  1. Fwiw, mine was during SP
  2. Can confirm this is still an issue Happened to me yesterday while in the CPG seat and (while spinning in circles) I could still have George PLT AI increase and decrease altitude
  3. While working on a few Apache missions, I've done countless cold starts last week (on latest OB). No problem at all here Maybe post a short track file showing your problem?
  4. Ok, I'll be the one to point at the pink elephant in the corner In times where one needs an additional mortgage in order to purchase a GPU: My no.1 wish for DCS: Performance improvements
  5. Had to look this one up. Forget that Vietnam map, you have my vote for the MC-15
  6. Can't wait for the Apache cockpit to get manned. 1st person body models look great Regarding the new and improved lighting testing for the PG map. I assume it will be, but just to make sure; will these improved features eventually also find their way to 3rd party maps, or will they only be implemented on ED's maps?
  7. Knowing ED a bit, there has to be some sort of shocker teaser in there Afghanistan map? (Would not be a major "shocker" as it was already teased last year). Dynamic Campaign? (Would sure be awesome to see it come in 2023, but it's not really suitable for a juicy teaser graphic) My guess (hopes) go out to: "Vietnam map" (We all know it's hanging in the air.... )
  8. Thanks @Iron Sights So, "hiding" your Apache at a ~5km distance (and in between cover by buildings/trees) is not completely and utterly absurd/unimaginable, up to the point that it would break immersion then
  9. Oh really? I thought I've read that they are relatively loud, compared to other helo's
  10. Thanks for the idea mate , but I'm more interested in knowing if my mission is within reasonable range of what would be realistic in real life. Making the mission work (in this case ensure that the player is not detected, unless I want it to be) is definitely not the problem. There are many different ways to achieve this. I merely wonder if it's at all remotely realistic that a hovering Apache at low altitude (behind trees or buildings), would not be detected by someone on the ground standing 4 or 5km's away. Or would we be talking 10km's or more, for someone to not notice an Apache. Edit: Also, aside from DCS, I'm just honestly curious about this
  11. I'm mostly curious on the sound detection when in a low (tree top) level hover, though I can imagine that's difficult to answer. I'm building a night time mission, where the player needs to observe a target area (village) without being detected. During testing, I noticed that the FLIR zoom range is actually quite limited. I mean, I had to get within approximately 5km's distance, in order to properly distinguish infantry units from other objects (and obviously I know exactly where to look as I created the mission, so it will be much more difficult for someone new). When you look at Apache FLIR video's on YT, most of the times you see the "soon to be erased targets" walking around carelessly and completely unaware of their inevitable fate.
  12. Tnx guys Hopefully we'll see some of these basic functions added soon then. Would love to get a proper FLIR signature from stationary vehicles. Currently they first need to drive for a few minutes.
  13. Sure, I get it, my question can't be answered mathematically.. Hence I used "approximately" and "ballpark figure" in my OP. Anyone any rough idea? ~5km? more?
  14. Is it somehow possible to place a ground unit without waypoints, so non moving, but with its engine running (and headlights on)?
  15. Would be awesome if we could place infantry units on top of watch towers (instead of inside 'em )

  16. Sorry if asked before, but does anyone know, at what range (ballpark figure) would one be able to hear a tree top level hovering Apache, during a "silent" night?
  17. As the title says: Currently can't place a Hind on Tha'Lah, while in real life, there are (or used to be) 2 Mi-24 squadrons located there (at least going by what I find on the internet) Probably completely in vein, just like all the other bug reports (and wishes) here... but one can only try..
  18. Oh, that is interesting news Where did you find this exactly?
  19. Your optimism is a nice refreshment and not to rain on anyone's parade here, but for all we know, multicore support in DCS could still be a year away. And also, it's still very much a question how much we will actually notice it at all. We already received news a few months ago that initial internal tests looked promising, so I don't really see any actual new "news" tbh. I'm normally a "glass half full" kinda person, but to avoid being disappointed, I'm not getting my hopes up too much and I'm certainly not expecting performance miracles.
  20. I'm afraid you can't, no I've seen other wish for this function though and I agree, it's a bit silly that we don't have to option yet to only refuel (or rearm).
  21. On my phone right now, but I'm sure it's the same on a pc. Scroll down on this page and see there:
  22. Just did a quick repair and that was sufficient. CMWS display shows up again now. I should have tried repair before creating this thread, sorry
  23. Aww, the B-2 got a baby I know it's of no importance whatsoever, but still, regarding looks, I much more prefer the bigger B-2. (then again, my aesthetic preference might be weird. As I also liked the unusual shape of the F-32 more than the imo boring looking F-35)
  24. That's correct, my CMWS display stays blank/black I am indeed able to pop flares and chaff, I also hear betty do radar callouts hmmm... I never touched any lua file I'll do a repair tomorrow and try again. Thanks for checking and for the heads up! I never had to do that before and my CMWS always worked just fine (perhaps before the latest OB updates RWLR got activated by default). Anyway, activating RWLR or not, it doesn't change my CMWS control panel display. That stays blank
