Hi all, I have checked with the team, and we currently most accurately support Mode 1A. It’s quite possible that something has changed since Wags originally recorded that video. There are a couple of carrier recovery items to fix that we are aware of for manual approach, that should then address the Mode 1 issues you bring up. Thank you.

Thank you for the new tracks, you need to decouple when calling the ball for a manual trap. ACLS is NOT designed to be engaged all they way to the trap. Later systems like "magic carpet" allowed full hands off trap, but not ACLS when calling the ball, use the paddle to disengage ACLS hope that helps -
I own a winwing throttle and it is great for me. I appreciate you may not be having a good experience but posting here like this really does not help.

Hi, I moved this out of the bugs section to the main F-16C section as I dont think you have a bug here. Its important to make sure you are trimmed, and as mentioned above you want to ensure your stick is calibrated and checked for drift as it often creates a problem where people are unable to stay in auto pilot. Add a track replay example if you still have issues and we can try the same scenario on our machines. thanks -

Hi VampireNZ, The Up-Short and Down-Short commands are provided as priority actions. The Up-Short (PHS SEARCH) command is meant for the CPG to stop his current task and immediately search where the Pilot is looking, used to rapidly get the CPG onto a target or enemy position the Pilot has visually spotted. The Down-Short command orders the CPG to stop tracking his current target and, if he is firing on it, to cease fire. Obviously this is an important priority action to order the CPG to cease fire, regardless of what the CPG is doing. However, more critically, the Up-Short and Down-Short commands must remain available, regardless of what the CPG is doing, to be able to command these priority actions. There are several conditions in which the Down-Long command contextually changes based on the current task George is performing. Therefore, if these commands were swapped as you ask, this would prevent the player from being able to immediately command George to stop firing on a target with a single command at any time that would be needed, which is not desirable. And regarding the delay when pressing Down-Long, the command itself is commanded with a long press >0.5 seconds as stated in the manual, but the actions George must perform may take several seconds after the command is issued before a Target List is presented. George emulates a human crewmember, so there are many actions that do not readily or apparently produce an immediate result. There is a lot more logic and commands that we cannot put into a single Mini-updates forum post, which was meant as a highlight of the key features we are adding. The George AI CPG section of the manual grew from 6 to 22 pages, so there is a lot of logic that we worked very hard to keep intuitive and easy to use, that may not be obvious from that Mini-updates post.

This is likely caused by George being set in the Mission Editor to Simple IFF mode, or Auto and ending up in Simple IFF mode based on the mission settings. When in Simple IFF mode, the angular size of the target is not a factor in finding a target, like having labels enabled for the player and being able to instantly see the target beyond the range of human eyesight. If manually set to Label Only or Realistic IFF modes, George will not spot targets at 20 miles, unless they are really big like an aircraft carrier or other large naval vessel. Details regarding how these settings affect George AI CPG are explained in the Combat Identification (CID) section of the George AI chapter in the EA Guide. thank you

Hi, any unofficial mods will be in the saved games dcs mods folder, not the root install of dcs. If you attach your dcs log it will give us some more data. -
