Just above idle. Costs and weight are neglegtible(considering the total price of the aircraft and its weight). You don't start the second engine, while the rotor is still stopped. The brake is released and simultaneously throttle is adjusted so that the rotor spins quickly to nominal rpm. Then the second engine is started. Fox
-
And also again: It is a question of construction. You can hold the rotor of the Super Puma with one engine running for up to 5 Minutes during start up. No problem for the freewheel part. It is made for this. That way you can start the rotor in very high wind conditions. Different experience here. If the german army or air force had this "lot of problems with rotor brakes" there would have been more information available about that to the aircrews. As with every mechanical part the rotor brake can fail, but that is not a general problem. Fox
-
Yes, when ditching. Otherwise you can seriously damage vital parts of the rotorhead. Do you really do this to stop the rotor in a manned helicopter??? Why should a rotorbrake not be able to stop the rotor effectively? That's only a question of construction. As AlphaOneSix said, the rotorbrake can be so strong that it can hold the Rotor even with one engine running. Example: Lynx, Super Puma. Fox

Some were equipped with a rotorbrake. Simple as that. Btw I guess this thread will be deleted. Discussing other games is not permitted here. Fox

VoIP integration angesprochen...

While building a mission I sumbled over this. The Anton as well as the Dora use Jet fuel for refuelling, not Aviation Gasoline. Demonstrated in the .trk During the replay I switch to F10 mapview. Once I klick on the Airfield properties, you have to klick on the resources button manually. Strangely this is not recorded during in the track. You have to "okay" the resources window several times away to see it refreshed during the refuelling process. Then you will see the reduction of jet fuel. Both aircraft are seen in the track. Fox

Yes it is. Create a triggerzone and a trigger for "Radio Transmission". Then you need a .ogg or .wav file. Set freq and modulation and consider looping. The higher the transmission power, the further the reception distance. Fox

[REPORTED]Anton´s Generator/Electrical bus not working properly Case 1.1: Generator CB in Battery CB in Engine RPM ~1800, arming the inner four weapons first, then the outer ones does not trip the Generator CB Case 1.2: Generator CB in Battery CB in Engine RPM above 2400, arming the inner four weapons, Generator CB trips off -> RPM connected to arming the weapons and Gen CB tripping Case 2.1 Generator CB in Battery CB out Engine RPM ~1800, arming the inner four weapons does not trip the Generator CB -> Same result as Case 1.1. Electrical load is low enough to not trip the Gen CB. Does the battery get charged at 1800rpm? Case 2.2 Generator CB in Battery CB out Engine RPM ~2400, arming the inner four weapons first, then the outer ones does not trip the Generator CB -> No Overload. Without the Battery connected, the Generator´s CB has no overcurrent. But above 2000rpm the uv-light flicker, which points to another problem. Case 3.1 Generator CB in Battery CB in Engine RPM ~1800, firing the inner(4) weapons only, the Generator CB trips off after ~3 seconds. The Battery can sustain the firing mechanism till the ammunition is depleted. -> I couldn´t find a warning/caution/note in the real Anton´s Handbook, that prolonged burst are prohibited or cause problems. But it is mentioned that the inner 4 weapons are to be cocked first and the 2 outer weapons after to prevent circuit/battery overload. This is mentioned several times. And in DCS:FW-190A8 this 6-weapon-cocking-overload is modeled. In the chapter for weapons testing the amount of ammunition for testing is mentioned, but nothing about overloading the circuit, if fired for a longer period of time. Case 3.2 Generator CB in Battery CB in Engine RPM ~2200, firing the inner(4) weapons only, the Generator CB trips off after ~3 seconds. The Battery can sustain the firing mechanism till the ammunition is depleted. Case 4.1 Generator CB in Battery CB out Engine RPM ~1800, firing the inner(4) weapons only till ammunition is depleted, the Generator CB does not trip. -> 4 Weapons firing without charging the battery does not overload the generator Case 4.2 Generator CB in Battery CB out Engine RPM ~2200, firing the inner(4) weapons only till ammunition is depleted, the Generator CB does not trip. -> 4 Weapons firing without charging the battery does not overload the generator. Change in RPM does not change this behaviour Case 5.1 Generator CB in Battery CB in Engine RPM ~1800, firing all weapons, 2-3sec total -> Gen trip, 3-4sec total -> Battery trip Case 5.2 Generator CB in Battery CB in Engine RPM ~2200, firing all weapons, 2-3sec total -> Gen trip, 3-4sec total -> Battery trip -> Too high load for Generator and Battery. RPM irrelevant. Case 6.1 Generator CB in Battery CB out Engine RPM ~1900, firing all weapons, 2-3sec total -> Gen trip Case 6.2 Generator CB in Battery CB out Engine RPM ~2400, firing all weapons, 2-3sec total -> Gen trip -> Too high load of the Generator regardless of whether it charges the Battery or not, and regardless of the RPM. Conclusion: 1. The Generator changes its behaviour around 2000rpm. The current for charging the Battery together with the weapon cocking and rpm above 2000 causes problems. That´s what many see as Gen CB trip inflight. 2. Firing all 4 inner Weapons at once overloads the Generator(CB) when the Battery is connected. Can happen inflight. 3. Firing all 6 Weapons at once(even if depleted, the mechanism draws the same current, tested this before), overloads the electrical system within 2-3 seconds. Does happen inflight. How is this system supposed to work with 8 total guns as A-8/R1? 12 Tracks as zip file attached. Fox Anton electrical trks.zip

