  1. That still doesn't answer the question: "What's in it for ED?" Unless there is a financial incentive to do so, why would they spend time on it?
  2. What I find confusing is that the patents (or at least the ones I've seen) only pertain to vibration as a method of feedback. I don't see why force loading, which is mostly what we want, would infringe the patent.
  3. This project always looked good to begin with, but now it's really shaping up into something spectacular.
  4. How does VR zoom work? Could it be used for aircraft spotting?
  5. Just don't plan on wiring up the X52pro stick to a teensy or anything hoping you can do away with the saitek electronics and the need for the throttle module. I've tried, I couldn't figure it out, the only example anywhere is with the regular X52 which has completely different wiring in the stick. My X52pro is still in bits because I can't be bothered to put it back together when my attempt failed. Save yourself the headache and just accept that you are going to be either stuffing the stick base electronics in either the MSFFB2 base or the throttle base. I ended up putting a thrustmaster FLCS stick on my msffb2 instead (which is a well documented and comparatively easy mod to do).
  6. I was the one who reported them.
  7. Can I ask what seat that is?
  8. My concern is that the dry clutch system will create sticktion.
  9. Would be great if you guys could collaborate with Sgt_Baker and his ultraMFCD project to get all the video exports in as well. A one stop solution for all cockpits would be fantastic.
  10. I know it's a longshot, but I'm using the TARGET software to make the warthog stick and throttle appear as one device in BMS. Would this still work with the gunfighter?
  11. Will the warthog adapters require modding the warthog stick, or will the warthog stick still use the threaded collar?
  12. 4 posts above you, the creator himself explained why the mod is now redundant.
  13. Probably a similar number of people who voted "yes" thinking that it means more modules instead of more realistically taking up time that could be spent on something else that more people want.
  14. I'd rather you spend your time on more interesting modules. Spending time on an LHA and large utility helicopters means we aren't getting cooler stuff sooner.
  15. If they supported blender, they'd have two tool sets to manage and update and they probably don't even use it themselves.
  16. It's been tried before, a full sized knob is too heavy.

  18. Nice.
  19. Then I guess I've got egg on my face but I think I've figured it out. I don't download directly onto my gaming PC, I use a laptop at work and then copy across. I have done a fresh install on my laptop recently, but because I can't access my programs folder over the network, I have to copy it to my (laptop) user folder and then onto my main computer. At some point it must have overwritten an existing copy (most likely when I copied it to the user folder on the laptop since the Caucasus are there too) or merged with files that weren't deleted as skate said. In my memory it was pointed out ages ago in a thread that the map was natively accessible by opening a new map in the mission editor. I know I haven't knowingly modded it in because I don't actually know how to mod it in (I've always just assumed that it worked for everyone), but I have long in the past experimented with copying across the whole 1.5 folder to decrease download size when installing 2.0 and then running the update command followed by the repair command in the updater (I know I don't need to do that now since DCS automatically finds the existing files).

  21. That could easily be done with springs and linear actuators, it's also been done using springs and door magnet locks for a crude force trim system on an X52; or if you just want to change the center position, a leadscrew moving the (rigid) follower on a sprung cam system (with the actual cam attached to the stick rather than the base). The problem is that neither are much good for anything that's not FBW and won't give you the instant trim needed for helicopters.
  22. I'll say it again. I haven't modded anything and I know I haven't. It was a fresh install the day after the gazelle was released and has only had regular updates since then. If it matters to anyone, an unmodded 1.5 was already installed on the computer but they WEREN'T installed to the same folder.
  23. I haven't modded anything.
