Or if you want you can convert a DPDT ON-OFF-ON switch to a SPDT ON-ON-ON switch. Here’s how. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gq6qeck3yijvxxi/DIY%20ON-ON-ON%20Switch.pdf?dl=0

Interesting question... I’m racking my brain here. I served as a mechanic on the AJ37. I only remember hanging RB75 on the fuselage pylons. But I seem to remember something about it could hang on the wing pylons, but the computer could only handle 2 RB75 at the time, or something? Unfortunately I’m not sure, so my reply will probably just add to the confusion. I will check with some friends, still in service...

IF YOURE USING LOGITECH WIRELESS DEVICES!!!!!!!!!
Goblin replied to Baldawg's topic in Virtual Reality
What kind of Logitech devices do you have? I have three devices connected to a single Unifying 2.4GHz reciever. I don’t have any crashes related to this device. The fact that you don’t experience crashes when using a powered USB hub suggests a power issue on the mainboard. It could be the USB controller that is struggling. Doesn’t have to be the PSU itself. But since the problem can be replicated on another PC it would suggest that the problem is caused by the receiver. Hard to tell. But this is the first I hear about this problem, and as I wrote earlier, I don’t experience this problem myself. -
Ooooooooo... Hand controllers! Will be fun to experiment with.

** F-14 Road to Release + Christmas Update!! **

Don’t worry! The Viggen pre-release vids was pure PR genious. So, your PR balance is still good... ;) Merry X-mas and a happy new release year! -
IF YOURE USING LOGITECH WIRELESS DEVICES!!!!!!!!!
Goblin replied to Baldawg's topic in Virtual Reality
I’m using a wireless Logitech trackball, keyboard and mouse, without any problems. Interesting find though. -
:-D I’m still waiting to see how the switches will hold up, in the long run...

Haven’t put one together, unfortunately. But you can find a lot of info in the build thread at Mudspike https://forums.mudspike.com/t/a-diy-radar-controller/3752

Thanks! No, I had a leftover VKB pincher style gimbal from upgrading my VKB Black Mamba to their new cam gimbal.

Thanks, Bo! I sometimes think I spend more time making controllers, than simming ;)

Sure! Here’s a vid I made during construction, to test the switches. The upper switch closes approximately half way, and the lower switch closes at full deflection. So the upper switch is held closed while the lower switch is activated. When the upper switch is released, another button signal is sent. So, the upper switch is directX button no. 1 and 3 and the lower switch is button no. 2. When the trigger is pulled all the way and released, the button signals 1,2&3 is sent, in that order. Or just button signals 1&3 if the trigger is pulled halfway, and then released. I hope that made any kind of sense ;)

Nice work, Lobinjävel! :) I’ve made a Radar controller... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=189685

21:9 Monitor Stretch/distortion
Goblin replied to Wrench's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
At 21:9 the AR should be 2.3333. Did you try that? -
how is everyone dealing with clickable cockpit in VR?
Goblin replied to hannibal's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes, but... That means you need to have the physical space to move your hands like you would in a real size cockpit. Which means that if you are sitting at a desk, your hands will hit the desk, if you try to reach certain things in VR. Same problem, if you have a HOTAS, and you need to reach something close to your throttle, and your throttle isn’t the same size as it’s virtual counterpart, or not placed in the exact same place. A mouse or trackball may be a better solution for a lot of VR users. I use a trackball, that I mounted on a shelf, to my right. -
He is! Have a look at my review of the BRD-N. A bigger version of the D mechanics, but same in principle. http://www.mudspike.com/review-brd-n-black-stork-joystick/ Merging VPC and BRD is a really good idea! Will be interesting to hear what the future will bring...

A civilian aerobatics aircraft? Gutsiest move I ever saw, man! ;) I love the Christen Eagle! D1B, for sure.

Updating to Oculus Home 2 made my DCS FPS suffer. Where I normally get a solid 90, it now switched between 45/90 all the time, back and forth. Like ASW is turning on/off/on/off... I then switched to the classic Oculus Home screen without the dash, and DCS was back at solid 90 again.

I would guess that having a curved display, would make the optical lens design easier, with less distortion. Epsecially when widening the field of view...

It’s hard to be specific when I don’t know your settings. There have been reports about bad performing Nvidia drivers. The latest ones seem ok. Try updating. Also, try setting everything on the lowest setting and see if you get a good framerate. Then start increasing one setting at a time.

It differs a lot depending on airline and airport. Some don’t allow it, some do. It’s actually not that uncommon. (I have worked in cockpits for years)

The JAS 39 Gripen doesn’t have thrust reversion, and can’t reverse on ground. The Panavia Tornado has thrust reversers, but I don’t know if it can taxi in reverse. Many airliners can reverse on ground, and do ”power back” from gate, in stead of ”push back”.
-
why should the stick be held backward during taxi?
Goblin replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
The Mk. IX had a free castoring tail wheel without any form of lock. -
The Mustang was said to be a good trainer to learn how to handle the Texan/Harvard ;) But I agree! I’d love to see trainers like the Texan, Tiger Moth, etc. There are many trainer haters, but in a sim as advanced as DCS, it makes perfect sense to have aircraft that are easier to learn on.

Or you can program the arduino to give out repeated signals. I built my ejection handle using a teensy and the MMJoy2 firmware. When the handle is pulled, a switch closes and it sends repeated signals until I replace the handle again. Here’s a link to my thread about a single eject command, which I still think should be implemented :) https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2934886&postcount=27

Another data point for those thinking about VR
Goblin replied to hansangb's topic in Virtual Reality
Before I got my Rift, I had a 34" Curved 21:9 3440x1440 screen. I thought it was awesome! Such an incredible improvement over my old 27" 1920x1080 screen. Then I got the Rift. I then realized that I didn’t know the meaning of 'awesome' before I got the Rift. 2D screens are better than VR in several ways, but the total experience is a lot better in VR. That’s at least how I feel...
