  1. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/microsoft-windows-10-july-29,29232.html Some recent info.
  2. I may have stumbled on what is causing my problem. I looked in the "Saved Games" folder at the "Input" folder and found a default mouse .lua under the F-86 which had some odd additions to it. None of the other a/c even had that .lua in their folder.I deleted that .lua and so far the issue has not appeared. Well, that wasn't it. The issue remains. As I said it is random so I cannot seem to nail down the problem.
  3. My settings I have my cockpit view zoom set on the slider of my Warthog throttle. I have the external view{F2} zoom set to the wheel on my mouse {mouse Z) in the controls settings. I don't see where the two would conflict. Could be wrong. I removed the Mouse Z setting in "Controls" but then I cannot zoom when in F2 outside view. I thought it might be my TrackIR longitudinal camera but in removing that, all I did was lose that ability in-cockpit and the issue in external view remains. Still puzzled. Thanks for your input.
  4. I'll most likely buy the P-40 when it's released. While waiting for some AI to spar with, I will focus primarily on optimizing my skills in that bird. Not to worry Ellis/Pman, by the time I am capable in the P-40, there will be more than enough AI made available to provide me with an opportunity to put that skill to practice. If I actually manage to survive 1v1 in air combat, I have to learn about the intricacies of landing THIS tail-dragger without splashing it all over the country side. P-51, 190, 109! and then the P-40. Mercy, it is a challenge.
  5. Your call Charley. If you try to keep the A-10C "small", you might as well forget about the CDU. That one device could take 100 pages all by itself.:book: The thing I appreciate about your work, is I can excise out just those parts that I need when I can't remember ALL the "whistles and bells" in some of the modules. :music_whistling:Really appreciate your contributions and look forward to whatever you choose to offer in the future. As one who can barely operate a keyboard, I would be the last to be critical of someone of your abilities.
  6. Recently I have had an interesting issue crop up. Whenever I go to an outside view, and attempt to zoom in or out via the mouse (MouseZ Zoom View), all I get is a stuttering picture. If I hit ESC and select "Adjust Controls" from the window that appears, I can fix it simply by exiting out of that screen without touching anything in the controls, back into the sim and it works as expected. It happens so randomly, that I have not been able to associate anything I may be doing that would cause this. I can also tell when the problem is present in the cockpit view (F1) because as I move around the pit via my TrackIR, I see some stuttering of the view. Go to the F2 Outside View and Bingo, there it is.I did search on the forums to see if anything like this had been discussed. No joy! Can anyone give me some insight into where I might start to eliminate this issue? Happens with all modules. Thanks for any feedback.
  7. Here, here! ^This. You will only be able to offer a legitimate view once you have tried the "high end' devices out there. They are more expensive yes, and for good reason. Want "cheap"? in almost all aspects? That's your call.
  8. You da man!! Nick, birthday wishes to you. :cheer3nc:Take care of yourself as we simply don't have a replacement should you get too old to keep feeding us Flight Sim gluttons.:smilewink:
  9. Would need to see some prototypes plus it seems the $199 pledge may be implying the minimum market price for the individual sticks AFTER public release. I think I'll watch this one and see where it goes.
  10. Thanks Sith, Will accept that it is not a "biggy", but it seems to be the small issues that tend to detract from all the greatness of these ED offerings.
  11. Pineapple Pete, I think you can discern from the responses that many of us have already been down the road you find yourself on. Rudder pedals are not just an adjunct to these quality flight models that DCS has provided us, they are an absolute necessity in my opinion. Like many, I have pretty much run the gamut of what was available over the years in the form of rudder pedals. I now own and use the MFG Crosswinds, and find them to be far superior to ANYTHING I have spent good money on, to date. And like Yurgon, not on Milan's payroll, just saying it like I see it. Your mileage may vary.
  12. Thought it was me. Saw what you are referring to and just thought it must be my setup or settings. Those that are talented enough to provide us with these mods are certainly capable of fixing ANY issue.
  13. I know your pain. I have become used to having my "wingy" go into the hot zone looking like a merry go round with all lights flashing just asking the AI to "Shoot me first". Not sure if it is a big enough issue to address with some of the bugs that are yet to be resolved in many of the modules. As an exclusively single player myself, I think we are not going to get our issues addressed as quickly as the multiplayer folks. Just the way it is it seems.
  14. Looks great! Thanks for doing this.
  15. RCntrl+RShift while you push NumPad 2 key will lower your view and using the Numpad 8 key will raise your view.
  16. Piece of cake! Sith, It's easy to find the BMP. Put a big red label on it!:music_whistling:
  17. In know you specified under $130, but for about $10 more you might want to look at the ASUS Z97A motherboard. It has pretty much all the features you are looking for and would even have some legs for the future.
  18. It's great to see a confirmation from so many who have acquired their Crosswinds. I've had mine for awhile and they are everything people say about them. I don't often toot Milan's horn as I didn't want to appear to be a "fan boy" regarding his pedals, but they truly are the finest thing out there for us less than affluent sim pilots. I recommend them to anyone asking about/looking for rudder pedals.
  19. uboats, You da man! Thanks for this.
  20. I have found it helpful to wait until my wingmen report to me that they have contacted a target ie. armor, air defenses etc. and then I give the command to attack said target. Works most of the time UNLESS as was listed so aptly by kontiuka, there is a reason they can't at which all I get as a response is "unable". Gotta wait until THEY see the targets in the mission.
  21. Barnstormer1126, I think you misinterpreted my post. The questions you asked have been out there for some time and are very legit. This is the first time I've seen someone explain it as well as Homefries. Don't let your "newbieness" keep you from asking very logical/pertinent questions. Believe me, there are others that don't perceive themselves as "newbies"with like questions that simply don't take the time to ask. They simply make assumptions. You're going to enjoy what DCS offers and it seems you are at the start of a road that many have been on for years. And it's going to get even better! I think the only questions that some, including the moderators, will jump on are those where the answers could have been obtained by reading the appropriate documentations provided or via the forum search engine for threads where some questions have been answered ad infinitum. Other than that, most are very helpful and forthcoming with their knowledge of DCSW and they literally are from all over the world. Welcome!
  22. Uh Oh! Getting the popcorn ready for this one:music_whistling:
  23. Also try the approach where you change any minor thing in the Mission Editor , save it, and then ATC is your friend once again.
  24. You bet! I recently acquired an ACER XB280HK 4K monitor with G-Sync and at 4K I simply cannot read the onscreen communication messages. Am currently running at 2560X1440 and am pleased at that res. Even with that some of the GUI screens are difficult to adjust to.
