I hope this helps those who believe it necessary to "Reinstall" everything when updating a PC. It is hardly worth it not to just "Simply" upgrade. Instead of going through the unnecessary hassle of Deactivating and reactivating. I have had no problem with my system using the windows upgrade as apposed to doing a complete wipe of my HDD. This is a left over from the days when PC techs. those below average would run in to a problem and believe it necessary to "Wipe" their HDD, instead of figuring out what caused their issue. So that when they reinstall the program that caused the problem in the first place is reinstalled they were back to square one. Migration software has more than kept up with the needs of users. Adding more functionality and honing the migration software to perfection. I am speaking of the top tear manufactures of migration software. Making it very unneeded to "Wipe" a drive just to install a new OS.

Change the "Default" sound (what you hear) setting until you get it. No biggy. What sound card are we talking about? did you install the WHQL drivers? they had issues. Revert to the older drivers if so.

An explanation of side refraction might be due also.

Those things are so sexy. Prices should be lower now they came out about June of this yr. I want to see the set up when you get it up and running. This one is crazy but expensive dual curved in surround set up.

latest GPU drivers?

It seems this may be at issue if the result of reinstalling was a Compatibility issue. (Potentially) Japman down load the latest ver. of the software and you should be fine. Keep Windows updated also. never be in a hurry to update the GPU drivers until you know the ver. works well.

Guys I wish U had taken Pictures, I would Love to see this. I am surprised at the use of projectors with low resolution graphics though. They are in need of a tech. guru for sure. especially if they are charging what I would consider a premium for the experience. Smart Business Move on the part of DCS. I would guestimate exposing 30to50 thousand potential customers to the product easily.

The problem is Win10 changing the default sound profile of the PC. I had to change it back to the CL. and 5.1 surround. Other than that no issues. Do not install the WHQL drivers for the sound card. I have the extra control box that comes with the higher end cards and lost the use of it, even for a while unable to boot until I change the sound default, this by way of starting the PC in "Safe Mode" most users aren't familiar with debugging and trouble shooting. I can understand the CL Forum being full of people in crisis.

I understand your desire to reinstall. When faced with an issue like this, reinstalling doesn't resolve it in most cases a hard system crash isn't related to software. It's a power issue. Graphics or HDD Power jolts do this. USBs' devices can also have this effect. Do the reinstall and get back to us as this will assist others having this type of issue.

Reinstall the Redistributed Files from Microsoft web page. Some have had better results deleting them and then reinstalling. Found Here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/DownloadResults.aspx?q=redistributable%20package Get all of them2008 to current they are all needed for the sim. DirectX should be OK. but if you want to be sure reinstall it also, that has been done by many with your issue.

It was an issue with mods. Are you using a mod?

This is caused by a mouse setting in control panel.. Pointer Trails have caused this in the past.

Before Win Updates it creates a restore point. I would suspect the graphics update from Win7 HQL driver. The sound update for the Creatives Sound Blaster was a big issue from those updates also don't use it/ them. What error message do you get with the failed boot?

Was this after a system crash? I would try a system restore at this point if I had done all you have to find the issue.

Welcome Pisano. Integrity Check your steam ver. but download the DCS ver. You can have both on your PC. I do and a lot of us do it. You should download from the DCS webpage. This will not be the steam ver. it is stand alone DCS. World. Much better and faster updates. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/

126 Games some on steam of course and no errors in the top dollar games my son plays. So far anyway updates are arriving. This by way of upgrade not a clean install. I would never go through all of the reinstalls without knowing for sure it would be of benefit to me, way to much work for no reason. I have an X52 also, what error are you having? Not a Mapping issue?

A few updates back the install didn't include MS. runtimes. Have you tried reinstalling them?
