  1. Nice video, looking forward to her more and more. I can't speak for future projects, only LN can do that, but they have said a number of times that they aren't going to release the MiG-21 as a beta and so far I've seen no update to this stance.
  2. With WWII, I tend to prefer the German planes so once the Dora comes along I plan on primarily flying her (at least until the K4 comes out, then I might split between the two). Not to say the Pony (and Thunderbolt) wouldn't get seat time at all, but the German fighters will get far more seat time with me. Even started preliminary work on a German themed nose art to slap on my aircraft:D. Granted nose art was more an Allied thing, but I want to have a bit of fun with my aircraft's appearance.
  3. To be fair, there wasn't any info about anything else but the Dora pre-order announcement. Had they mentioned more than just that one thing, then I'd have wondered what was up.
  4. This is the thread that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friend. Some people started necroing it not knowing what it was, and they'll continue necroing forever just because.

    Release??

  6. Yeah I don't see Kenney coming back and don't blame him. Granted of the two crowd funding efforts that were successful, both appear to still be okay despite initially falling through. But delays and changes in leadership, along with the uncertainty created by those things, has likely soured crowd funding for awhile. I'm sure the possibility exists of them succeeding to raise funds, but I don't think we'll see people being as gung-ho about it as they were about RRG's KS when it started. I spoke up because I saw what I viewed as bullying and I got accused of being Kenney by one agitator and stalked for a couple months afterwards. So yeah, it was that bad.
  7. Ah, well maybe I spoke too soon lol. I see what you mean about it being redundant for reward selection if that turns out to be the case. I get three reward slots and the only things I really cared about was the Dora and printed manuals for both Dora and K4, so that's what I've selected. At the moment I know I'm definitely getting the Dora if it is selected as a reward so one out of three isn't bad, and hopefully soon we'll eventually find out whether the manuals will come or not. However, if it turns out we still get the DCS World Dora in August for selecting it as a flyable rather than only as a reward, I might replace my Dora rewards selection for a P-47 manual for when I fly on allied side. That's of course if ED does decide to do printed manuals - if not I personally am okay with just getting them printed myself. I guess we'll see in the July update whether he means $40+ flyables list or just those who backed to the level to get the Dora. Or he might rewrite the previous statement to clarify that.
  8. Aw, they removed our posts we did before they remembered to lock it, sad panda:cry: Thanks Wags for the update, that answers everything in relation to the Dora.
  9. That's assuming ED decides to continue with the KS rewards promised by RRG. They may turn around and say "Guys we can't do all six for $40 we'll go out of business, you get only one flyable for $40 along with the map". While as a backer I'm hoping ED is able to take on the KS reward obligations, to be honest I can't blame them for saying "Sorry that was someone else's promise not ours". My pledge amount would have gotten me the DCS World Dora, but at the moment I'm not actually expecting to receive a free key for it unless Wags/ED says otherwise. Like Sith said, we just have to wait for the update and cross our fingers.
  10. Not sure why there isn't a "Both" option. And like Cichlidfan said by the time it releases this poll won't matter. Many on here are always hungry for the next module anyway, by the time the MiG-15 is out (if indeed it does come out) a lot of those who were interested in the Sabre will likely buy the MiG-15 - if anything they will buy it just to try something different.
  11. In terms of engineering textbooks that's actually not a bad price, considering some of the ones I've had to purchase in the past.
  12. I wish, but unfortunately we aren't going to see this from ED, only way we'd get it is if a third party decides they want to deal with the holes in the information for it. Since it is unlikely to happen, I think the best option is to go backwards on the timeline since going forward doesn't seem to be an option with all aircraft right now.
  13. Not breaking news, though I think the announcements of this has been lost in the noise a bit as people have been focused on the 21's release. Cobra said in the initial announcement about the changes in the team (back in Feb) that the MiG-23 was not in their near future. He's also made statements in the past that showed the next module they are doing isn't going to be an F-4, though it does seem that some here have not let go of hope yet lol.
  14. SLI slots on mine are pretty close together as well. Like ENO said, a good case with ventilation setup right is key and my setup is similar to what ENO laid out. I have a decent size case with fans in the bottom and front to pull the air in, then fans on the top and side of the case pulling air out, with the rear fan slot being devoted to the CPU's liquid cooling radiator. I haven't had heat issues so far.
  15. Now I'm really looking forward to an eventual MiG-15 module.

    Release??

Appears so, but at least with a bolt-on we'll still have them without being required to carry a centerline pod. While I'd love to have one that could carry R-77s, I agree that most likely we'd receive an ML/MF, probably a 100 times easier to find the data compared to MLD. I can get used to the lay out, but I will admit I've never really liked the color I've seen on these either. Ricardo's cockpit for the Blackshark has been the only cockpit of that color I've actually liked. I get that the Russians had their reasons for it, but just never really cared for it. -Image Removed-
  17. If EDGE and 1.3.0 is slated to be the next version and it isn't going to be finished before the Sabre and Dora are scheduled to release, we may see that first time when they release a module without a major version update. Only other alternatives would be to either change their mind on skipping a 1.2.9 release or saying "Yeah we know we said July for Sabre and August for Dora, sorry not going to happen guys". I would suspect when faced with this ED would change their mind and make a pre-1.3.0 release version (1.2.9, 1.2.10, etc). Granted they could certainly put off the release of the Sabre and Dora until 1.3.0, but I think I'd stay off the board for awhile and avoid the great forum war of Summer 2014 :shocking:

    Release??

Whew, got bolt-on's:v: thank you for that update Cobra!

    Release??

Wait, so the MiG-21 doesn't have chaff/flare dispensers?

    Release??

That's not surprising since it is a Belsimtek product, they prefer to release a beta before making it a final release later, all their modules have been like that so far. The fact it'll be a beta is normal and doesn't impact MiG-21 at all. Wags has said that while there will be an impact, it will be minimal since the RRG group is now employed by ED. Since we aren't party to ED's internal development we have no evidence to question Wags on his statement, so we will have to just wait and see. The Dora was an ED product from the beginning so I doubt it requires the same kind of integration that MiG-21 would require. Testing modules shouldn't interfere with their internal development because the people testing the product are not the same people that do the coding and models. Integration is a different matter, but since we don't know what kind of effort that is we can only speculate how long that takes. If they are skipping 1.2.9 and going straight to 1.3.0, that could be due to something big coming up that they wanted to start up with a version number of 1.3.0. The MiG-21 could always be pushed out in a small "hotfix" style patch, I can't imagine there is any reason why they would absolutely have to hold it until the next major update. I realize that has been the pattern of ED module releases so far, but is there anything written in stone that says they absolutely have to keep to that practice?
