  1. Yep, this on caught me out, too. Forget to lock it after start up and was having power surges / drops. Lock the primer and it will went back to normal :)
  2. The Mustang as standard has a tail wheel lock. With it locked, you have 6(?) degrees of movement left / right to enable easy steering on the ground. The Spitfire has a fully castoring tail wheel - it has no lock at all. If you have very little airflow over the rudder, the only way to stop it ground looping is with your brakes. The Spitfire just takes practice. It's actually my favourite module to taxi because of the ground handling. Stick at it and it will come :)
  3. Thank you, C0ff. I'm hoping we'll be able to edit .lua files from Coremods if we have them stored in the saved games folder. Modding really is essential for a lot of what we do in DCS. Rob.

Easily my favourite jet fighter of all time! Really can't wait for this one :)
  5. Awesome! Hope we get the 108gal tanks of the 51 too! Really looking forward to the P47 - probably my most anticipated module.
  6. I'm super excited for this one... Been waiting for a long time. I was hoping for a Christmas release when I have a bit of time but a couple more months wont do any harm :) I'd rather it be ready when we get our hands on her
  7. Looked good guys - Looking forward to another prop in DCS!
  8. Yes, I'm afraid my skins are intended from 2.5 onwards...
  9. +1 Would like to have a pylon only load out option.
  10. I'm in agreement with this. So far, I have been unable to do an energy neutral loop regardless of power settings and whether I'm flying with the prop in manual or automatic. I always seem to loose 40-50kph per loop
  11. Nooky Booky IV added to first post
  12. Been away for a little while but thought I'd upload some that I've had on the backburner for a few months. 13. Currently uploading to the ED userfiles section...
  14. Add me to the list :)
  15. I must agree! I've been away from seriously flying in DCS for 9 months or more and a finally got a free weekend this weekend. Honestly, DCS had sort of lost it's buzz for me, but I can't remember when I last had as much fun flying as I have this weekend in the F-14. Incredible level of detail, some great features and having a RIO is a real game changer - Excellent module. This really has set the bar for DCS from now on!
  16. I will hopefully upload tomorrow :) Already have some RAF ones in the works as I was planning to do some 303 Squadron ones when I get chance...
  17. Something I'm working on: Ignore the markings, but I've been replicated all the real painted / metallic parts as close as I can
  18. Ordered - Thank you! Looking forward to it
  19. I've been flying it since the day it was released - I don't need the cheat sheet to tell me how to not boil the engine :)
  20. Just zoom on it and you can read it fine... :music_whistling: It should stay where it is on the real aircraft :)
  21. Your slow power up is the reason you're struggling to keep her straight during take-off. The Spitfire had a free casterting tail wheel and has little rudder effectiveness at low speed. In otherwords, it requires significant airflow over the rudder to maintain directional control. Here's a video I made a couple years ago but the basics are as follows: Trim nose down so the the indicator just touches the top of the circular mark. Right rudder trim, roughly 5 keyboard clicks right, so the word 'Rudder' is roughly straight. Full RPM Power up quickly to Boost +10 You'll require full right rudder initially and about 1/4 right aileron.
  22. Issue with Squadron Codes on CW Hi all, Just a small issue with the squadron codes on the CW spit. You can see from the image below that the codes work fine on the normal Spit, but the wrong colour codes appear on the CW and they also have a Grey/Green background around them instead of the desert colours. This is on a fresh install of DCS Open Beta - No mods installed at all.
  23. Brilliant! Thank you. Purely for selfish reasons, the D9 is a bit of a handle in formation aerobatics with the auto prop pitch. The K4 is much more reasonable when you have it set to manual :pilotfly:
  24. Damn... Was really hoping for a manual prop pitch option. Oh well. Still going to be great fun to fly :) Thanks for the info
