  1. You're absolutely right. I haven't thought of that. The cursor would have to snap to the interactive cockpit element to prevent that. Toggling cursor on and off is ok but it's not very handy either. I'd prefer to have option to disable cursor as long as I hold e.g. mouse button 4 (the one on the side) while simultaneously using scroll for zooming view. Right now I'm using Shift (slew push) + TMS UP/DOWN on TH Warthog. The slider would be handy for fluid zoom change but binding if to zoom often makes the view jiggle. It's like too sensitive and even when it's not touched it generates micro input.
  2. Thank you. Indeed, this is how it works. If I may suggest something - it would be great to have scroll wheel zoom working also with cursor enabled. Zoom enabled when the cursor is yellow (i.e. not hovering over interactive cockpit element), zoom disabled when the cursor is green (scroll used for input control). Of course it should be optional (toggle on/off in DCS settings).
  3. On the same subject, is it now somehow possible to zoom in/out with mouse wheel while in cockpit view and using full 6DOF TrackIR? I'd like to have a possibility to zoom scroll while the mouse cursor is not over scrollable knob or dial.
  4. I'm talking about Su-25 (basic version). CCRP stands for Continuously Computed Release Point and that's exactly what this system does in Su-25, even if it's a very simple, non-sophisticated version of it.
  5. It's a hybrid of CCIP and CCRP. It works the same as CCIP Post Designate for F-16C or CCIP Consent Release Mode for A-10C. You put CCIP pipper on target, hold weapon release and follow the simplified flight deviation indicator until the bombs are dropped. There is a training mission for it (#5). There are no special bindings.
  6. I played this mission today and I experienced this problem as well. The carrier was not visible from certain distance. It showed up only when very close. It looked exactly like on the OP's screenshots.
  7. Will pre-order (discount) be available for DCS on Steam as well?
  8. @Presidium I think it would be helpful to add information on the suggested additional mods in your first post.
  9. I have copied it into: [DCS main folder location]\Bazar\Liveries\uh-1h\ and it works. I like the skin. I enjoy the mission set very much, although to be honest I thought that it will be released as a campaign. I would also appreciate answers to questions posted by @Mistermann above.
  10. Thank you. I was familiar with Option 1, but this method is not very useful (requires to review all triggers). Option 2 - really nice, although the layout of the dictionary file also makes time consuming to extract the content I'm after. I guess I'll stick to screenshots for now.
  11. First of all, let me say that the option to review the radio messages and dialogues that has been added to DCS some time ago was a great idea. To expand it, I'd like to suggest adding a possibility to save messages history to txt or html file. It could be useful for training missions (to some of us). Right now I'm taking screenshots to be able to refer to some information quickly later but this is obviously a bit time consuming. null Alternatively you could add option to copy the messages history to clipboard. Unless there are some other convenient ways to export this?
  12. I just bought it and completed the first mission. I'm really impressed. Few weeks ago I've completed my A-10C training and this campaign will be great to refresh and verify my knowledge and also to get used to the TK version. I guess it takes a special skill to make a 1h30m training mission (with 80% spent on the ground flipping switches) where the player is not bored. Great dialogues and voice acting. Hats off.
  13. I did this mission twice (that's how much I enjoyed it ). In both cases Biff's landing was weird. His approach pattern is off, he lands on 21R instead of 21L and after landing he plows though dirt to get to 21L. First time I thought that it was my fault taking to much time to leave the active runway but he also did this the second time when I cleared the 21L in no time.
  14. You press "SPACE". Ok, seriously now. If you can manage F-16C and F/A-18C modules, you should have no problems with FC3 aircraft, since they're DCS' "easy mode". There is no master arm switch. You just change the master mode to A-A or A-G, lock (if necessary) and fire your weapon. Obviously some weapon types require some specific conditions to be met. I highly recommend that you do the training missions. By default DCS has only the training missions for Russian FC3 aircraft. For A-10A there is an excellent flight school made by CFrag: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3315446/ Or watch the tutorials on YT. Grim Reapers covered all FC3 aircraft.
  15. Are you using the СЕРИЯ КМГУ-МБД release mode? I think it's a go-to mode for MERs.
  16. Thanks. Just to avoid confusion... We're talking about square outlined in red (like below), right? Is this area that will be available in full on the release day? Does the rest of the map shown (large rectangle divided into six squares) have any significance? Or is the square in red the final, planned map size? Also, it's clear that this map will overlap with the Syria Map in some small extend: (my rough estimation) I wonder if it will be ever possible to combine two maps (load them simultaneously) to expand mission area...
  17. I hope this will evolve into AC-130 one day.
  18. I've just completed this mission. I saw this thread earlier and I was worried, but I had no problems whatsoever. Sure, the lead is rather jumpy, his flight altitude is imho too low at times but everything is manageable. I enjoyed this mission very much (best mission so far). Despite its length (75 minutes I think) its not boring at all since we're flying in formation and the views are great. Open Beta 2.7.17.29140. PS. One remark regarding the campaign in general though. Whose idea was it to create the FARP base next to the high voltage line?
  19. I'm glad I could help. I was doing some more bomb runs yesterday, because I wanted to see if 5000ft AGL and 20° dive can be done. It can, but the key imho is to perform the roll in in a way that you won't lose (too much) altitude before lining up with the target. That's the third attempt in the video below. Other very important factor not to overlook is the aircraft speed during bomb release. According to the mission briefing it should be 380-400 KIAS. It's now my primary focus just before the drop. If I'm slower - I'm aiming a bit behind a target. If I'm faster - a bit ahead of it. It's definitely easier this way than trying to correct your speed just before the release. Other than that, if you're using TrackIR it's also worth to take notice of your view angle - meaning if you're perfectly aligned with the reticle (similar as to using an iron sights). That's what caused the "drift" to the left in the 1st attempt, I believe.
  20. Well, I gave it a try, although I'm a bit rusty with F-5E. Btw has the FM been tweaked recently? I don't recall this jet being so wobbly, unless that's what several months of fly-by-wire flying will to you... 20° dive bombing just for you: Almost by the book. Almost, because it was another attempt and I started the roll in higher. But it's worth to notice that actual 20° dive on target was established around 6700 ft. But overall that is also my feeling that the 5000 ft AGL recommended in the training is too low for 20° dive. Or it depends how the roll in is performed. It's possible to lose like 1000 ft just before 20° dive is established. Just to be clear I'm not able to score a direct hit with very attempt although my bombs land inside the circle (almost) every time, provided that a dive angle of 20° (or higher) is established. But this is not a pinpoint strike jet, so I guess it's unreasonable to expect this kind of accuracy. BTW I tweaked the training scenario, so I can start in the air (set the initial altitude in ME to your liking, after mission start adjust the reticle and fusing and you're good to go). F-5E free fall bombs training.miz
  21. Video confirmation:
  22. Have you seen this?
  23. The revealed map area does not cover the things you've mentioned. You've posted in the roadmap thread yourself so you should know better. No obligation, just my opinion. Am I allowed to share it even if it's different than yours? Or should we all just smile and clap?
  24. Honestly, I'm just disappointed that valuable resources are wasted on this map right now. To me this map makes currently no sense whatsoever in DCS. Considering DCS being a combat simulator and the available (and upcoming) modules. Like mentioned above, so many modules from the Vietnam War are already there and several others will be available soon. It's like a no-brainer. Or do Taiwan. So many more interesting theaters... I'm sorry but that's just the way I see it. Fingers crossed for the team, but this is a very strange decision, also from the business point of view and potential sales.
