  2. Please don't make a strawman out of what I said guys. I appreciate the nice graphics, but I will continue to insist that being able to track a contact against the sky and ground clutter at 1nm is a little more important. I will be patient for improvements.
  3. Yeah, I took them at their word when they said performance was similar to NTTR. Something must be wrong. I'm scratching my head over why this lighting change was done in the first place. Are we trying to keep up with the Joneses? Why now? Why ever? I don't care what other game titles are doing. If they had only improved spotting at 1nm I would have been very happy. I don't see much difference there.
  4. Well, I waited 5 hours for the 2.1 update. Guess I'll wait another 5 for the terrain and ground units. :badmood: Time to just call it a day...:sleep:
  5. What the... How do I install this thing? Nothing to download from the store. I have my keys. Can't do anything from the module manager. Do I really have to use a DOS prompt?
  6. If you're running 4k you don't need MSAA. For my part, if it's a choice between 4k and other settings, e.g. heat blur on high, I'll pick 4k every time.
  7. Honestly, the aircraft textures from the F2 view aren't nearly as important as being to able to see a fighter from 1nm. I've watched a few videos and so far it looks a little better in 2.1. It is still WIP, of course, but in my opinion this is where most of the effort should be for visual effects in 2.1.

  9. For 1944 other German bombers are more important. I've never seen a Ju 188 in a flight sim, and a Do 217 would be another good choice.
  10. This. I've killed plenty of pilots in DCS, both human and AI, but the damage you see on the aircraft is mere decoration. ED is working on a new damage model as we speak. There is not much point in picking apart the old one.

  13. That's about 32% assuming 419 gallons max internal fuel. It all depends on the pilot, indeed! :music_whistling:
  14. It mostly depends on the P-51's fuel state. If you artificially remove fuel from the wing tanks before takeoff the P-51 turns very well. But with the 109's climb and acceleration it should still kick the P-51's ass 1 on 1.
  15. The K4 is the favorite for multiplayer airquake. The Dora is the plane for actual WW2 combat. The view over the nose is not the Dora's fault. DCS does not model the refraction of light.

  19. As with most things in DCS, it takes longer than initially projected. Enjoy the Normandy map. Us lower-tier backers have to wait for the open beta.
  20. Just don't set the AI 109s to the higher skill levels. Otherwise they are indeed god-like.

  23. Awesome. Just got mine too. That little $40 wager I placed in 2013 has been a great investment. For now I'm keeping my head down on work and I don't bother thinking about Normandy. It would just be torture. I'll peak back here again at the end of May.
  24. This just seems like a rehash of a Myers-Briggs or Keirsey temperament test.
  25. That sounds like a deep stall to me. In the F-16 you can't AB your way out of it, either. You have to disengage the FBW AoA safety and rock the plane out of it. That said, my suspicion is that something is awry with the M2000 induced drag at medium AoA, as Cptn Smiley already hinted.
