It's not limited to the Hornet - I've been experiencing similar massive drops in performance in and around airports. One mission it will be fine - then reload the same mission and the FPS drops like a stone until you fly away from the airfield.

My guess is if you buy FC3 in the current sale and upgrade to MAC when it lands it will work out slightly cheaper than if you buy MAC when released. But it's just a guess.

I can only imagine what goes through the mind of a brand new DCS player trying to join a multiplayer game.... OK, select role....I'll pick an F-15....clicks a slot....no response...huh....clicks again, again, again...nothing....is my PC okay?....tries scrolling the list....nothing....tries again...nothing...oh wait, it moved a bit....tries clicking a slot....nothing....won't scroll...is the game broken?.... etc

Just a bump for a 'cockpit shake' slider in the special options. The Mig-21 is an incredibly immersive experience because of it.

Master arm - on. A/G mode. MAVs selected. TGP on and firing laser at target. MAV un-caged and seeking laser.....but it seems to be blind.

I know WIP etc but are there any plans to de-blurrify the indicator lamps? They only become readable if you zoom right in.

If you don't want mirrors you're left looking at those ugly black voids - maybe an option to flip the mirrors out of sight like the Su-25, Mig-29 etc? (In case anyone's having a touch of deja vous I made the same request in the Viggen forum :))

Bit more science - a kamikaze style dive from around 4k 7.3km launch cue

FOR SCIENCE! :book: Even at 290kph with the max ias screaming I couldn't get a launch cue until 7.1km.

During the Fighter Pilot Podcast Wags mentioned Vietnam was in their sights.

According to the DCS encyclopedia the Kh-25ML has a range of 20km. According to Wikipedia it has a range of 11km. In-game I can't get a launch cue outside 7.2km - more or less identical to the Vikhr's max operational range. Is this a limitation specific to the Ka-50 (perhaps the laser's max range) or a bug?

I can confirm there's something strange going on - I tried mapping Backspace into my throttle profile but it wouldn't work; had to remap the keyboard shortcut in DCS controls.

I hope they introduce an option for 'cockpit shake' when they do the face-lift. After flying the other helicopters it's eerie how calm & peaceful flying the Kamov is.

Launching a Vikhr absolutely tanks performance. Watch the GPU usage & FPS counter (no AA, AF-8x)

First thing - make sure you're editing the 'SnapViews.lua' and not 'SnapViewsDefault.lua' Then find this bit of code..... [13] = {--default view viewAngle = 83.847038,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -12.471437, x_trans = 0.358480, y_trans = -0.041337, z_trans = 0.000084, rollAngle = 0.000000, ....and set the 'viewangle' (FOV) to what you want. One thing to note - when you first enter the cockpit the FOV will not be e.g 83.8xxxx so you need to hit 'reset zoom' using Keypad_Enter.

Flying the Ka-50 earlier and the smoke from firing a Vikhr tanked my fps from locked at 60 to single digits. That's....new.

If you leave the gear handle in the UP position your brake pressure will drop to zero. Make sure the gear handle is placed in NEUTRAL once the gear is up. It still catches me out occasionally.

I really wish people would stop posting this video.....it's making me pine for a stick extension. :joystick:
