume that against a soft target it would be slightly less effective as it would be shooting it with a light machine gun.

I think you'd have better luck with linking a tank simulator with DCS.
