F4U. Yes. You are absolute heroes.

If the Tornado was realeased by HB and is provided a Map as is the case with the F-14 the perfect environment is the one in which it saw its most combat use with largest numbers of aircraft. Iraq would be the perfect map IMO but we are talking a huge map to be realistic to combat operations. British Tornados would provide just as much enjoyment, the GR1 was very similar to the IDS variant. Like I said before TIALD was employed on the GR1. The JP233 was used to successful effect in combat in 91, as was the Alarm missile.

Great to know people are on it. Thanks

Really nice work. May I ask, would you consider trying to make a HMS Illustrious or Invincible mod in the future?

Mirage radar CONSTANTLY losing lock on low flying targets!!!

The PRF button is worth mapping I find it helps when notching occurs. In my opinion it varies with the aircraft type you are engaging as well. -
** F-14 Road to Release + Christmas Update!! **
westr replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I don't consider it a low not getting the F-14 just yet Nick. The module looks incredible I can see the undoubted progress you are making that's enough to have faith that you will deliver probably my favourite aeroplane of all time. Plus I can appreciate the new features that will be implemented in this module, that's why I forgive your 2017 prediction. Really excited about the pilot model for the Viggen. This answers the question for me that eventually we will see one for the Tomcat. Glad your having some time off over Christmas. Enjoy yourselves. Best wishes. -
Cobras quote stated Multi Seat jet aircraft.

Hopefully a Tornado and then maybe a Navy Phantom or an A5 Vigilante. The possibilities are endless. There are lots of cool multi-crew aircraft
-
Well I say that but I would just love to see a Tornado. But you know what I mean.
-
Well like has been stated it would be incorporating a lot of the software development that they have done on previous modules. Referring to the Viggen and the Tornado, the Tornado incorporates a lot of advanced technology with TFR and a capable ground mapping radar and even the GR1 was capable of carrying the TIALD self designating pod towards the end of desert storm for LGB strikes. Add to that the jp233 runway denial weapon, the variable geometry wing and the unique flight model involved. Plus aerial refuelling. I would say there is plenty there to set it apart from a Viggen. Most harrier variants were strike aircraft but they are vastly different to a Viggen or Tornado.

I have a hunch it's going to be a Tornado. Maybe it's wishful thinking but if it's true I wouldn't want any other developer to do it. My two favourite aircraft developed by heatblur the F-14 and Tornado IDS. Would be a dream come true.

Bags of potential. And judging by the Mirage it will get all the little details I look forward to. Pilot body. Improved sound. Now that I play in VR I struggle with working mirrors and FPS but find just blank mirrors look so ugly. Would love the possibility of the mirrors turning upwards like we see in the Su33/Su27. But that's just little details, still have to pinch myself and say I'm flying a harrier in DCS the RAF skins look so great on the AV-8 btw, and it's just so cool. Well done Razbam.

tried this a while ago I wouldn't say it was a FPS improvement in terms of my FPS indicator but it seems to run smoother and got rid of some stutters. I run VR

* DCS: F-14 Development Update! Scan, Lock, Fire! *
westr replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Well general radio chatter then in DCS is lacking. I do have high hopes for the heatblur Tomcat. I do think I am going to become completely and utterly addicted to the F-14. -

westr replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Reading the update the fluidity of chatter from the RIO will add greatly to the immersion. To me this is a big thing I think it will really make you feel your there in the cockpit especially combined with VR. This isn't currently replicated to a large extent in DCS i.e chatter, though this will be the first two seat proper combat aircraft for DCS it's going to be intriguing. -

westr replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hi heatblur guys. Is there a chance you could update us on how you are planning to record sounds or have perhaps already recorded sounds for the distinctive sounding TF-30 engines? -
You have to remember that the way DCS is and always evolving the developers of the modules often have to keep updating the module to keep it perfectly functional. I think this needs to be considered regards the pricing as well.

Wow what an update. Thanks guys. -
Try aerial refuelling

The Sea Harrier was nicknamed the Black Death by the Argentines during the falklands war. It had a reputation as a widowmaker but in a different way there both feared and respected.

Wow. Looks great.

With the current crop of aircraft and a theatre of operations concentrating on the latter stages of WWII I would argue as well that the De Haviland Mosquito would be an appropriate big hitter for the British side of operations. Two excellent American aircraft in the P-51 and the P-47 three for Germany with the 190 109 and Me262. With the introduction of the Mosquito it became the answer to the prayers of the RAF who's operations changed drastically after the Battle of Britain and started to concentrate over occupied Europe. Such an incredible aircraft with the range and versatility to perform a number of roles and boy would it be fun to fly in DCS with that row of cannons in the belly and machine guns in the nose, as well as being different from what we already have. The downside being with a complex flight model and twin engines and obviously more complex engine management, it would probably be more effort than any developer would be prepared to put in.

I would like to see the Mustang III variant for the RAF if possible. Love the Hurricane and would love to see it with appropriate era units.

I do agree that as good as it is, with Deferred shading on the Normandy colours need some adjustment, I do feel Nevada looks spot on though.
