guys, if you have only the slightest clue how much work it is, how many hours it takes to make such missions, then you should appreciate what the dow guys, or any other mission builders/servers do for the community. sometimes people are sitting weeks for only one mission(heck ive read just yesterday here on the forums about a guy who built a mission for over 1year). if you think about that, dont you think it is just fair to ask the mission builder or the guys running the server if its ok for him/them to use that mission?? i have to confess that until yesterday i wasnt aware that its that easy to just grab another guys mission.im pretty shocked that this is really working the way it is. but especially in this case, where you without any effort just have to play on a sever once, and then easily have access to hours or weeks of work of someone, it is not too much to ask if it is ok to take that mission. i think that should be common sense out of respect to the guys putting the work into such missions. i know you guys didnt know that it was me who built the mission, but you guys knew where you got the mission from.the dow guys not only have server threads here, but they have their own website as well, also they play on their server...so there is plenty of oportunities to ask. EDIT: also once you ask, you might be surprised how generous people can be.

[MOD] How to animate a Tank track ?
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to Lilkiki's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
thats a tiger right???its looking awesome! when do you plan to release it????any ETA? sorry that i have no clue about your question and cant help you. -
yeah, thats the tough part.what helps is to always use the same FOV.also try not to focus on the runway beneath you, but look straight ahead and de-focus your eyes on the horizon.
-
funnily i get lots of pilot kills online.but thats what i aim for tbh.engine and cockpit.also wings go off quite easily on the p51 as well.not as easy as on the dora though.

Enhanced and detailed grass mod
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to T. Jacob's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
awesome mustang!looks way better now without the shimmering...definitely the best texture mod so far in my view. is there any logical reason why with this adjustment of the mod, my performance is back up? -
hey guys, i just wanted to inform you, that guys from 141st are stealing your missions.they just renamed the dogs of wwii winter warz mission and run it on their 141st server. just a notice from an old friend and the builder of that specific mission.they claimed that they took advantage of that mission with track recording...if that is possible, than they probably have other missions from dow as well....pretty cheap that they dont even ask. shame on the thief

yeah i know that most disagree with me here, and prefer it like you jcomm.all i know is after getting used to it, i would never ever even consider to use a curvature setting for my rudder axis again.

fürn anfang schau das dein approach speed etwas höher ist, klappen voll raus, je nach speed und höhe bei der schwelle oder schon davor schub auf idle. ab da willst du so knapp wie möglich über der piste "flaren".aber nicht allzu lange sonst kommst du automatisch in eine 3punkt landung lage.je geringer der abstand zwischen fahrwerk und piste desto besser.dann entweder einfach den stick "loslassen" oder leicht vor drücken.(mit loslassen meine ich nicht wirklich loslassen aber einfach keinen druck mehr ausüben=zentrieren) du kannst auch zweipunktlandungen mit takeoff klappen oder auch ohne klappen machen, allerdings ist das etwas kniffliger und balloony's sind wahrscheinlicher.funktioniert also, aber da musst du das ganze noch sauberer fliegen.viell spaß beim üben...aja baloony=go around( es funktionert zwar auch nach nem balloony noch ne 2punkt landung durchzuführen, ist aber eher abzuraten) for the beginning try a higher approach speed, full flaps, on threshold or slightly before(depending on speed and altitude) throttle to idle, try to flare it as close as possible towards the runway.dont flare to long though as this will force you into a 3point attitude.then just either release the stick or push it slightly forward(release=center the stick, do not take your hands off the stick) its also possible to do 2pointers in all kind of configurations(take-off and clean flaps) but its a bit more tricky and you are more likely to balloony if your touchdown isnt smooth enough. balloony=go around(although you still can land the aircraft after a balloony in a 2point attitude, i wouldnt recommend it.

yes it really is a superb mod...unfortunately its the only terrain mod where i notice a performance decrease. with other terrain mods i even notice an improvement over the stock terrain. -
Possible beta FM bug involving bouncing after a crash?
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to Harpoon's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
its true that the g-breath effect is not really good implemented yet...but the fact that they are delivering the most realistic sim aircraft for pc simulations proves that they have top notch devs. shit dora?a little bitchy today huh? -
what Yo-Yo said about the x and y axis is i think also true for the rudder axis.if you leave it at default linear curve, at first it will feel very reactive and it will probably take a while to get used to and to avoid over-reacting.but once you get the feel for it, it becomes very intuitive. i avoid any curvature on any axis and dont have any trouble. the advantage of using linear settings for the axis is, that you have more precise control at the ends of the axis,...where it matters, close to stalling.so you will be able to fly the plane closer to the edge. (no not 2.0) but it will give you also another advantage...like Yo-Yo said, with linear inputs you will get a better resemblance to what the real aircraft feels.

Possible beta FM bug involving bouncing after a crash?
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to Harpoon's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
the g-breath effect was added like two patches ago or so(for p51 and fw190).it seems, that this effect is coupled with the stick position and the planes speed...so if you pull on the stick, and have reached a certain minimum speed, you will get the g-breath effect. this certainly needs a look by the devs, but its an unimportant glitch, and very likely has nothing to do with the flight model. btw, you get the same in the p51 -
how to best set up my video card
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to fitness88's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
well im no expert, but i think as a first step you could set everything to application controlled when possible.especially things like anisotropic filtering or antialiasing.it was claimed here on the forums a few times, that overwriting those settings can have bad effects on dcs's performance. also at least in my case, switching anisotropic filtering to off, will give very blurry textures.so i always make sure to have especially this setting to application controlled. the rest i think pretty much depends on your setup.meaning whether you use 1 or more monitors.whether vsync is enabled and so on -
server all of a sudden invisible
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Multiplayer Issues
the server is up, i am one of the admins who make sure that its up and running.as i said, i can log onto the server machine with teamviewer just fine and see that its running. -
while it was never a problem before with this server, now all of a sudden i cannot see the -= ACG WW2 Server(EU) =- in the servers list anymore. not even a direct connect via IP is working, but gives me immediately a "connection interupted" message.like its not even searching. interestingly though is, that i can log onto the server machine just fine with teamviewer and load up new missions.
-
well i hope this thread soon gets moved from the mods section to a 3rd party subforum.
-
in case you havent noticed there are other 3rd parties already developing other early ww2 aircraft. really, for dcs, any new aircraft is good news! btw, awesome news...i havent noticed that thread until now...may i ask which company is doing all that?

yes, very very good mod!!! -
scenery map objects like bridges? i already use MIST but dont have a clue what the sanitization module is
-
seriously?only paypal now?
-
so with that script, objects which get killed during a mission stay destroyed when the mission gets restarted?to which objects does this apply?static objects or ground units or both?
-
^^this also no mention of fw190 bugs beeing fixed.(rearming bug i.e.) also no mention of new fw190 features beeing included or at least the one already claimed to be inlcuded with the last patch(windshield damage i.e.) the thing is, i doubt this is the case.i assume they were just "lazy" or didnt want, and didnt bother to include a proper changelog for the 190.which would be just as frustrating
-
ok i managed to add custom kneeboard-pages to certain aircraft, and i also managed to add custom pages to certain missions... what i couldnt get to work though: -add custom pages for certain aircraft into certain missions also, would there be a way to get rid off the default kneeboard pages on a server?so that when players join they automatically have a reduced customized kneeboard?
-
no mention of re-arming bug for the fw190. actually no mention of any bug fixing for the 190 or any changes.also no mention of any new features or already "claimed to be inlcuded" features like windshield damage. and still no mention of 109
