It is .text file How do I make it the correct .lua file?
-
Okay. Created the "Scripts" folder in the proper location. That folder now contains SimShaker.lua as well as a text document labeled Export.lua, which is blank. Started SimShaker and still get this message:"DCS World export feature tune up. Could not find DCS World at this PC". I have DCS on it's own SSD (H) and not on my C:/ drive where the OS resides. DCS starts and runs fine, just no response from my Jet Seat. If I select the JetSeat Massage under the Gametrix app. I get a pleasant massage, so the motors and the seat are working, just can't find out why SimShaker is not working in DCSW. Thanks for holding my hand through all this. I'm sure you have better ways to spend your time.

Not steam. Have purchased ALL my modules from the ED store. never even visited the Steam site.
-
Getting there! Followed your instructions and SimShaker is now installed. I am now getting a message that it "cannot locate DCS on this PC" followed by a message about a .lua file. I have it connected to a USB port, .Net installed, SimShaker installed. Now what? Frustration starting to set in.
-
Andrey, Do you think that having installed Win 10 as my OS could be causing the problem? Also, I have the seat connected to a USB port plus power through the adapter included. I'm fairly sure it is connected properly as it does work in the massage mode and the JetSeat Control Panel works fine.

Hi Andre, Okay I'm not able to get the SimShaker for DCSW_setup to install. I keep getting an error message. Tried several times, no joy. Since the seat works in the "massage mode" I assume it is working properly, just getting no effects from DSC modules. Assuming it is due to being unable to install the SimShaker software. Also could you clarify which port on the onboard sound the speaker plug goes to. Thanks.

Does DCS play well with Windows 10?
Chief1942 replied to Teeter's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
MS is scamming us. Yes, IF you revert to your previous operating system before the 30 days from installation of Win10. You get to use your "key" for that install once. After that, if you don't purchase Win10 via the market, you will be without either OS. Also, in the fine print there seems to be a situation that if you make a hardware change to your computer that requires a reinstallation of the OS, you will NOT be able to reuse the previous OS "key" for either the free Win10. or your previous OS. It is also suggested that Microsoft will at some near point delete all the keys for previous OS's from their inventory, thereby forcing people into purchasing Win10. I know this all sounds like some conspiracy theory, but all that I just posted came from a reputable website that has been around as long as flight sims. When they talk, most pay attention. I would link to the article but then I would possibly be violating the rules here on ED Forums. -
Just moved to Win10 and immediately got the keyword validation issue. Followed the recommended procedure and used the new keyword that Nick provided some time back, and it seems to have worked. Time will tell. Other than that DCSW seems to work just fine. Had to visit the Registry one more time but everything seems to now be working.

Dayum! The "goodies" just keep coming. Thanks guys. -
Atta boy Nick. Some day this nagging little issue will be behind us and you won't have to keep fixing it for us.
-
Yes!!! This has to be the most informative, entertaining , and straightforward websites I have ever seen. Should answer pretty much all the questions that will and have arisen over the development of such a complex system as the F-14. One can only hope ED and the other developers are paying attention. Best of luck. Even if the release is necessarily pushed back, the presentation on the Leatherneck site is enough to keep us anticipating getting all excited and stuff.:smilewink:

I have the early release of the Acer XB289HK and I am very happy with it. Running DCS at full 4K does present some scaling issues as far as script on the screen goes, but the picture is awesome. As some of the larger 4K screens become available and the prices come down to a more reasonable level, I will probably move to a size larger than the 28". Have to be mindful of "lag time" as that could really spoil everything if it is too high. Perhaps something in the 40" range but then I have the desk space that it seems is limiting you. Good luck

Got it. Thanks Andrey, I've ordered those .

Thanks I take it the adapter that comes with the seat converts AC to DC and uses the barrel type plug that is usually used for such adapting. If that is the case, I think I can make the correct acquisition of what I will need. I have found adapters that would allow the Russian plug to be plugged into a US wall socket. May be more simple than I am making it, but will know once I have the seat. I will be mindful of the polarity of the barrel plug. Don't want to damage this seat as from what Andrey indicates, they are not easy to get any more.
-
Adapter Okay, Andrey has my seat in transit. I know I will need a Russian to USA electrical adapter as Andrey has indicated. For any of you in the USA that have been down this road already, where did you obtain the correct adapter from? I've done a Google search and all I find is adapters if one is going to Russia with USA plugs, not the other way round.:( Appreciate any feed back.:helpsmilie: Thanks.

Very impressive Chris. When we are provided such we often lose sight of just how much work goes into you guys feeding our habit. Looking forward to my first flight and I suspect it won't be quite as good as yours, in spite of the couple of hiccups you had.

F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible
Chief1942 replied to hegykc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not yet. I believe hegykc has not firmed up a price until such time as he can prepare the sticks for release. He has mentioned an approximate price range in a much earlier post. We will see. -
It's a Yankee thing. It's a holiday in America where we exchange gifts but it's really the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Won't go beyond that.
-
Yeah, I know. Is it Christmas yet?;)
-
Man o man! I am so looking forward to getting one of these seats. Andrey is working on it at the moment. This has to be right up there with TrackIR. My hats off to Andrey because he is selfishly giving of his time to make a wonderful DCSW even more enjoyable. Salute!

I have an ACER XB280HK w/G-Sync. It is capable of 4K with my Titan X GPU but I don't run it at that as I simply cannot make out the script in DCS modules. I believe it is simply a matter of scaling and hopefully ED will rectify that with 2.0 Am currently running at 256x1440. Works for me until such time as DSC scales better without having to incorporate a bunch of .lua hacks. My FPS stays pretty much at 60FPS (screen res) with all settings at max.

Yep, Can't seem to download this mod. Perhaps later. -
I agree Up to now our entire visual frame of reference regarding flight sims has been via monitors/tv. So much of the interaction required on our part relies on use of the keyboard or other add on devices. That 5 year timeline I sense is about right for VR to become the new "frame of reference". Heck I started on an ATARI flying Chuck Yeagers "sim" and could not have even imagined the level of immersion we enjoy today. Time marches on and technology right with it.
