Wait for Vulkan to arrive before you throw any cash at an update. It is a wait and see moment.
-
Check the changelog for Wednesday 26th September - there was a mini-campaign introduced with the update released that day.

Worst case scenario, if you can't get your key bindings to work, bin the relevant lua file in the Saved Games set up for the module and input device affected, and it will re-create one when you restart DCS World. Then you'll have a clean file to start re-mapping with. The problem is due to ED wanting to rationalize the key inputs across all modules. It's not a huge drama to re-set things. Long term, it apparently will make life easier.

Mig-29 updated cockpit looks weird
NeilWillis replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
Have you tried the shaders delete trick? -
Maybe it couldn't believe its pixels when it saw the MiG-29 update?

As there is no release date, aren't we jumping to a lot of conclusions? Though winter does begin on December 21st, so maybe you have a point. The thing with all purchases is they're optional. If you want to hang on to your hard earned cash a little longer, I am sure Heatblur will be happy to take payment whenever you're ready. As for the hype - we have already been waxing lyrical for months. The video maybe feeding the beast, but it was already wide awake! It is an iconic plane, and highly anticipated. I'm guessing the comments about pre-release and not full release came from a newbie. Clearly he hasn't been around for many module launches!

"Slowly slowly catchee monkey" Yep, we'd all love to see everything come along all at once, but that's not about to happen. Radar refinements will be very welcome.

But this isn't the Belsimtek website. Developers rarely respond to stuff here, as this is a discussion forum for users of DCS World. Bug reports go on up the chain, but that is all. This issue has come about as a result of a major change, and it is simply taking a while for the modules to be updated to make the most of the changes. It is being addressed, and as has been said, that takes time.

** DCS: F-14 Development Update - September!! **
NeilWillis replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
That's what I hope too. Being able to set up macros to control Jester by voice command would be a great approach. A simple key press for each command would enable us to adapt Voice Attack or any similar app. Very elegant solution. -
Perhaps, but until everything is finalized, display resolution in the cockpit may not have been determined. Who knows? The devil is always in the detail.
-
No, not dead, just not completed yet.
-
I'd say Cobra's comment regarding optimization covers all these questions - too early to know perhaps?

Nvidia 416.16 10 4 18 update
NeilWillis replied to FOXFIRE TWOONE's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You ought to have tried repairing the mission and DCS World first. You'll just encounter the problem when you find you have no choice but to upgrade down the line. For the vast majority of users, this update has caused no problems at all - so the issue is with individual installations, not with the software update. Yes, you may find your set-up has incorrect, or non-optimal settings, so try stuff out BEFORE blaming the updates. A better solution all round is to wait for a few days after an update is released, and see what the lay of the land is before you commit. Let others find the solutions, and save yourselves some heartache. -
Having taken delivery of every airframe on day 1, I know the limitations. It is always the situation that people pre-release purchase and then expect miracles that have the issues. We just have to be pragmatic about this stuff. And accept that all modules take a while to become whole. People who want that will just have to stop getting involved with pre-release aspects. And please people, accept that cosmetic additions MUST take a low priority. The Viggen has been updated very recently, and the F-14 project has been running for 4 years so far. Why do you imagine for a second the Viggen will suddenly cease to be supported when the F-14 arrives? 2 complete modules mean 2 modules to sell to potential new customers. It ain't rocket science!

3D Models, Priorities and Progress
NeilWillis replied to terminator363's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Finite resources, infinite possibilities. -
Already done. It's called supporting developers so they can increase their workforce, and fix the minor issues that affect all projects. It's also called playing the long game.

Mirage disintegrated while pursuing maximum level speed at 45,000' altitude
NeilWillis replied to Pzkfw's topic in RAZBAM
I suppose you could simulate the burning smell by having a peripheral that sets fire to your gaming seat when certain parameters are met? It'd be far more realistic, so why not? :music_whistling: -
Yeah, delay the F-14 indefinitely so we can have a bit of bling in the Viggen! Not!!!

Windows 10 1809 Updategate

And if you fail to carry out the most basic precautions prior to updating. Always back up before you cock up! :music_whistling: -
Eurpean thatre : Normandy Approrpiate Bf109?
NeilWillis replied to Kev2go's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Why not a G6 with the option to change it to a G14 - I'm sure the tweaks would all be minor changes and might add value to the module - much like the clipped wing option for the Spitfire? Assuming of course, we're getting a second 109. It isn't surprising that everyone will want to fly the fastest bestest version of every airframe regardless of historical availability. At least this way, the mission designer will have the last say, and choice - well, is that ever a bad thing? -
And now it is you feeling bitch slapped? :music_whistling:
-
Maybe you should simply have kept those thoughts to yourself? Did you really expect people on the interweb to agree with you? :megalol:
-
Heatblur will definitely bail you out if you have jumped the gun. They're not likely to leave you in the lurch. Pre-purchase will give you the same early access as everyone else. Assuming, of course, they go down the Beta route as every other developer seems to do - and as they did with the MiG-21Bis in a previous incarnation. I've got my serial number, so roll on release date!
-
That's all you need to do. You can of course simply clone the existing SSD if the new drive has the software available - Samsung does. It will mean you can even transfer the operating system in its entirety. You can then re-format the original drive to complete the process.

20 series card owners - New Driver Warning
NeilWillis replied to Tinkickef's topic in Virtual Reality
1080 cards are not 20 series - he is referring to the 2080 and similar cards. You not having issues is probably due to the fact that it affects 20 series cards, as stated?
