  1. In one of the F-86 missions where you are tasked with destroying a hangar at an airbase (Sabre Strike.miz), if you also hit the buildings adjacent to the aircraft parking area, they will not only burn, but have many secondary explosions and effects for some time afterward. i've seen it again in another F-86 mission when shooting rockets at tanks adjacent to a building and missing the tanks, the building would go up like an ammo dump.
  2. Grab your favorite beverage.! This could take awhile:music_whistling: I am running a CPU similar (see in sig) and memory you have chosen. Working great. As to the remaining components, cost and performance wise, I am using the ASUS Z97-A MB. It is not an overclockers dream but then I seldom OC.:) As to GPU, I sorta, kinda, went overboard:doh: with the $$$ and got the NVIDIA Titan X. Great card and no complaints except as is usual in the PC world, better/equal has already come along and at less $$$. As to SSD I am using Samsung 840 Pro (Exclusive for DCSW) along with a second Samsung 840 EVO (for OS), and have a WD platter for odds and ends. Unless you are looking for bleeding edge and are willing to pay for the privilege, a comparable setup will do you well in DCSW, and except for the GPU that I chose, you should be able to get what you want within your monetary limit. Decisions relative to the one you face are never easy as you know the moment you pull the trigger, something "bigger and faster" comes into the market. Such is the PC world. I'm sure others will chime in with their recommendations, plus it never hurts to visit some of the "Geek" sites and see what they are all hopped up about.Good luck.
  3. Would be nice if they provided an "estimated" consumer price point for the VIVE. I sense costs will be a major factor for many "simmers" but then I could be wrong. I've personally spent waaaaay too much on my favorite pastime, and will most likely figure out a way to extricate myself from even further $$$$$ in the future. Onward and upward!!
  4. Simply based upon my personal experience, when it comes to rudder pedals, I would highly recommend MFG Crosswinds. yes, there are less expensive rudder pedals out there, but I will stand by cost/quality. One gets what they pay for.
  5. Concur with the above posts. I have 4690K and it provides me with everything I need to run DCSW at respectable speeds. Certainly it is getting some support from my graphics card (GTX Titan) but it also worked well with my former video setup. Save the $$ and use it for an SSD. Like you, I'm always looking at anything that might improve my PC capabilities, but currently all the offerings that are coming on the scene do not seem to have any great advantage with DCSW in light of it's older code. But I'm certain all that will change when 2.0 arrives on the scene.
  6. Cowboy10UK, You're going to enjoy the seat. Adds a whole new dimension to DCS. And with all the dedicated work Andre has done for us, it will only get better. Enjoy!!
  7. Like WildBill says, if that parking brake handle does not remain partially out AFTER you set the brakes, then they are NOT set.
  8. Thanks Andrey I was able to update everything okay and the A-10C is working as advertised as well as the P-51 and F-86.:cheer3nc: Those are primarily the airframes I fly so I'm a happy camper. You da man!!
  9. Thank you Andrey. As always you're there for us.
  10. This is the screen when I hit "Fly"
  11. This is all I have. SimShaker.luaSimShaker.luaAndrey, Only getting the initial error screen whenever I hit fly. No details. Here is my SS.lua file.
  12. Andrey, I have the boxes checked as you indicate and the SimShaker.lua up to date. Still crashes. Let me know what you need in the way of logs and I will try to post them to you. Only seems that 1.0.6.4 is at issue. The previous version works fine. Thanks.
  13. Andrey, Tried to install the new update but got all those failures again. Reverted back to previous install and it works fine. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. Okay, got it (1.0.6.4} to install but it stiops working everytime I hit "fly" within DCS.??????????? Reverted back to 1.0.6.3 and it works.
  14. No problems here. Although the install took awhile (we don't have the fastest broadband in my rural area) everything was pretty painless. Unlike many, I didn't deactivate all my modules in DCSW before the install and I ended up with the Mig-21 reactivation issue. I resolved that fairly quickly following the advice of Nick at Leatherneck. All in all, as regards DCS, it's business as usual.:pilotfly:
  15. Take your time. Seems like I go through this with every new OS I install. There are enough changes that cause you to have to modify your habits regarding how the darn thing works. As has been stated on many blogs, you will want to go to the "Settings" and adjust some the settings Microsoft put into the OS, so they are to your liking. It won't be long before they (MS) will be able to tell what type of underwear we have on:music_whistling: Other than the normal adjustments and getting used to the new "visuals"in the OS, everything as regards DCSW has been working fine for me. Does seem to be a quicker responding system. Enjoy and again thanks for all your help with the JetSeat.
  16. Actually I have both installed. The public release install is heavily modded while I leave the Open Beta install as it comes from ED.
  17. Thanks Sporg You da Man! That did the trick.
  18. LN is fully aware of this problem. Nick has made good on EVERY request for another key. With their work on the F-14 Tomcat and with DCSW 2.0 to be released in the near future (which should resolve this issue) I understand their hesitancy to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to squash this particular bug. I appreciate it is frustrating when it happens, happened to me so many times I ran out of Mig-21 activations, but in light of the products they have given us and the ones to come, I am more than patient with LN. Would suggest the same for others.
  19. Hope it works This is the screen I get when opening SimShaker for DCS World.
  20. Thanks Andrey Once again following your directions, I am able to get things working. Pressing Alt + Tab does finally bring the Jet Seat Handler up, but I am still getting that other app I mentioned. Strange stuff these computers:( All in all, things are working pretty good at the moment. Just need time to get acquainted with the new "toy".
  21. Thanks all. I must have porked something. When I click on the icon in the task bar and select "Start SimShaker for DCS World", I get the SimShaker aircraft settings, but not the Jet seat Handler. I get some crazy screen that makes no sense. Wish I could do a screen grab so you could see it. I have deleted SimShaker from my PC and reinstalled it several times. Even re-downloaded it again from the Dream Sim team website. I'll keep trying until I get this working as well as the rest of you have.
  22. Andrey, Trying to learn the ins and outs of your SimShaker. I appreciate one can create their own UWV files and use those as opposed to the default ones. My question is where are these stored and how does one select a user developed UWV profile. At one point I did see on my desktop an app that indicated it is simply a matter of checking a box on that image, but I cannot get that to come up again. I think it's called the Jet Seat Handler. Where one can adjust Vibration Level and select "use my own .umv files". I'm not feeling some of the effects in some of the aircraft that your layouts indicate I should be feeling, ie. the A-10C's cannon. So I thought perhaps changing it in the UWV Editor might help with that problem. Again, thanks for you help and patience.
  23. Put her in the seat and run the GameTrix Massage called "Surf". That'll sell her!
  24. Andrey, Google is my friend. Found out how to change those extensions and it is now a .lua file. I will still use the one you've provided. I do believe it is working now. My friend, I OWE YOU BIG TIME!! I suppose the best way to show my appreciation is to donate on your website. Consider it done. While I have your attention, a couple of questions regarding the controls. If I push the "mode" button the light changes from green to blue. Does it make a difference?
