  1. Ground units. Tanks, AAA, B17, etc.
  2. You and DavidRed will be very happy ... can't say the same for the P-51 pilots. :megalol:
  3. Probably won't know that until sometime in October would be my guess but you've got plenty of time before you have to purchase to get the discount. I've already used my WWII backers selection to get my license number so it works already just have to wait till release to play.
  4. Looks amazing and let all the Mustang lovers start crying about something now.
  5. I've found pretty much all of this to be very true ... don't know what games ballistics needs to be fixed. I'll add that the Mustang has better cockpit visibility, gunsights, and the accuracy of the .50s are much better than the German counterparts especially at medium ranges. Once you use up the ammo in the 20's its also time to rtb because the German 13mm are pretty much useless.
  6. DoW server has some bugs today on the three lake mission. Got blown up twice spawning in and the second time a enemy plane came over the airfield as we were getting warmed up and killed 3 of us on the ground. Anyone else had the bug with the enemy plane warping around also? It usually stops and returns to where its supposed to be but I've had it on other maps too.
  7. I think it may be the scenes settings but I'm not sure. Mine appears the same as yours but I have most of the settings to low because my computer really sucks. I still get bridges, power stations, and the airfield buildings but everything else is pretty much gone.
  8. Guess its time for a new video. :pilotfly: How much flight time does this bird have if its range is 750 miles? At top speeds it could almost cover that in less than 40 minutes.
  9. I go up to 3-5k meters in the FW190 but its rare to run across anyone and there really won't be a high altitude opponent for the Mustang till the 109K4 gets here. Even then until the B17 AI is made I don't see many battles happening in the 7000 meter+ range. As far as spotting I'd love to be able to spot a little dot and get rid of the flak that gives away one sides position on MP servers. You may not know what it is but it would be there to investigate.
  10. Any suggestions for a good mic/headset for use with Teamspeak 3? Won't be doing anything else with it but noise cancellation would be great since I have a 4 year old. Just want something to use while playing MP on DCS.
  11. I've heard aces in interviews state pretty much say the same thing and that included the guns being barely audible on their own plane. They've also stated that the flash from the gun barrels was nothing pronounced like the movies and one german ace mentions in the Bf109 that the mirror was pretty much useless because of the planes vibrations shaking it. He said if you could actually see them in the mirror it was already too late.
  12. Just wait till we get the Bf109K4 because runways online are going to look like a B-52 had made a run over your airfield unless they learn this one first.
  13. I don't read German so what are they trying to show in the first graph. When both rounds meet in the trajectory? The second one I understand in that its the convergence but if you want all rounds to hit at the same altitude its 300m but they don't converge until 600m? Just don't understand why one starts at 20 and the other at 120 in the first graph.
  14. How else would anyone and I mean ANYONE find the radiator knob? :smartass:
  15. MG131 Muzzle velocity 750 m/s (2,500 ft/s) Effective firing range 1,800 m (2,000 yd) Not sure which MG151 is modeled but the listed stats are as follows. Mg151 Effective range: 1000 m Muzzle velocity: 850 m/s (AP-T); 960 m/s (HE-T, HEI-T); 1030 m/s AP(WC) MG151/20 Effective range:800 m Muzzle velocity: 805 m/s (M-Geschoss); 705 m/s (HE-T, AP) So pretty much the max range is 800-1000 meters depending on the ammo. I will say that I believe the rounds in the DCS Dora will self destruct at a certain distance. Realistically the maximum shooting distance with 20mm is less than 500 yards if you really expect to hit anything and a prime shooting range of less than 300 yards to put alot of shells in a concentrated area. I don't know the arc of trajectory but the 20mm rounds drop alot. Don't even use the green tracers as a guide if your worried about hitting with the 20s because it is quite different.
  16. Manual states that normal operating RPM is 1600 - 2400. The maximum normal RPM is 3000. They do offer guidelines to engine warmup and taxi temps which probably aren't being followed...atleast I haven't online.
