    Release??

They should not have done that :devil_2:. Between assisted take-off rockets and now a nuke, I now have fantastic ways of royally f'ing up. I probably won't learn how to even turn on the radar for A2A engagements for awhile because I'll either be barrel rolling down the runway after twitching the pedals on rocket assist takeoff, or blowing my MiG up with a nuke trying to lob the thing.
  2. True I do think the model looks nicer, but with the real one being that bright it definitely gets attention. Those Angola pilots must have taken one look and said "Oh I HAVE GOT to shoot at that!" Interesting paint job on the one you posted as well!

    Release??

Good to hear! I'm glad you highlighted Dolphin's comment because initially I was wondering where people kept getting the June 20th release date, and thought "Wait, he was just joking about the MiG on his birthday, are these guys really thinking that's the release date?":D Well happy birthday!

    Release??

Completely understandable, I wouldn't be in much of a mood to give updates after a loss. My condolences Cobra. My bad Alicatt, I had forgotten that Dolphin had June 20+ in his post. Hope I didn't come across as accusing you because there was no accusation, I had remembered the birthday comment and figured people were running off on a tangent themselves. We are an excitable bunch after all.

    Release??

I get that feeling as well, really hoping we're right :)

    Release??

Would like it to be, but that is not the official word at all. I believe that started from someone joking about that being a good day for release because it is their birthday, and looks like people are starting to run with that.
  7. Wow I didn't know that was actually a real paint scheme. When someone posted this video promo in the original MiG-21 forum, I saw the paint scheme and thought "What aviation museum would have let him paint that MiG display like this for a commercial?" There's something about being a mercenary fighter pilot. "You got it, I'll fly it".
  8. You're right, I retract my earlier statement.
  9. Wow an A-4, great news! :pilotfly:
  10. Live adventurous Sith, seize the day!

    Release??

I'm sure you'll catch people off guard occasionally, just don't be too disappointed that it doesn't happen often;):D If I'm flying the 21 against more modern fighters, I'm not going into it with the expectation of remaining in flight for long. That way I won't be let down when this happens with an AMRAAM:
  12. Hmmm, I thought the engine sounded familar. Let's just hope it was post work for the video or just an ED place holder, and not the final sound. But I'm sure if we ask nicely Diveplane will give us a correct engine sound:D
  13. This thread should help: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122856
  14. Yeah I know:cry:, lol
  15. Yeah I have a feeling it isn't happening either, and I can't say I blame them since that is a bit of work. Then again, do they even update the manuals when something changes? Just major changes or minor? I haven't ever verified that, I just always assumed they did so I need to look into that closer. I guess I could always just print up the ED posted change log for the relevant aircraft manual and stick that into the manual as my DIY appendix.
  16. That's one issue that has so far prevented me from printing any manuals. I haven't ever checked if ED does this, but perhaps any changes or revisions that would change things in the manual could be put into a printable appendix, this way we could just print that up and stick in it the manuals for reference whenever there is an update, and then if someone wanted they could use some way of noting in the manual that there was a change (I'd use sticker labels or pen to write in "see rev sheet" for anything that had been updated). This way ED wouldn't have to make rewrites to the manual, just update the appendix of changes, and we don't have to reprint the manuals but instead just stick the new sheet in the back. Again, I don't know if they do this already or how feasible this is.
  17. I imagine the dust is still settling. I also assume it won't be in the third party section anymore since those remaining employees are now part of ED?

    Release??

For me at least, this would be more accurate:
  19. "Must spread rep around before giving it to Whiplash again"
  20. Wanted to put down that I already received a P-51 key while Luthier was still running the show. Hopefully ED knows who's already received them, with them having to pick up the tab I'd hate for them to send out additional keys to people who got it already.
  21. T-shirts, posters and strategy guides were definitely not any of the reasons I put money towards the KS, while they would have been nice I can make do without them. Manuals were slightly a reason for level of backing, but to a greater extent were the aircraft module rewards like the 190 - but like Krupi, my primary reason was to make DCS WWII happen. While I was hoping for a printed manual copy, I can live with the PDFs. If I want it printed out bad enough there is always the option to go to Fedex Office (or whatever printshop I can find) and get a nice printed manual on my own dime.
  22. I'm hoping we get them as well, especially if this entry on Wikipedia is accurate: "The Luftwaffe found the R4M missiles to have similar trajectory to the 30 mm MK 108 cannon in flight, therefore the standard Revi 16B gunsight could be utilized". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R4M If that is the case, then shooting down a fighter with the R4M is reasonable since it wouldn't be much different than shooting the cannons at one, though I don't know how much drag the launch racks produce. Granted if I'm flying fighter CAP I certainly don't intend on going up with rockets, but if I'm hunting bombers and get into it with a fighter, using a rocket on him can be fun. Edit: Granted the D9 has 20MM not 30MM, but I can imagine that it wouldn't be hugely off that they'd be that difficult to aim, unlike the 21cm rockets.
  23. I came across this movie today that a friend shared, never knew this movie existed before now. It is called "My Way" and is a South Korean film based on a real person, Yang Kyoungjong, who was a Korean conscripted into the Japanese army to fight Russia. He was captured by the Russians and then later conscripted to fight the Germans, where he was captured again. He was then conscripted into the German army and fought in Normandy, before being captured one final time by American troops. The man certainly got around. This is an amazing D-Day invasion sequence, though an inaccurate one. It is note worthy I think though for showing D-Day from the German side, where most movies primarily (and understandably) focus on the Allied side. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yang_Kyoungjong
  24. Haven't gotten to read the manual on her yet to see that, there is more that the 190 can carry than I originally believed. I'm assuming those launch tubes can't be jettisoned after firing?
