  1. I'll be honest, I had no clue of this aircraft before the announcement of the module, but it is a rather interesting aircraft. I this may not be a 1st day purchase for me, but it will be someday adding to my collection. Thank you for providing additional details.
  2. What no Fleet Defender?
  3. That is awesome, the gloves are an awesome touch.
  4. You have it in the wrong folder, It should be in your Saved Game folder under mods.
  5. Oh, that is a good point. thanks
  6. Miles can be applied to Pre-orders , correct?
  7. Sadly, the sale is over, it only ran until the January 29th...see below. Lunar New Year Savings (digitalcombatsimulator.com)
  8. I would recommend checking out ...Tactical DCS, they have been mentioned in the newsletters a few months ago. I recently did some formation work with them, it was awesome! It is really a great group that is looking to help everyone improve their knowledge and skill. They regularly offer class/seminar followed by flying session. There is also area to request a mentor and get more one on one work. .
  9. Rip, God speed and blue skies!
  10. Thanks for sharing. That would explain a lot, as the 2nd time I was trying to stay with another formation, and we were in the 260-300kts for a while. Last night I flew all over Syria in the 300kts range and never had an issue. Thank you for the information!
  11. 1st off awesome module! I only regret not purchasing it earlier, look forward to the variant being released. Now, I only have less than 10 hours in the jet, so I still have a bunch to learn, but on some of my longer flights I have experienced it twice where the alarm goes off and then the Altimeter, Radar and Hud shut off. The jet still flies normally until I try to land, but that is probably more a result of operator error than anything else, lol. Anyone else experience this same thing, is there something that didn't turn on or off? I'm going to go for another flight and will save the trk file. Thanks for any help on this!
  12. Duh...I guess that is why it is under the mod section, I didn't realize what section it was in. Regardless it is excellent work!
  13. Wow, I guess that this is the secret Helo that ED has in the works. It still looks a little bit in the early stages as several of the gauges don't appear to be working. I'm kind of surprised that there wasn't an official announcement.
  14. Start up looks pretty easy. Hopefully we will have it in time to help Santa drop some ......presents.....yeah....presents to all the kid on the naughty list.
  15. I recently switched to using rudder pedals, and as mentioned they aren't required but it does add to the control and in some regards the realism. I started sim flying by using the Z axis in the stick, and shortly before I switched, I started looking closer at my inputs and I didn't realize every time I was applying the rudder, I was also inputting aileron, again I didn't realize that I was doing that, as I was naturally compensating for it. From there I switched to Winwing throttle and stick (without the twist stick) tried using one of the sliders (on the throttle) for the rudder, that actually worked well. That set up didn't have any toe brakes, so it was still hard to fly any of the WWII aircraft. I also had to remind myself to reset it back to neutral at the start of every flight, otherwise it would usually equated to some sort of chaos. As mentioned before they do take some time to get used to, I think the A-4 is the hardest one to taxi with, but once you start getting the hang of, look out.
  16. +100, bring on the forked tailed devil.
  17. Thank you for your time and information, it made me really rethink the timing of this whole deal. I might update the GPU and go with something like a 2TB SSD just for DCS. Then go with a completely new build, for next year when more of the newer stuff comes out. As far as the goal, I think that the main goal is to be able to fly online with the graphics settings cranked up to med to high. I have no interesting in going into VR, but I would like to add trackIR, and upgrading my monitor to something in the 32" range. As far as my current settings, I had everything set to medium, but in order to get the most out of it for online, I just set it to low.
  18. So, long story short, I recently tried DCS online again and I'm hooked, but my PCs now isn't performing as I would like it to, and I have been told that I'm really just meeting minimum for what would be good for reliable performance for online gaming. Here is what my current set-up is.... Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz (overclocked to 4.0) Installed RAM 32.0 GB (Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR3-1600 CL9 Memory) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 MSI Z170A GAMING M3 ATX LGA1151 I currently have my settings on low, in regard to frame rates, 2 weeks ago I was regularly around 80-100 fps, today flying offline I was mostly in the 60 fps. So I'm looking for some guidance as to which way to proceed, as I have really lost touch with what is good anymore. I think what I'm struggling with the most is determine what CPU I should go with, any advice? I was hoping to keep in the LGA1151 socket, would I really get much of a benefit from spending $300 on this Intel Core i3-7100 3.9 GHz Dual-Core Processor (BX80677I37100) - PCPartPicker, or would I be better off going with new motherboard and something like this. Intel Core i5-12600K 3.7 GHz 10-Core Processor (BX8071512600K) - PCPartPicker. Regardless which path I go, it is going to be a few weeks/months before I'll be ready to start buying stuff. I haven't figured out how much I will be able to spend on this but let's figure $1500 is the cap. Thank you!
  19. I was actually looking into replacing my monitor and going to trackIR this year, but I'm going to hold off and replace the GPU, then the CPU/MB. Thanks for that information Maverick87Shaka, I have wanted to go with a SSD, I guess no better time like the present. My MB is MSI Z170A GAMING M3 ATX LGA1151, and I didn't see anywhere that it supports m2 nvme drive, this is one that I was considering Western Digital Black SN770 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive, think that will work? I'm completely out of touch on what is any good for a GPU and CPU/MB, any recommendations? I would probably be limited to around $500 for the GPU. Thanks again!
  20. QuiGon, thank you for the reply. I guess that I might be living in denial that it was my PC, but that it makes sense. In order to hit the 80-100 fps, I have to turn all the settings to low. Here are the pcs spec. Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor GBU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Yes, it was the same server, (4YA_CAU_PVE2_V2.21) , now that you mention it it does have several objects. The player count was around 15-20 on the 1st night, but next time it was down to 12 when I tried to enter it. Of those 12 players, I think that most of them were in the Sufa F-16 and AH-64, so maybe those are high demand objects. Last night I wasn't paying attention the player count, but I know that the server ping was down about 50.
  21. A few years ago I tried MP, and the experience was choppy at best, I was blaming our internet connection, late last year we updated our connection. Since then, I have been regularly testing my connection, we regularly see download speed of 700 Mbps (lowest within the last week was 589), upload is around 24.4Mbps, and the latency is around 22ms. So I finally tried MP again this weekend, and totally different experience, I had a blast, did a little informal formation flying, dropped some bombs and shot down some helos..... it was a great time. I was looking forward to connecting to the same server again, but this time it was completely different. After selecting the server, it was easily 5 minutes before it would connect and even after that time it was several minutes before I was to the point that I could select an aircraft. During this whole deal I have been monitoring my frame rates and normally it runs 80-100, but during the connection process it is usually very low 0-20. Any idea as to what is causing this? Is there anything that I can change to reduce the delay? It should also be noted that I have tried several times to get SRS to work and during this process and anytime I try to connect to a server it hangs up much worst. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to do more MP flying.
  22. Sorry, my bad I thought that someone was mentioning that it was one from Bat 21, regardless that would be a cool scheme to have on a bronco.
  23. The is a cool paint scheme ,but the aircraft depicted in the movie was a normal air force paint scheme.
