  1. well depending on how the engine is made, using scripted ground interaction, and effectively turning the AFM on and off, may be much harder than just doing it properly.

  4. well you should be thinking twice, but when it comes to the world of 3d you dont have much choice, unless you want to be different for the sake of being different, when it comes to its professional usage. But with that said a 3000-5000 dollars piece of sofrware that has broken menus when you scale up your text, is appalling.

  8. Im running SLi, but it being off, changes nothing, updating drivers also does nothing.
  9. Ive been getting strange shading issues, it looks as if the models on the aircraft have not been smoothed, but they have. The issue only appears when light is hitting an area from a sharp angle If you look at the screenshots, youll notice jaggy shadows on the planes, where there are round shapes. shadows are set to high
  10. From what i see, the Russian forums seem to be much nicer, and they dont seem to take everything a devs says as an announcement, and that it will definitely happen. But also the problem is both ways, something is sometimes announced by wags, and theres no indication of it in the Russian part.
  11. you can turn it on an off freely, i turn it on and off, when i need to, having it off is much better when doing rocket or 23-250 runs, and when you want to do some turns fast, its also very useful to turn it off while keeping auto turn to target, on, and you want to turn away from a target, while retaining the ability to turn it toward the enemy quickly, and accurately. i have the heading pilot bound to my joystick. Basically dont listen to people telling you "its not realistic" because you probably dont have a good FFB joystick, or any kind of FFB joystick, and even then its not comparable in accuracy to the actual joystick, you may or may not have pedals, and then they arent comparable to the real thing, and to top it all off click trimming in the game is just frustrating, that is to say it doesnt work realistically at all. Do what works for you, and what you feel most comfortable with.
  12. same here. but it sometimes really annoys me to see a full server and only 3 people on the teamspeak, sometimes i dont play because its boring being alone. that said DCS really needs an ingame VOIP.

  14. yes but the issue happens on flat planes as well. someone said that at sharp angles i.e. low altitude the shkval can get big errors when slewing it, but this isnt mentioned in the manual, so idk whats really happening, but to me the range calculation is so annoying id rather not have it, makes night fighting a right pain.
  15. ive had it over flat terrain more than rough, and usually the flat plains near the sea. Go figure.

  17. the laser distance can jump randomly up or down after the moment the laser stops lasing, sometimes it jumps way too high just by touching the shkval slew, this has only started happening in recent patches, Ive had the shkval start counting the distance upward after the laser stopped lasing, and kept counting up until it reached 100 km, even though the laser only goes up to 15, and i didnt even touch the shkval slew keys. Also on some parts of the map, or some missions it can be a real pain to use, and on some its fine. Its become so problematic id rather not have a range calculation when the laser stops, if the actual thing is this awful, i dont think it would use the range calculation, heck id rather have the option to manually dial it in after the laser, than this god awful automatic thing. Doesnt sound like its working properly.
  18. turn the heading out pilot off and on, so you dont need to fight the rudder. the biggest issue is the trim and when you trim forward you cant pull the ingame joystick all the way back, oh good FFB hotas where art thou.

  21. It used to work great, but now where the distance setting can randomly change to a very small value after the laser stops firing, its an exercise in frustration.

  24. you head straight for em notching or turning like crazy you fire off your ETs and then you run like hell.
