  1. You should ever need any aileron trim really, abit of right rudder on take off and abit of left rudder at 300knts to keep it straight
  2. Really I must have missed that update...
  3. To be quite frank I dont care if you believe me or not but here is the bottom line. The dedicated programme is nothing to do with RRG and they couldnt make one even if they wanted to. That is ED's job and Matt has confirmed that there is a dedicated programme in the works and that it will be tied in with EDGE. So there is absolutely no point in discussing in the RRG section of the forums about dedicated server software solutions for DCS, much less things like a second kickstarter.... In case you havent noticed I run the probably the busiest server in DCS and no one is waiting for the dedicated more than me.
  4. Hi Ilya, I have the $50 Alpha pledge on KS at the moment, This will grant me the Spit, P47, 109 and 262 if I am correct but not the Dora? Is that right? Many thanks Pete
  5. Not what I was told at Duxford and Tbh I'll believe it when I see it. I'd be willing to place a large bet that we see nothing till edge is out
  6. All I am going to really say on this is that if the MP doesnt improve soon I will walk away from DCS online. At the moment its extremely unstable and there is no sign of a dedicated programme till edge comes along which isnt a problem providing the game is stable in the mean time
  7. Blimey your quoting rules left right and centre cichlidfan recently. Swallow the rule book? back on topic, Glad to see paypal has come on board and hopefully we will get close enough for the Me262 :pilotfly:
  8. Here is hoping that it has fixed some of the stability issues. Hopefully...
  9. Matt has said that there is a micro patch on the way with a view to fixing some of the instability problems. I have also heard a few noises behind the scenes which are encouraging. Not time to put this dog down yet ;)
  10. No cant be done :( They use the engine, they do not write the engine. That said I have it on good authority that there will be a dedicated server programme for EDGE, how good it will be remains to be seen
  11. Useful post ... Oh where do I start on the issues with MP at the moment. 1.2.6 is a very unstable patch regarding MP and although we ID'd the problem that in the main that is causing it nothing has been done about it. 1.2.4 was a very stable release for DCS, I could run the VA server for at least a week with no reboot or restart needed. In 1.2.6 I think its a good day if it only restarts every 2 hours... The problems with DCS:W MP Will not be fixed by any module, they are for ED to fix and to correct bugs. Although RRG may have some good ideas for what to do with MP, they cant fix the underlying problems that are in the client Pman
  12. I've upped my pledge just on the back of this. Nice work :) Plus I want a 262 :D
  13. He said some months ago the target was the end of year unless he has said something recently I had not seen? The problem with the current is that it relies on the graphics engine for alot of the sim work. So you need to run that graphics engine for the sim to function, Which you obviously cant do from a command line. As for linux forget it haha! So until next year I think we are stuck with no dedi software
  14. We have all been there Mizzy. I only flew the Stang for the first time in Feb this year and I think I spent more time in flames for those first few weeks then I did in complete aircraft. I remember being quite adamant that the Stang was unlandable and I found that actually flying it online helped me as I was able to talk to people who do it alot and are very good at it. Its really not that bad once you can predict what its going to do and catch slides et al before they get serious. With some practice its a great plane to fly and I love doing the aerobatic thing with it. As Rock mentioned earlier, if you want to come online and chat with either of us or one of the seasoned Mustang pilots on the VA server we will all be more then willing to help you get her under control. Before you know it you will be doing touch and go's like a pro ;) Pman
  15. Once you have done it 10 times it becomes more about how smooth can you do it than can you do it. Personally I glance at the speedo when turning base to make sure I dont lose too much speed in the decent. After that I just feel it down to the runway. If your gentle with it then it really isnt that hard, Try to avoid trying to plant it on the deck, it should be more of a "fly" it onto the runway. Pman
  16. its behind your left shoulder behind the grate. If you have track IR and crouch down you can see it Pman
  17. Just an added point that if you already own DCS P51D in DCS:W it will work in DCS:WW2 and the Spit/109/P47 will work in DCS:W Those 3 will be released for free regardless of pledging. I personally think Ilya thought this was going to be alot more popular then it has been, perhaps it would have been if Ilya had been more proactive *shrug* As it is it is my understanding you do not get the P51-D or Dora for a $40 pledge. They are DCS:W modules and not DCS:WW2 modules. You can import them into DCS:WW2 but when they said "paid add-ons" etc that doesnt include DCS:W modules. That is why there is a seperate line for them at the bottom of the chart. So for $40 atm all you get is the P47, Spit MK IX and Me109K-4. If they get $150k then you will get the Me262 as well Pman
  18. Quite an FYI buddy, The key you have is good till the end of October ;) So you have a little more time then you thought :D Pman
  19. To be honest you just sound like a diehard Ilya fan or a massive hater of BoS. Either which way you cant be considered non-bias and therefore your opinion carries little weight As soon as it became apparent that the $150k was not likely to happen, without intervention from Ilya, it was easy to see that some people would back down as pledging $40 gives you nothing more then $10 if there are no stretch goals achieved. Thats just common sense and quite predictable
  20. Because Ilya made it clear that this would still be made even if the $100k wasnt hit.....
  21. Well ... 1) The people I am referring to in my post have not ordered BoS although we probably will buy/fly it 2) Supporting the genre is a false reasoning. This module will be made regardless now, thats done. Its just a case of whatever we get at the point of launch. If it doesnt get funded now they will release it further down the line. 3) One of the benefits Ilya is selling is Alpha and Beta access, which is an unfinished version of the game, so your point about that being a BoS tribute is now mute Pman
  22. I didnt say it wasnt possible. I said they have issues... Having spent 7 months now running VA I have tried many different combinations to optimise the performance on the server. Only my opinion from my experience.
  23. If you want some assistance then drop me a pm and we can get together on ts one evening and natter about it Pman
  24. I asked Yo-Yo about those when I saw him last, they made them specifically for the ED guys and pilots. I am still hankering after one ;)
  25. VPS servers have issues with the directx rendering as you have to effectively launch DCS to get the multiplayer working (even with the render turned off) As such you need a dedicated machine really (thats what VA are using) with a decent gpu chip to prevent server stuttering Pman
