I ditch all weapons ASAP, pop the gear down, and try to slowly Auto-rotate down, once you get into ground effect it can actually maintain flight. Be gentle and you can limp her back to base.

Hind - Wanting to understand power system loss
Soulres replied to Dangerzone's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Being too violent with the controls and collective. Where as with a Huey it just bogs the RPM down, in the HIND all the systems rely on that rpm to function. There is no reason to be so violent with the controls. -
+1 since you can manipulate teh controls already, Just text pop up on the top right of what the setting is.
-
There is a loadout where you get 8 ATGMs and 2x 20 Rockets, just upgrade them to 32 count and it gives me no issues.
-
The text on the top right above each AP indicator (Yaw,Pitch Roll) should change colors depending (Normal white for ON, Dark Red for OFF) Its mostly ease of access otherwise I have to look down and left to see what system is on, and this is all for ease of access afterall.
-
I toggle the APs on and off, so if I will be turning, I'll pop the Rudder trim off, If I am going to land, I pop the Pitch trim off.. When comming in for an attack run I pop the rudder and and pitch off together. gives me better control as it'll fight you.

While that MIGHT be true, thats probably an export version. Some other country perhaps put that on there much how the Germans 24p Has the IR silencers on the exaust. Were getting the soviet 24p.

There isnt one. Some models of the Mi24 actually removed teh ability.

Kinda Iritating that ALOT of servers have Petrovich disabled that cripples the heli but have Jester Ai enabled, as much fun as it sounds going server to server to argue with the mission maker that their idea is rubbish, Just better to force the Ai so we can actually use the thing as intended. Running Gunner for 8 ATGMs is VERY boring compared to running 2 Hinds.

cannot reproduce and missing track file yaw to the left on hover
Soulres replied to Japo32's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Ive found having Trim Reset and the On off Switches for all 3 Trim hotkeyed fixed this for me. Seems like the auto pilot is correcting for the pilots inputs, but since it moves so slow its hard to notice until you try to go the other way, and the rudder 'sticks' when its actually the AP slowly moving the rudder to fix. If Im using the rudder for turns or hover, I run with AP Rudder trim off. -
I would like the ability to disable Petrovich to be removed from Mission editors . If Jester can stay until someone can hop in, So can Petrovich.

The rudder yaw that keeps from flying straight
Soulres replied to FoxxyTrotty's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Left kneecap, turn off the Rudder-Auto pilot while you use the rudder. it'll fight your inputs But VERY slowly. (Compared to the Huey which Jerks the controls, this moves at snails pace.) -
DCS must be Open-beta version (if I remember correctly)
-
I'f im not mistaken, only Germany put these on their handfull of Hinds and they really arnt that affective.
-
You need to add, "Hold cage 1 and cage 2 for 2 seconds" aswell

correct as is Rudder trim off sometimes trims rudder
Soulres replied to jmijnen's topic in Bugs and Problems
Its cause of teh auto pilot Rudder. I was lead footing my pedals and the Rudder-Autopilot corrected almost the entire LENGTH, and VERY slowly crept back until I reset with LCTRL - T and it fixed itself I belive this is cause the Rudder Trim Speed for the auto pilot is slow. -
Had this happen randomly several times, died afew times because of it as I was able to either recover or fight the roll. Not sure if there is a reason for it. DO A BARREL ROLL.trk - Answer Overspeed- Causes one side of the blades to create more lift than the other. -Ghetto-Recovery- Remain calm, Use rudder to try and keep LEVEL ,Be gentle with controls. If the engines stall, keep a slight nose down to spin the blades up to help the engine, It should recover.

I get this too,and I dont even use the trimmer. -
I'm lookingfor the list of the sound names for the SU27,the old Su27InEngineL(R) doesn't seem to really work anymore, but instead runs off of Su27FrontEngine(2) and some other unlabeled sound file names, Anyone have any ideas for these? I love the Hum of the startup but Hate how it gets quiet after the startup.

I disabled them in the menue manager, it restarted and it was gone. However all the files are still there. I just got rid of 60 gigs now of aircraft I dont own.Pretty sure this isn't how it was intended to work.
-
All of the Free aircraft I tried are still in my World/Mods/Aircraft even though I deleted them through the Manager a week ago, We're talking like 40 gigs here without any maps...Just a headsup.

In all honesty, the rudder is very useless in jets cause its used so little. However for Warbirds and Helicopters its required, but you dont need the pedals for those either. Since the pedals have brakes, using the Right brake would be pretty hard for you, So I can only say that the pedals arnt really super required. and that if you just setup your brakes correct and adjust your twist enough. you can do everything with your hands. (I know this cause I dont have 150+$ to drop on Pedals)
