  1. The three main HOTAS systems seem to be: X-52/X-52 pro Thrustmaster Cougar CH Products Fighterstick and Pro Throttle If you're on a budget, the X-52 is the way to go. But if you're going pro, the Cougar and CH Products stuff are considered the 'enthusiast' equipment. But don't ask which is better, it might end in tears! :P
  2. Happy birthday mate, have a good one!
  3. Hey, thanks for that. That's good to know!
  4. s'oright, s'oright :) Good luck with it!
  5. First of all, it sounds like you're leaving the profile editor open when playing Lock On. You don't need to open this unless you're editing the profile. To load your profile ready for flight, you just need to right click on the joystick icon in the system tray and select the profile. You also say that you got the profile from Lockonfiles. You need to make sure that the key stroke configuration within the Lock On options matches those in the profile. For example, I have the air brake mapped to the large button on the thottle (in the centre of the rotary). In my Saitek profile, the button is mapped to the 'B' keystroke. In the Lock On options, the 'B' key is linked to the air brake command. You need to look in the profile using the profile editor and see what buttons are mapped to which keystrokes, then update the Lock On options accordingly. Otherwise, it might be best just to make your own joystick profile. I hope that's clear and/or helps! :P
  6. That's correct. You will need to rebuild your profiles from scratch.
  7. Glad to hear it. :joystick:
  8. Ooooh, I see. Thanks! :)
  9. No worries at all. The Saitek software can work in mysterious ways :P
  10. What's an Alpha Jet mod?
  11. Look on the page I showed you. Two up from the Pro drivers is the standard X52 driver, and it is the SD6 beta 2 driver.
  12. I think those are the same files that I pointed you to Poko. I just thought of this. If you're trying to reinstall your drivers and the old software won't remove, there are some registry entries that may need to be deleted before reinstalling the software. Here is a link for the list: http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=11104 I personally have NEVER found these entries after uninstalling the Saitek software, but if they are present on your system, you may need to delete them.
  13. No problems. Let us know if any of that works out for you
  14. I always use the drivers found on this page in the Saitek Forums: http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=11552 Rudder and joystick drivers can be found in the list. SST software found at the bottom of the list. The other thing is: I was getting that same message you got when, for example, trying to load a joystick profile on the Saitek rudder icon in the taskbar. Not saying you are doing something similar, but just in case....
  15. It's looking great fellas! You're gonna have to crack open a bottle of virtual champagne when it's done!
  16. Does this mean that you're setting the button inputs within the Lock On control options? If so, it's best to make a Saitek profile and assign button inputs to key strokes. I think Lock On suffers from craziness when trying to directly set up button inputs within Lock On.
  17. Haha, that's such an Australian joke. But it doesn't work because Aussie women don't take no flack off of nobody
  18. Both are great, but that second one is the shiznit. Did you make the template? If not, where did you get it from? It's very detailed!
  19. Just to add about the E8400. There is a thread going on about it over at the anandtech.com forums about places in the US that are taking pre-orders. That might give you some ideas on where you can obtain it and for how much. They are saying the chip will be released on the 21st, which is less than a week away.
  20. I find that logo a little.....subtle. :P
  21. You fellas may have seen this already, but here is the apparent nVidia roadmap for the first half of 2008: http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTQ0MCwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA== The 9800GX2 and 9800GTX should be arriving during the Feb/Mar timeframe, with a 9800GT to follow. But according to the article, the 9800 series is not new technology. It is just a GPU die-shrink to 65nm.
  22. That's pretty cool. I suffer from the nVidia full shadow bug, so am quite jealous of that. Nice work on the new playtoy!
  23. Are you running with full shadows Majesco?
  24. Hehe, I wonder if you could get 3 9800 GX2's onto a 780i motherboard. 6 GPUs. mmmmm.....unnecessary...