[NO BUG] Mk-108 30mm cannon not working in multiplayer
iFoxRomeo replied to DarkRaiderss's topic in Bugs and Problems
No probs on Burning Skies yesterday. Fox -
Vulching is cheap shiet. There are ways to stop it. I´d prefer a trigger that unfortunately works in SP missions only: Add weight. Imagine the pilots face when he suddenly realizes that he has 1000kg more aircraft weight, when inside the airfield protection zone:joystick: But fortunately it is not always so bad with those vulchers. And now some funny stuff. You get nice sandwiches served in BS. Fox
-
Yeah, the ground crew needs a few tries to do anything. But you can at least reduce this problem: Set a keybinding for the inertial starter. Then you don´t have to call anyone for it. Fox

My current solution for the landinggear is: It has to be retracted below 250km/h. And dont pull the stick during this phase. If you take off with full throttle, you normally accelerate too fast. I set the prop-pitch gov to manual and pitch to 12o´clock. That gives me enough time to retract the gear before 250km/h is reached. Contrary to your procedure Sydy, I always arm my guns before engine start. So I hear the arming and can then switch on the outer guns for arming. After that I just switch off the Master-arming. Works every time and is according to the real manual of the FW-190. You just have to keep in mind that bursts with all weapons at once currently trigger the CBs to pop off after a few seconds. I don´t know if this is correct behaviour. ED still didn´t say a word about it. Its about time for a response. Many possibilities: 1: They were not as similar as one might think. e.g. look at the numbers of CBs the planes have. Inverter is activated manually after engine start in the Anton, not so in the Dora. 2: Maybe the DCS Dora is not so deeply simulated regarding its systems as the Anton. 3: They used stronger CBs in the Dora Btw. you can retract the Doras landinggear even at 500+km/h. Only If you pull some Gs during retraction it will halt the process. But once you ease off the Gs, the gear continues to retract. Fox

Fox

The Generator and Battery CB are out in airstart or ground hot. You need to push them in. Then reload the inner guns first. After that reload the outer guns. Check the gen cb after that. It pops out, when the generator feeds the electrical bus, and you load the weapons. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=246642 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4010960&postcount=30 Fox

FW-190 armored glass color and opacity. It's too green and too dark.

A slight greenish tone, yes. But the DCS Anton is too green and too dim compared with this video Fox -

Fuel tank selector positions as it should be: 1-both tanks open, both feed the engine | 2-forward tank locked, only rear tank feeding the engine | 3-rear tank locked, only forward tank feeding the engine | 4-both tanks locked, no fuel for the engine Currently the postion 1 and 2 are switched. In position 1 only the rear tank is emptied. In position 2 both tanks are emptied. And the fuel pumps forward and aft can't change which tank is being emptied. Track added, but it is useless, as it is incorrect as soon as I start to taxi, leading to a crash on the ground. Open Beta 2.5.5.34644 Fox

I just tested it the way you did. I can confirm this behavior. But now comes the interesting part. I did the following tests with the results: 1. On ground, engine still out, running on battery only, necessary CBs for engine start in, outer cannons off, weapon master on -> No CB pops out 2. On ground, engine running @~1400rpm, all CB in (except fug25 in the aft panel), outer cannons off, weapon master on -> No CB pops out 3. On ground, engine running @2000rpm, all CB in (except fug25 in the aft panel), outer cannons off, weapon master on -> Generator CB pops out The Generator´s CB is too weak to handle the load. As soon as the engine´s rpm is high enough for the generator to take over from the battery you will have the Generator´s CB pop out when you load the weapons, even without the outer cannons. On the other hand, the battery´s CB can handle the load of arming the weapons, but inner weapons first, then the outer ones. I added the tracks. Open Beta 2.5.5.34644 Fox
