  1. You can shut it down. It just will not apply the updates. Although it isn't stated the "Do not shut down" is a suggestion, they do need to make it clearer.
  2. After reading the logs, it seems the sim. is loading from the saved games file folder. Some have found deleting this file so the sim can recreate it on the next start up of the sim works to get rid of the crashes.
  3. You don't want the stand alone ver. of the Sim.? I have no issues with it, no lag no stuttering. I use the 1.7 ver. and have the Beta installed just to see how it works on my system. If not have U updated the Video drivers and everything else? even BIOS if there is one.
  4. Have U tried re-installing the DX9 and Redistributed files? That window popping up like that reminds me of the error from another update that didn't install those files after auto patching the Sim. Just a hunch though.
  5. You can always revert the Sim to an earlier ver. and enjoy it until the fix for 15 comes in.
  6. Developers? Are U listening? Quick patch maybe?
  7. One thing about "Re-Installing" is the fact that once you "Re-Install" the program that was causing the errors you are back to square one. It is much better to get to the bottom of any error/errors so that you and we learn the ins and outs of the program as it pertains to the OS. This of course requires a level of patience not so common to the "I want it now" society we live in. Don't get me wrong I fall pray to the same at times, I like others here, only have so much time to Sim. Kids, Wife, Job, Ghumar (Italian for woman on the side) and Bahdah Bing.........The days is gone.
  8. Seems the corrupted file is an indication that the "Error" is on the Providers side of things. Do You play other multi-player games that give you this problem?
  9. No need to reinstall the OS. ATI has a Control Interface that U can tell to use the dedicated GPU instead. Hope he sees this before the attempt to reinstall.
  10. How could U leave out ExcessiveHeadspace. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5LmTd3HW4qquL9mEOHzfnA Bunyap Sims https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCChA7JzaWoakPbvpmUzMH5g Sacrilege I tell yah!!!!!!!! :)
  11. Good Lord Mannnn!!!!!!!!!! There is no hope for U then........................I am sooo soooooo Kidding.
  12. I have 8 Gigs of Ram and the Nvidia 760 and an i7 @ 2.7 Win 7 64Bit. I see no reason to turn Mirrors off considering I don't have issues with mirrors. I would suggest a settings issue on that rig. Is the Video Card Overclocked? If so reduce it a bit and try again. Others have solved issues with "Factory Overclocked" GPUs.
  13. Specs are good. Do you have a heating issue? Drivers are updated?
  14. This issue seems to rear its ugly head every 3 or 4 updates. Causative factors need to apply across updates, I am sure the Developers are looking into this as updates are implemented. I hope.
  15. U could "Un-Do" what ever it is U have done. or a re-install. I assume you were aware of the graphics limits or your hardware when U started the adjustments of your settings? i.e. your graphics card is able to handle the settings you tried?
  16. System Specs.? Video Card issue maybe?
  17. To the victor goes the spoils. (War Trophy Maybe?)
  18. Also a potential heat issue with the video card itself.
  19. Increased detail in our maps to 3D Quality Maps and the Jets (More Pixels anyone) They are turned down now in most modules for the sake of FPS. Adding the Real World weather and GPS among other requests in our "Wish List" section and I believe the need for a Quad Core Process is more relevant. Buzzles Source??? Really?? reread the post please.
  20. Multi-Core is Possible in DCS As I was perusing my latest issue of "Boot Magazine", for those who remember fondly the beginning of our Passion. Of course it is now titled Maximum PC. I came across an interesting article on a start up company that is (as they say) capable of running older software on a new chip that changes the instructions to a multi core format, this being done "On the Fly" will allow DCS and other software code to run in a multi core environment with these new chips sans recoding. With an on the fly loss of just 5% (FPS/Speed) this is quite doable for our Beloved DCS Titles. Several PC mags. and website have covered the story, in case U missed it. A few articles have mentioned that they are "Well Funded" for those looking to invest, I am sure the shares are being snapped up as u read this. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/visc-virtual-cores-cpu-performance,27958.html http://www.pcworld.com/article/2838018/stealthy-startup-soft-machines-launches-virtual-cpu-cores-that-trounce-traditional-processors.html
  21. Please Re-read post.
  22. Ahhhh.... Ye, of little faith. It is being used as we speak isn't it? So what is your "Prediction" based upon (Rhetorical). I guess you haven't seen the videos using the EDG engine yet. Or seen the post from the testers who are using it right now. There are some beautiful scenes to be appreciated available for your perusing should you choose to take advantage of them. Hence I "Predict" you are not minding all the information available to you that renders your prediction quite mute my friend.
  23. Turn down the overclock on this GPU and it should work fine, then wait for edge while U fly.
  24. Easier to help if we know your PC Specs. Video Card and how much Video Ram it has is major information. Along with the rest.
  25. All of this will be nice, for sure. I am still enthralled with the lack of bugs at the level we used to have. Those items will come in time guys. Be Patient grass Hopper(Mi Hagi)!!!!!
