  1. Dude, that’s like…a million years! (S) I predicted 2024 back in 2017. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  2. I know it’s still WIP, but it is pretty important to point out that the AI for Apache flights being instructed to engage ground targets or “targets of opportunity” is completely useless sometimes. I’ve been observing their behavior, and for whatever reason they will pick a spot, usually max distance and about 150 feet AGL, and just hover and sit. I don’t understand what the problem is or if there is a blocking object, but why they won’t adjust or fix the blocking item to allow them to engage? Sometimes they won’t engage at all until I destroy a particular unit, like a MANPAD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  3. Thanks. For some reason I can’t get it to replicate. Not sure what I did or why it isn’t freezing again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  4. Okay. I guess this is old news then. Not sure why it would be news when it has been there for more than two weeks. Oh well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. I’m confused, isn’t the HB Tomcat stuff mentioned in the newsletter already present? I ask because I’m finding the autopilot functions are working pretty much like it’s described in the link from the newsletter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Yes. That’s what I did, and it works beautifully. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  7. Okay, I’ll post tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  8. I’ve been getting this a lot lately, and have not had this problem as much with earlier versions. DCS World will freeze or lock up my computer sometimes when I view an AI flight in external view. This occurs when the playing SP, I press F2 to view an AI aircraft and DCS World immediately freezes. It doesn’t detect a crash, but becomes unresponsive. I am able to get to the Windows Task Manager, but I can’t get DCS World to close. The only way I can get my computer functional again is to command a restart after Ctrl+Alt+Del. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  9. I don’t have to do any altering of the script? If so, that’s probably not for me, but I’ll try it as well as it is. Will it still work if I deactivate group or do I have to respawn first, then deactivate the group? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Oh good idea! I’ll try that. Thank you. Oh wait. No, that’s no good, because then that means they will land. I’m looking for the unit to just respawn from the runway only. That would be good to get them to land and takeoff again. Anyways, thanks for the suggestion. (I would probably use this if ATC wasn’t so wonky and crude) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. Deleted. Oops, wrong person. Sorry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. Ah okay. Shucks. Lua coding is completely out of my league unfortunately. My experience is, well…… what’s lower than beginner? Thanks for the reply. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. Assaulting the deceased equus ferus caballus, I see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Hey guys, I've tried finding an answer, but my small brain can not seem to understand how to do get a set of triggers to command what I want to happen. My goal is to have a flight, takeoff and fly a route that ends at the edge of a map, disappears, then spawns again right back where it started on the runway. The purpose is mainly civilian traffic that flies actual departure corridors. I got it to despawn, but I can't figure how to get it to spawn again back at the runway and fly the same exact route again in a continuous loop. Thanks for sharing your ultimate knowledge. Cheers.
  15. Not sure will help or not, but when I enter the MGRS coords, I always type in the trailing zeros. It works every time and haven't seen any problems getting it to convert.
  16. I created a training mission to practice using a FAC for CAS missions. Mainly it’s purpose is to practice creating waypoints and MGRS coordinates for attacks. However, I couldn’t just stop with that. So I added AI flights as well to increase the immersion of the mission and possibly found a bug. I added a B-1B to takeoff out of Nellis, fly up NE then W to the North War area, turn around and back track the same route to Nellis. The length and speed of its flight is almost perfectly timed with me, the player, finishing essential training and landing at Nellis as well. The thing is when I finish, the B-1 gets to Nellis first just by a minute or two and I witness this crew CFIT into the hillside after entering an orbit for the ATC pattern (more like a Marshall pattern, which isn’t correct but…..you know). I haven’t seen this happen with any fighter aircraft, which makes me wonder if bombers haven’t been checked to make sure the coding for them to fly for the pattern hold? (Marshall?) etc… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  17. I don’t have a link, I just remember seeing this in another thread, where someone in that thread mentioned this. Hearsay, basically. Who knows, I may have completely got it all wrong, but I remember something on the lines that the crabbing tendencies of the Apache are currently excessive. If it gets addressed or not, IDK. 18. Thanks all. To the folks about the tactics, my particular gripe stems from some of the instant missions where it’s obvious the intent of the mission is to hide or hold a position to take out an attacker. What I discovered is you can hug a mountain side (complete with trees to sneak around) that is angled backwards to the road an armored column is using. Like clockwork, they immediately know where I am when in LOS, even though it’s over their shoulder. I’m not moving, and I’m in a static hover, so I’m not sure how radar can see me and how they “know” I am there. I mean this area that they are seeing me is through a valley that is very narrow, and can easily be overlook, if they were human. Hence the question. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  19. I think I read that one of the top Apache YouTubers said that the amount of crab currently simulated is exaggerated to a degree. Who knows, ED may look into it and change it up a bit, however I remember they did say that at speeds above 100 knots, the Apache will crab. Something like in no wind around 100 knots, the FPV would be lined up underneath the right side of the head alignment diamond, 120 knots it would be just under but slightly outside to the right of head alignment diamond and so forth. 20. Oh thanks. I’ll read up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  21. Does the “tactical” freq do anything? It says 251.000. Was that meant as the flight freq as 127.50? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  22. I see. So AI skill level has no effect. That’s a shame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  23. So I’ve been experimenting with hovering and hiding behind objects. I’m starting to see that the FOV the ground units have is pretty remarkable and almost no limits like the AI enemy fighters. I’ve tried flanking many times and they always seem to find me right away and fire Sniper missiles at me as I pop up. What gives? Anyone know what setting to use to get enemy units within reality? 24. I’m more of a fixed wing guy, but ever since the Apache came, I’ve really enjoyed it in it’s current state. I don’t know much about helicopters, they are interesting to fly, and makes me wish I had the cash to drop for a rotor rating. As to the completeness, I think it’s okay to use and play around with. I think the only problem ED has now with this module and other heli-modules is that the combat scope gets smaller. So the need of detailed movement and behavior of infantry is very lacking and very telling of a simplified nature. Some things you see while driving an Apache, you don’t get to see while strafing in an F-16. Otherwise, I’m pretty happy with the Apache itself. I can’t wait for the first updates for it, and more goodies to play with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  25. Right and that still traps me, even though I already know that. This is why I am considering a way to just remove the position reports while dogfighting. I don’t know if that’s possible or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
