  1. Not certain what (If any) rules there are, but I know that ED is working on the F-18 and there is another 3rd party dev that is as well... I think ya dev can work whatever project they want to and we as customers decide which module we will support with our checkbooks...
  2. Nice summary of the Dora.. Thanks!
  3. Well certainly NO CHANCE of anyone thinking that it might be you.. Thanks for the clarification and amazingly insightful and helpful post!
  4. Yes please lock this useless thread ... SABREDOG Sorry to see this is another example of "No good deed goes unpunished.." Thanks for the offer anyway! The joys of a public forum...
  5. Maybe some of these folks need to find a better way to spend their time... If not receiving constant notifications regarding their pet project gets your undies in a bunch and all you can do is pen flame posts about how mad you are about it.. You may just want to find something else to do... I can promise you that moving from thread to thread spoutning the same statements over and over is not going to make things any better...
  6. Once again what was the issue? No offense, but stating that the module is bugged simply because you can't land it is not really legitimate... These WW2 planes are notoriously difficult to take off and land so just because you can't nail it on your first attempts is not really damning evidence of a bug... Beyond a crunched plane do you have anything to support a bug review?
  7. Awesome idea... Thanks to Mainstay for suggesting this! CHEERS!
  8. I was well aware that DX9 is 2 generations back, my statement regarding the support was based on Skates statement here... "AMD hasn't made any profile's for DCS and when emailed about it, they responded with the same "We no longer support Legacy DirectX Engines" (Meaning they wont touch older Applications that run on DX9, and DX10 for that matter.)
  9. My opinion is that if AMD won't even support DirectX ONE GENERATION back then I will never buy AMD in the future. (Not all game companies update DirectX versions as soon as they are available.) ED is an example of this.. And I am certainly not going to spend that kind of cash on a video card only to have it run sub-par in a year because the AMD won't support it sufficiently.. One more nail in AMD's coffin as far as I am concerned.. Looks like I will stick with Nvidia regardless of how AMD cards work with EDGE..
  10. Well to be fair DX9 IS really old, but I hear what you are saying...
  11. That all sounds like solid advice, the only thing I will mention (And it is a bit of a gamble) is that AMD support SHOULD be much better in EDGE simply due to the fact that EDGE will be DX11 and that has been the main stumbling block for AMD cards is that DCS has been DX9 and AMD hasn't supported DX9 with their newer cards... This makes the new AMD video card offerings much more attractive once EDGE arrives.. Just a thought... (And for the record I bought an Nvidia GTX770 Ti despite what I just typed) Kind of the "Devil you know" mentality...
  12. HaHa... Sorry, but you need to take a quick look at pretty much any thread in this forum as they are FILLED with information that was stated and then changed for whatever reason and the pitch forks and torches came out immediately... No, it is pretty much the only reasonable thing for ED to do to simply keep mum until they have a stable release and THEN provide some hard data for folks.. Look at it this way... Imagine if ED had released specs when they said EDGE was originally going to be released... The recommendation would be several years old and just how many changes would have been made in that time... (And imagine how ticked you would be spending your hard earned dollar on specs provided only to find that when it was released your hardware was no longer relevant... OUCH...) Nope, they need to wait and unfortuantely we have to wait for them...
  13. This is a blatant exaggeration... No update to DCS has required a "New Machine" to run... And I doubt that EDGE will either.. On the contrary, I am betting that EDGE will run BETTER on your existing hardware than it does right now due to the DX11 improvements.. (Or at least as well)
  14. OK I am not much of a Sabre / Mig fan so I have not done any research, but was one plane superior to the other? (And I don't want a bunch of hyped propaganda as both sides spew that out all the time.. ) These planes are old enough that someone should have real-life definitive data on whether one plane was superior to the other.. Anyone? (I ask because maybe that is why the AI Migs are getting more kills than the Sabre AI)
  15. Now where did I put that Mastercard?....
  16. Cichild I responded back on that a page or so ago.. I think you may have missed what I said... Please disregard the multi threading statement as I must have been mistaken.. Sorry for muddying up things...
  17. Not sure exactly where I saw that but based on your post I am getting the sinking feeling that this statement may not be correct... And if they DON'T incorporate multi threading, then the CPU that MIG29 is using may not be as good for EDGE as I previously thought. (I based that statement on the multi threading)
  18. I agree with that statement now that Sith has responded back regarding his testing setup.. I was assuming 2 things when I posted.. 1) EDGE would require a better graphics card than the current renderer...(That may not be the case based on Sith's info) 2) I assumed that Mig29 was asking his question with the emphasis on where he should focus his money when the upgrade time comes... I was simply saying that his CPU looks to be the strongest part of his setup and that the GPU may very well be the weakest and might be the place to spend his money to get the best bang for his buck... Strictly my opinion and so that is all it is worth at this point!
  19. Now THERE is some good information.. Thanks Sith!
  20. Devs haven't responded back on specs before so I doubt they will at this time either.. We can make a few assumptions though... I believe They are targeting multi-thread use so your current I7 should work pretty well if they do make good on multi-threading.. My opinion is that 6 Gig RAM won't cut it (I believe that is the minimum now, so i would definitely push for 12 at least and I currently have 16 since it isn't that expensive..) Based on your specs I would look at replacing that graphics card with at least a 770GTX and would highly recommend an 880GTX... Also IIRC they are going to support SLI so maybe 2 770GTXs would be the ticket.. Obviously these are just guesses based on what their puported targets are but I think these are decent assumptions..
  21. LOL yeah whatever...
  22. Now look who is whining....
  23. But isn't it possible that this isn't a bug but the fact that you damaged the gear? A false or incorrect gear light might happen in real life too if you crunch the gear when landing .. ??
  24. Well, Sabre released and Mig-21 and Hawk both slated to be released 1.2.9 so that will help ease the pain a little as we wait for 2.0....
