Which are the best squadron multiplayer missions
Los replied to 59th.Raven.Snakeye's topic in User Created Missions General
Frankly the Krasnador variable ground attack (SP or MP) is pretty awesome for squad night. Los -
FYI Waypoint 3 takes me nowhere near the waypoint three FARP target.

Uh-1H Troop Transport ability
Los replied to Pac-Man's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Combined with the PM I sent here is a sample Template mission I created for you to practice and serve as a basis for oherr missions. It even includes being able to take off a transport troops from carrier. If you still need help I can set up a server and you can fly and air assault with our little group. Hope that helps. Cheers... Uh-1H Troop Transport ability
Los replied to Pac-Man's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Pac Man If you are smart enough to figure out how to fly the uh1 you are smart enough to run a mission using the Ctld script. Just RTFM. This actually does way more than what DCS even had implemented. Just pm me if you need help. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143107 -
C-7 caribou!

Honestly if you are working on your pilots license you are better off using FSX. (That's what I did) It's more than likely the exact airplane you will be using will be built in detail in FSX, and the exact area you are flying over will be modeled. (Unless you live in Batumi and are training on an L39c?) You should be able to accurately prefly your training flights in FSX. Los

Anyone else notice imrpovement after steam VR update?
Los replied to Wolf8312's topic in Virtual Reality
I have not experienced any of these kinds of issues and we design and fight large battles...HOWEVER...Avoid conducting large bombardments such as a trigger or advanced waypoint action for units to target specific areas (like a ship bombarding shore) for more than a few seconds because that can cause you to chunk out in vr. -
Using the mission editor to design missions for VR?
Los replied to Wolf8312's topic in Virtual Reality
What would you consider to be a vr only misison? I fly any kind of missions in vr and voila, the are vr missions. There's no vr specific features in the editor (BTW I design most of my mission in the editor while in vr, ... it is a PITA.) But otherwise, the guys I fly with with our missions are a mix of vr and mundanes :D and everyone enjoys them equally... -
Possible to use two TM Warthog throttles at once?
Los replied to jasonstory44's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It should work, its just another controller to DCS. -
No worries my man!

Well, one could also just follow the prescribed protocol rather than expect the program to run without the required file? If you delete song1, put a new song1 in there.

Basically whatever one does they have to be able access their controls by feel and muscle memory. I.m not sure what kind of flailing is required to access a mouse but if it's any at all, then it is not in he right location. Time to build that vr cockpit! That what I'm doing. Los

SEAD and ground Pounding with the T, where to start?
Los replied to OnlyforDCS's topic in Su-25 for DCS World
Dont forget to do the tutorials that are in the game. They are pretty good. One of them is just about SEAD. -
You can run the server in your own PC and connect to it in a client in your own PC and here yourself transmitting.

A bit of brutal honesty from a former EA-6B driver :)
Los replied to BlackLion213's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
This is less brutal honesty than the pilot equivalent of old woman gossip. -
Btw if you go to the vr area looking for help do everyone a favor and be a little more specific. In particular post your various hardware settings and what in game settings you are using. Then we can make some recommendations.

Someone made a little mod where you see it on a card taped to the console. You can search on this forum.

Ok not for nothing but, unless your HOTAS has only a few buttons, you should be able to map, for most aircraft, everything you need to have near you at a second's notice on your devices. Apart from that, not every second of a flight, unless its been terribly planned out, is spent running along the deck in the mountains at ten feet at 500 mph, or in a life of death dogfight. Real cockpits don't have every switch mapped to hotas, and apparently actual pilots have learned to overcome these insurmountable deficits. I've been flying vr continuously for eight months now and given this a lot of thought. I have for most aircraft my hotas mapped a certain way, and everything works fine. The mouse a positioned in a way that requires no undue effort to operate, and, just because, on top of that I'm working on a nice VR cockpit for other functions I want access in a way I can easily find them. I'm not trying to dissuade anyone here. Its great that they have included the functionality of being able to manipulate cockpit switches through hotas and vr headset like they have done. Certainly I cant afford to take two or three precious hotas buttons to map them to a mouse function when I already have a perfectly usable device called a mouse, married with 32 years of established muscle memory behind it. I've found the answer to be properly repositioning the mouse and physical cockpit space layout in general. I feel that if one is going to fly regularly in vr, more than even regular eyeball flying, you have to have a well thought out ergonomic cockpit layout. You have to be able to easily reach whatever you need, without seeing it and with minimal amount of body repositioning, since you or dong everything by feel. (Whether its mouse of some other selection method) p.s. Oh and that's great advice re Voice attack. Especially for radio commands. Los

DCS is very vr friendly with Vive and Rift (I have been flying w/ vive for 8 months and it works great) so it's either some settings on your end, or your PC specs. My recommendation is to head over to the VR section and poke around there. Plenty of good info and helpful people: https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=497 Los

Yeah I just have my jetseat plugged into my USB and it works great. Excellent piece of Kit and Andre has excellent customer service.

I guess using the mouse is difficult for some? I find mapping the mouse to your head movement is more cumbersome and finicky and adds nothing to immersion over a mouse. But then again I fly center stick and have the mouse in a mount by my right thigh it works great and feels more natural. Like others my warthog has more valuable functions to map. To each their own!

Hi guys I am sure I'm doing something wrong here but cant put my finger on it. I have registered LOTATC installed client and server. Everything works perfectly great in DCS 1.5. We have successful full functionality w this great program. In DCS 2.0 we cant see any airfields (or any terrain relief) in the client (My buddy has tried in multiplayer as wel... same problem. Other functions, (eg AWACS) work normally in the NTTR. I have latest version installed using the install executable . (I had originally installed via JGSME w same problems in NTTR). It appears that the Nevada.db is properly installed along side of the caucuses.db under users/Los/lotatc 4 dcs data. (again, everything works fine in DCS 1.5) Is ATC not yet implemented in NTTR? I have searched around and cant find an answer. Thank you! Los

Los replied to Wolf8312's topic in Virtual Reality
Its the software engine behind the HTC-Vive -
I have found hat the Warthog works great w vr plus it's perfectly simple to use your mouse as well, just reposition it so it's near your hand. Los
