  1. LERX vapor doesnt show on both sides. During our test flight last night I noticed that the LERX vapor only seemed to show up on the right side. Though it only seemed to affect me, and not the other guys on the server.
  2. A couple of pictures from the end of May when I was lucky enough to be invited to a photo flight with "the Dark Falcon" and the two D-Day Vipers over Belgium. What a fantastic day that was, and what beauties they are!
  3. The Norwegian Vipers still operate from relatively short runways, heavy maintenance is still carried out at Kjeller outside of Oslo, where the runway length is about 1300m.
  4. It's been quite a while since I've done any texturing in DCS and now Im trying to get my head around how these RoughMets work, is there a stupid idiot's guide on how to do it out there?
  5. That's one dirty Viper though, if I didn't know better I'd think it was Greek :P
  6. That's more of a freak accident than something that happens on a regular basis though.
  7. The Belgian F-16s are Block 20 MLU A and B-models, just like the other EPAF F-16s.
  8. Okay, so this is a small one, and not at all important gameplay wise, but I'd love to be able to choose different helmets and oxygen masks for the pilot model. From the screenshots it looks like we'll get the JHMCS and the MBU-12/P oxygen mask, I'd love to be able to choose the HGU-55/P helmet and the MBU-20/P as well.
  9. Maybe the USAF procedures dictate that burner should be used with that loadout, but we routinely see RNorAF F-16s taking off with a similar load in mil power. And they're using the less powerful F100. You are of course right that the turkey feathers are a dead give away here - but it should also be possible to do a dry thrust take off with this load out.
  10. The Hornet might be a bit much if you're completely new, I'd suggest getting something simple like the F-5 just to get your feet wet. Don't get me wrong, neither the Hornet nor the Viper are difficult to learn, but it might seem a bit overwhelming if you don't already have a foundation to build upon. Most modules have very good training missions that will take you through all the basics like start up, taxi, take off and landing. Once you've got that down you can move on to the more advanced systems like the weapons.
  11. Thumbs up! I'd also love to see some wing vibrations while taxing like in the F-5, it's quite noticeable in the Viper.

    ECM pod

The USAF Vipers are far from the only ones carrying external ECM pods, I'd say it's more common to carry pods than to have it internally. It's a bit like asking, why doesn't the USAF use dragchutes when other countries do? It's quite simple really, different countries, different needs.
  13. The F-16 can't dump fuel, so once you've filled her up, you'll have to burn off all that fuel ;) I'm all up for empty tanks though. Maybe it's just me, but I'd like to fly with tanks, but without the additional weight sometimes.
  14. Yes to tailhooks! I hope they model the runway arresting system as well, but just having the hook helps a bit with immersion.
  15. The Mk IV Spitfire that we have in DCS was designed to beat the A-8...
  16. I'd absolutely pay for different versions of the F-16, maybe not the full 80 bucks per version though. And if I could choose I'd go for an -AM with drag chute.
  17. Labeling it as [NOT REALISTIC] is a bit weird, I know the US Vipers don't use drag chutes, but there are plenty of other block 50/52s that do. I would love to have it, as it would at least be closer to a Norwegian F-16AM, but if they're very adamant that they are just doing a USAF/ANG F-16 then I guess not.
  18. I would love this as well, but concidering they're doing a USAF/ANG Viper, my guess is we won't be getting a drag chute.

    An2

    The AN-2 is not a WW2 aircraft though ;)

    An2

The bigger question is, why wouldn't you want an AN-2? It's an awesome aircraft and it's high time that we get more than just the pointy nose combat aircraft in DCS (don't get me wrong, I love pointy noses).
  21. Awesome indeed! Gotta love those Sufas!
  22. No, I'd say it's probably the most difficult of the bunch, no trim and if you're going slow she wants to flip over.
  23. I'd like another one as well.
  24. Nice, I'll give that a go when I get home, it's been a lot of "faffing about" in the dark over the last couple of days
  25. Yes, but only from the pods on the wings, not with a basket from the boom. And I noticed the wingtip vortices when I tested it as well...
