Have you tried to set the GPU Driver to an earlier ver.? In the diagnostic startup you are able to change video start options, did you do this?

I did not mean it wouldn't work. Just that it isn't the best based on the available GPU on the market. I believe you will be able to run the Sim. even though it may be with lower graphics effects and hope you do. We need good knowledgeable people like yourself.

The DCS checker checks the files inside the DCS folder. So it does not see the programs I listed above as it is part of Windows.

Your graphics card is a bit long in the tooth. I would suggest an upgrade for sure. One thing that causes this type of crash is the Distributed files from Microsoft page. C++ Redistributed all ver. need to be updated these files are needed to run this older software and is not part of any update offered by Microsoft. update all drivers for your system including any BIOS updates available for the motherboard. Always allow DX9 to install, some think having DX10 or later is good enough, it isn't they are separate programs and a must for this Simulator.

If U had it working before your logic is correct (should work now). What ver. did you have before? I think 1.7 would work on that machine with low graphics settings. Is that what you had before? did you save the install files from the ver. you had running before the upgrades? There is a way to install older ver. I don't remember the command string used, Anyone else know what it is? Anyone...........Beuller.....:)

That too crossed my mind while reading his specs. Sense he didn't mention crashes in other programs I ruled it out. Still a possibility if he doesn't use other software in the same environment.

When U put a "Model T" engine on a Ferrari Drive train U my see anomalies. They are "Correctable" with a little tweaking.

Did you also overclock the Graphics card? Overclocking is hardly worth it. 4Fps. faster than not clocked is hardly worth the headaches from having it overclocked. But do as you will of course. Take a look at the search function for systems like yours overclocked, you will see some had to remove the overclock to get it stable (DCS) others have had success with just removing the overclock on the CPU. The instant "Black Screen" would lead one to believe it is GPU Driver related. This black screen is also related to the C++ Redistributed files. I would update those first. All of them. From microsofts' page of course.

Yes that is possible. I would back up all files similar to that one. Those that would create a head ache if lost. I have an external 4Gig and another 3Gig external, I back up my back up. I lost a 4Gig music file once due to a HDD Failure, I vowed never again.

This happens with "Sim" and "Game" modes some times, make sure your changes match the mode U want to run the sim in.

Try Deleting the saved games folder you displayed just above. and run a repair.

EDGE is a band aid. It is the equivalent of having a Porche and purchasing an after market cruise control system. It works but isn't as good as updating the software to a better computer language, on par with other programs often discussed here such as ARMA. and the like. Edge is simply a program that will put DCS into a box (program) that is capable of running "some" of the modern graphics enhancements. It isn't capable of running all of them at there best. For what this software does it will be an improvement. The issue will become how do we proceed once it is also surpassed by new technology. Hopefully the "Band aid" will allow time to rewrite the software using a modern programming language capable of running in an environment equal to the modern CPU and GPU Technology. I can't recall the college name at present but there is work being done that will allow a programmer to insert his older software into a "Converter" (if you will) this program will update the software to the latest and greatest programming language. Let's hope it is finished not long after Edge hits the market.

A Leader Board isn't relevant to this type of Simulator. The Dynamic nature of the "Study Sim." doesn't allow for a "Rating System" in its current state of things. It would be possible in a lesser sim. such as the WWII type of shoot'em ups that accrue kills. Then it's only relevance would be to that server. Although from a "Logistics" point it would then allow an additional forum entry such as this rating system you mention. Highly difficult to do in the A10 unless kills are the key. This of course not allowing the technical aspects of the A10 to prevail unless done in a campaign style rating and again then its relevance is only pertinent to that server. Not disregarding another forum entry to highlight such. I personally have no interest in "Competing" in this manner. As it means little in the grand scheme of things. Lesser minds will disagree I am sure.

C. that usually happens when U loose access to or the "dist." files change. this happens with windows updates. reinstall the Dist. files in the dcs folder. c++ can be found here. The sliders are set to control zoom. once you move one slider it conflicts with the position of the other slider? Feel free to jump in here guys. :) I am assuming here.

Sounds like there may be 2 controls set for zoom view to me. Is this true in your settings?

Sharpe that is one Heck of a system. What changed in your system prior to the crashes? Hardware or setting issue maybe? You have run this overclocked through all of the updates to DCS World?

For Sure. also making sure your Virus program isn't checking every command sent by DCS. By way of turning it off. or setting it to accept all commands from DCS. What Virus Program are u using?