  17. I've lost more planes to engine loss than I've been shot down. I found cruising around 2500 rpm or less seems to help alot and don't stay above 3000 any longer than necessary. Keep the temps around 100 water 110-130 oil so adjust the radiator as needed. I've lost cold engines because I had the radiator full open when it didn't need to be and I've lost engines to MW50 that I know weren't running for 10 minutes. Watch your engine temps when your getting ready to cut off the MW50 because if they are too hot when you cut it off ... boom. 13-15 seconds radiator open is usually what I do when taking off and climbing. Adjust accordingly to what your doing (diving down, combat, or lots of turns). I'd give up my MW50 if it would keep all the Mustang 75 people from crying because frankly the Dora can compete without it.
  18. I've had a few sub 2 minute kills now and this one was with about 30 rounds. I'm getting pretty good with headon attacks with the FW190 now but finished it with a deflection shot. Once you get the hang of the guns and tactics to employ with the FW190 its very easy to kill Ai. sub2minutekill.trk
  19. I agree that spotting objects against a background is the hardest thing ... doesn't even matter the distance because I've lost objects that were less than 2km away because of this. I don't think we should be able to view objects from 20km away or anything but somewhere around 5-8km with no background other than the sky would be great. Maybe somewhere around 3-5km if you looking hard against targets with a ground or ocean background. I have huge problems with stuttering when close to the ground or large dogfights but my computer frankly sucks. What concerns me is that other people have the same problems and that might be because of the netcode or servers.
  20. I don't think the FW190 can outrun the mustang in a straight line ... or least I haven't been able too. Once I lose my speed/altitude advantage its time to get out of there in the FW190. If I have a mustang on my tail and hes barely out of accurate gunnery range I can usually escape by starting a shallow to medium climb. I'm not sure if the FW190 can outdive the Mustang but it does it's not by enough because the only time I've out dove a P51 was from about 12k ft. I think he either pulled up to keep from snapping his wings or he didn't want to follow me that low. Now FW190 gets into serious trouble when Mustangs have a speed and altitude advantage because they can do most of the maneuvers that the FW can and some of them they are better at it. Serious evasive maneuvers are needed in these situations but the good pilots usually know how to overcome them or are working in pairs (or more).
  21. I've just submitted a profile that I made and I'll let you know as soon as they check it. Contains pretty much everything you really need except the bombs/rocket controls and radio because to be honest ... I haven't used them yet.
  22. I've been constantly downing the AI P51 with less than 60 rounds and have killed it in as few as 22 total (11 20s, 11 13mm) now. Just think of Ai P51 as mobile target practice and not a real representation of the FW190s cannons. I shot down a human player in a 1 second burst in a head on yesterday. Quickly fired and looked back to see him plummeting to the ground on fire (no wings missing).
  23. The only thing I would not be sure about is the 1 pilot thing per mission and if your only running this mission one time (I'm assuming) because that's a lot of work on the mission development side. As far as stats maybe have someone screenshot it at the end of each mission and compile them at the end of the campaign or weekly.
  24. Was this the three lakes mission you guys had on last night because ground forces look like they were in different location? I had a great time on this/that map and it was easy to find a dogfight. Unfortunately my DCS crashed as I was fixing to punch holes in a P51 and the server had changed missions when I tried to get back on. It did currently favor the team with the best ground attack (P51s) but I didn't even care about that to be honest.
  25. The manual says to keep the temps around 100 for water and between 110-130 mark on the oil. If you hold the radiator switch open for about 15 seconds it seems to keep it pretty close to this range no matter what. If you fully open it (around 30 seconds from what I can tell) it seems to keep the engine way under that mark and I think its around a 15km-25km reduction in speed. Someone else could check it. Most engine losses seems to be from continuous climbs or circling climbs usually in combat with full power so I will watch that. I don't yank the throttle around but usually leave it in one place.
