  1. Mea Culpa Just to clarify the "off-topic" posts to "King", I answered the OP's question with the A-10C. The "rabbit trail" came by trying to show why I preferred/recommended it over the Mig-21bis. Really has nothing to do with the aircraft per se', just the bugs remaining in the Mig-21bis. I apolgize for the hijack.:surrender:
  2. Okaaaaay! So King, Share with the rest of us Mig-21 pilots how you manage to get ATC to respond to your request to "startup" without actually starting the engine first.:helpsmilie: Remember, I said you HAVE to get the okay from ATC before you begin the start procedure. Since no one I have spoken to on these forums can seem to get the ATC to respond until AFTER they've begun the start procedure, I would be interested in your method.
  3. Okay, I'll play. King, I'll get into the A-10C (cold), you get into your Mig-21 (cold). We will neither be able to start the aircraft until such time as we actually receive an okay from ATC. You start at Nalchick and I'll do the same. I'll do my circuit :pilotfly: and meet you back on the ground still awaiting your okay to start up.:joystick: Deal?
  4. What? Wasn't even going to wade into this discussion until "... cats are better than dogs.":shocking: Nuke the cats!!!:smilewink: A-10C!!
  5. This! Twitch is not something that even interests me so I am grateful to have it reposted via YT. With YT I have some control over the event and can start it and stop it as I see fit to more closely examine some aspect that gets my attention. To each his own. Bottom line, I am grateful Wags takes the time to do this for us. Like most I anxiously await the time I can have all that goodness on my SSD.

  8. In all honesty I haven't been using the Mig -21 module in awhile due to some other problems so that "fix" I noted may have been only in a previous version and is no longer fixing the problem in the latest iteration 1.2.16.39472.729. Seems frequently when the squash one bug, another pops up. Quite the challenge. Sorry for your problem and wasn't able to help.
  9. Yep! As has been noted, this is a bug and Leatherneck is aware of it. The temp "fix" recently has been to open Mission Editor in the mission you've chosen to fly and make a small change in the mission (ie. change fuel load or loadout) and save that. The ATC should then be heard when contacted. They are not the most prompt however:music_whistling:. I often forget to take these steps when flying the Mig-21 and have the issue. But if I do the "fix" it does appear to work. Good luck.;)
  10. Yes I did! Thanks to you Nick. I know this issue has been an ongoing problem for you folks, but knew all along you would do the right thing.
  11. Ouch! Just got burned by the Mig-21bis again. Now it won't activate because it has finally taken ALL my available activations. 31 days and counting I suppose. ED says not their problem and haven't heard a peep out of Leatherneck.
  12. Talk about going the extra mile! Thanks Wags. (You actually have time for this?:music_whistling:)
  13. There we have it. Right from the horses mouth. It simply doesn't get any better than that. Thanks Cobra.
  14. Just recently obtained a Cooler Master Storm mouse and keyboard. The mouse replaces my old Logitech. The jury is still out as to whether there is any noticeable improvement in mouse accuracy. It sure is Purdy what with all the neon green lights and all, but that doesn't replace my desire to have a mouse that simply works every time without me even having to think about it. Do some research on gaming forums. Lots of experience and OPINIONS out there. Beware of fan boys.
  15. May have to expand on my "geekiness! Sith, Probably long past time for me to come into the 21st century with all this Facebook, twitter, Zip, Zap, and what all.:smilewink: Still kinda stuck in the 90's when I first got into sims/computers.
  16. For those of us who haven't a clue what "Twitch" is,:dunno: we will continue with our patience for the public release of DCSW 2.0:joystick:
  17. Yep! Reading the tea leaves. "You're grasping at straws. " In the absence of patience, what do they have left?:smilewink:
  18. Starway, It works a treat! Just great stuff and I am really enjoying your work. Thanks.
  19. Welcome to the club..... .....of diminishing activations whenever you keep the Mig-21 bis module in your stable. I feel fairly confident from what we've seen from LS, they will address our issue and do right by us. Be patient, if possible.
  20. I suspect this issue is buried so deep in the Mig-21 code that the folks at LS are having some difficulty locating it and correcting it. The work-around takes care of the issue but it is evident the underlying cause has not. And of course those of us that had the problem lost activations while trying to figure out what was going on. hopefully LS will do us right.
  21. Well No Joy! Also found out that even if one makes changes in the "OPTIONS-Controls" page on every module, those changes are NOT reflected in the game when you hit the ESC key and are presented with "Adjust Controls" option. One has to go into each place and remove unwanted key assignments. Went through that little exercise with every module and iteration, still have my problem. Onward and upward.
  22. Nope! As I said earlier, the only "view" settings I have are the Zoom View set to my Warthog Throttle Joy slider 1 and my center mouse wheel set to zoom in/out when in outside view (F2). I thank you guys for your ideas. I went in Options-Controls and removed every key assignment that had to do with views. Couldn't believe how many there were in the modules I NEVER fly, such as the "Easy" ones. I also found that there were two mouse key assignments under "Cockpit View" that assigned Mouse 3 to Camera Transpose Mode(press and hold) and Mouse 2 assigned to Enable Visual Recon Mode. I have removed all those even though I'm not sure how "Cockpit View" assignments would affect the F2 External View. Well, I'm off to see if all these deletions did any good. I'll report back if that was the solution and again, thanks for all the help.
  23. One can only imagine the relief for the folks at ED when they do get 2.0 out of the barn. Personally I would have blown a gasket long ago if I was those folks constantly being bombarded with all the speculation and hyper-gimmieism (new word, just for DCSW fanatics).
  24. Beer? If it wasn't for beer, I would have to take personal responsibility for the lousy flying I do.:music_whistling: Beer on board is the best excuse EVER!!:smilewink:
