  1. I see your point, however, JDAMs don’t require a ground radar nor sniper pod and can still be employed by a single player without the complexity you speak of. (Using map markers) Yes it would be a “dumb down” version, but still can easily be used on a type of module we are sort of expecting. So in a way, it would be a Preplanned JDAM, iron bomb, CBU truck. Which IMO would still warrant a purchase from me. I don’t expect a full functioning, all accurate, weapon complete bomber. That would be so beyond the programming power and access of ED. The reality is if we do get a modern bomber, it will be extremely limited in scope and weapons. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  2. This is my observations as well. Shots with ACM cover up with sparrows tend to not work very well and miss consistently more than with the cover down. Yes it causes the missile to fire quicker hence in an ACM environment, but to me that logic shows sidewinders would be more logical to use for snap shots in a furball. I leave the cover down. 3. I respectfully disagree. I understand their focus is full fidelity, but that doesn’t mean never again. My concerns regarding mods is simply support and a well modeled cockpit. The problem with mods is they rely on the author to make sure it still works for a simulator that is always changing/updating. To put that into the charge of ED, would probably have higher reliability than a free mod that someone contributes on their spare time. Mind you as a hobby to them as well. Meaning they don’t make a dime. Granted, I haven’t tried any mods out there and I am speaking a bit of bias, but I don’t do them because 1) I don’t want to worry if they work or not every update, 2) I’d rather pay money for something that someone earns to keeping it working. 3) If I can’t get full fidelity, then I’d rather get the closest next thing. 4. I’d buy, even if it’s low fidelity or simplified. Same for any bomber. (B52, B2, B58, etc) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. I’d buy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. I’m sure this has been brought up before, but I’ll do it again. As DCS World is evolving into a simulation that is more in line with better graphics, more modules, immersion, ATC, etc., why cant we ask our AI flight group what their fuel state is? It’s always a guessing game if a refuel should or should not be done. Why can’t the player have a factual number? It has been this way for a decade now. Why can’t this be a reality? 7. Success. Thanks all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  8. Ah, no wonder. I think the Tunguska was killed, all three attempts because I didn't get spiked afterwards. I'll try again. Thanks!
  9. I need help. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I'm on the mission where I am supposed to do a high altitude CAP but I get retasked to go for a hunt for an elusive Hind. Reaching WP1 I follow the RIO's instructions, turn and fly behind Tank Hill, get spiked by the Tunguska, flee to the west back over Tank Hill, then again get the bearing and distance to the Hind. Problem is I follow that lead and I find nothing. Just cities and trees and snow and smoke plumes. I then double back after reaching Kutuisi? and head back west. Again, nothing but cities, roads, snow, trees, and smoke while flying at 4k feet. I noticed the voice over at that point isn't really following the script a bit after the Tunguska being destroyed, but I'm sure that's not the problem. Voice over says "Hind is spotted 15 miles east" Text says "Hind is spotted 15 miles, heading 110 toward Kutuisi" IDK, I'm confused. Now that I think about it more, maybe I'm supposed to fly 090? IDK. I need help.
  10. Check the advanced settings for HB F-14. I think there is an option for “Track IR used for Jester” or something of that nature. In your case, make sure it’s not checked or off. Also, double check the key bindings for the Jester menu. Sometimes they get deleted and you may have to create or reassign them as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. Interesting. After viewing the linked thread, since some people labeled some posts on there for scrutiny, I decided to look at a document that can’t be posted that seems to be referenced by many. I will tell you that it doesn’t really mention the words “stabilized”, but it does mention 20% minimum, and also includes maximum rotation speed when ambient temps above 90 degrees F. The SEC is mentioned, but doesn’t specifically say wait until SEC light goes out. It just says the light goes out reaching 20%. So in another way of thinking this, you would wait until it goes out? I think it doesn’t particularly say this because of the conditions that would warrant a later activation from OFF to IDLE. FYI, this is particularly pertaining to the -129 engine. 12. Oh god. Here we go again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. Correct me if I’m wrong, but also isn’t it proper procedure to make sure the SEC annunciation goes out before going to idle? Not just stable 20%? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  14. I just want to say that I really like the changes made to the campaign UI. Really nice. Much better than starting all over just to play a particular mission. Nice job! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. No, I heard switchblade respond to me potentially ejecting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. That’s the thing, I tried locating the tanker and I couldn’t get it to come up on TACAN. The only logical choice for me was to either eject off the coast or attempt to land or eject onto the deck. (I was close) Maybe I didn’t use enough foul language with the SU-30? Edit: that’s strange, I don’t recall getting the prompt to request a tanker. Maybe because my fuel was so low? Anyways. No complaints here. That’s a pretty intense scenario for a training hop. 17. Nope, I meant endurance. I believe optimum range wanted a far higher altitude and faster speed. Viewing the two, I chose the one that wasn’t as difficult to attain and able to quickly determine my odds of getting close to or on a deck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. Yeah, I stayed behind him this time and he broke off when I had 1500lbs left. I climbed up like a homesick angel and did endurance cruise @39000 to the ship. I tried to do an idle/space shuttle descent and time it perfectly but alas I had too much energy. (Gear down, flaps full, hook, speed brakes) I almost ejected to land on the deck. But I was a split second too late and had to swim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  19. On a Raven One campaign mission yesterday, I started on the carrier, after the INS aligned, I then aligned the HMD via doing the HMD bit then doing the alignment procedure. Later, on that same mission, I could not get HACQ mode to lock using the HMD. It would show the proper symbology in both HUD and HMD, but would refuse to lock. The only way to get a lock with HACQ is by the HUD only. The HMD was powered the whole time since the ground alignment on the carrier. I will post a short track soon. 20. Oooh okay. So you out turn him, and Iran interceptor runs away without a single bullet fired. Oh man, what a mission. Thank you both. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  21. So I am supposed to fight the Su30? With what? I don’t even remember having ammo loaded. The load out was two training missiles and the rounds were XXX. Am I supposed to carry something different? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  22. I just tried this mission for the first time, and I'm not really sure what I did wrong. I got all the way until Prince passes out, but I think the comms got messed up because an "escort" shot down Prince, then I turned to the south to egress from Iran, and the "escort" then shot me down. l was already low on fuel, so I couldn't really burn and run. What was I supposed to do?

  24. I seem to be having troubles with this mission as well. I'm getting stuck at inputting the Lat/Long for alignment. When I press the keys as instructed from the voice over, nothing happens. I'm still searching for answers to get this to work, but I'm not finding any solution. The INS turns on and shows digits displayed when L/G is selected. But when I press + or -, and even start typing in coordinates, nothing works. Help! Edit: disregard, I found documentation detailing what changed. I’m surprised the training missions were not at least changed yet.
  25. I’d say the biggest hurdle to learn with the F14 is just the variable geometry wing. How it moves automatically and like said many time without the careful eye can cause lots of extra stress and frustration. Yes it’s no FBW jet and adding with the wings moving it’s just more items to manage. Me personally, I love this module and fly it more than the others. I do dabble with them all (F-16, 18, 15, AV8, A10, M2000C) but the F-14 is my current favorite. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
