  1. Sound playing in the background of a black screen freeze was related to GPU drivers, If memory serves. Try reinstall or downgrade to the prior ver. of your driver.
  2. Is there something going on with "Starforce". It just sounds like it to me. Another users makes me think this might be true for him also. waiting on his logs. After the changes to your system, did you get a "Starforce" error. It would ask you to reregister the Sim.?
  3. I like that one. Would you take an SSD in a Box? Would you could you if I shipped it fast as a fox? Would you take it if it's free? Would you take it just from me? I have one sitting in a box, would love to give it a home seriously? inbox me if you want to try one.
  4. Ok attach the logs for Bignewy. No system changes GPU or Processor either?
  5. Bignewy I believe the "Strange Stuff" comes from the files not being totally removed after an attempt to delete or remove the mods. The user most likely forgot he added the mods. after being away for so long.
  6. 8Gigs of Ram is the minimum to "Run'' the software. To better enjoy the software use 16. some get away with less but I prefer the "More is Better" Methodology in PC Technology. You may also want to keep a tab on this post. Interesting fix being attempted for pauses. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=175568
  7. Is that GPU overclocked? If so turn it down. That information has been available for many iterations WilliamLink have you also tried turning down any overclock? as stated this fix has been an issue long before this update of late.
  8. There are great YouTube videos available for all modules of this sim.
  9. Sounds like a USB hub error to me. but this will be worked out I am sure.
  10. Post your system specs. Just to rule out anything in them. No I do not get those pauses in my flights.
  11. Have you deleted the saved games folder? "C:\Users\Rex Hooker\Saved Games" You've never had issues with the overclock? Some have had to clock them back to default.
  12. It in essence has happened. It is a "Sandbox" implementation, one that allows us some use of the DX11 technology. To take advantage of the DX11 Tech. in its entirety the software would have to be completely reprogrammed. This being a huge undertaking and expensive endeavor, we can only hope all goes well with DCS and its affiliates to (in the future) give us this awesome simulator in its full glory. Technically speaking of course. I will buy a lottery ticket in hopes of giving them the funds to accomplish this great metamorphosis.
  13. You are attempting to discuss issues we have already evaluated long ago. Take a look at our search function to find answers from the issue you are looking into. 3DMark has nothing to do with a DX9 program. The results you are viewing there are synthetic numbers with little meaning in the real world. I am aware gamers believe in the 3dmark program as the "Holy Grail" of gaming. But the numbers are just numbers in the real world. DX9 is a Microsoft program that isn't updated any longer. So it isn't represented well in 3dmarks number crunching scheme. Hyper Threading has been done so much few here want to even talk about it. but you can as I say take a look at the old logs by way of the search function. You will learn a lot and not bring up things we as mentioned above have "Beaten to Death" long ago. Your enthusiasm is much like the best of the best individuals here. I am looking forward to your future posts as you learn more about our software. I know your level of intelligence and enthusiasm will bring many great post and conversations.
  14. Remember this Sim. was started by a group of programmer gamers. Not a large big box company. No marketing budget, no large programming group. just a couple of guys with an idea to provide a great "Combat Simulator'. They have grown sense. Comparing a "Combat Sim." to a "Flight Sim." isn't really good. Think about all of the radars and targeting software running, along with the defense systems. And you will see the combat sim. is much more active and taxing on a PC. along with the big budget of Microsoft. This would not a fare comparison. One is comparatively in its infancy the other is long in the tooth. (In tech. terms anyway).
  15. I do remember someone doing a very thorough test with his system. He had SLi 980s' and tested them with and without SLi. I read through it several times, as I was considering buying one myself. Check YouTube. I wasn't able to find the thread here after searching quite a bit.
  16. Please keep in mind DCS was developed when DX9 was the highest tech. used for gaming development.
  17. The answer to your Question is a bit technical. DX9 was the highest method of running software at the time of the creation of this Simulator. As Microsoft moved forward in its development and in its effort to increase the gaming industries mission, they moved to DX10 and then DX11. Unfortunately they dropped support for DX9. So that the software had issues with the instruction sets of the newer chips. Enhance one technology and it sometimes has a negative effect on another. Like adding into the intel instruction set (on chip). instead of having the command come from the HD. I am not sure but there is a problem with over clocked processors and GPUs' in this software for sure. It seems it has something to do with DX9 handlers. Please note I said seems. and do not over reach in my hypothesis. There appears to be some correlation between the two. I Run all settings maxed out. with an i7 920 from around 2004 or so. with a Nvidia 760 GPU and 12Gigs of Ram.
  18. I believe it should be an .ogg file, not a wave file. you could try renaming it after saving the original. I don't work with the internal files, other here do. I am sure they will ring in on your issue soon.
  19. Sounds like a default low setting on the GPU. Try looking in the setting for your card. MSAA and the like. Or have you?
  20. You do realize that is what I was saying.........Right? You may want to re-read my post.
  21. Guys swap file management is from 1998 and Windows NT. Keeping up with the advances in technology isn't easy for a working person. Just know that SSDs are a matter of fast storage access and Ram is fast program response. One does this the other does that. The oil is high tech. in my car. It still requires gasoline. My grandfather thinks you guys are right, he was reading over my shoulder. he also still uses a VCR.
  22. From BigNewy signature http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2253318&postcount=4
  23. Your computer specs also. Ram GPU and the like.
  24. It doesn't require the purchase of a new PC. give them a minute to work it out. I do understand your frustration. especially when the Software was in its infantile state there were so many errors and problems lots were complaining. Now to us who have been here sense early 2000's it seems like a small amount.
