controls very sensitive, curves? TMWH MFG?
NeilWillis replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
The Spitfire is very sensitive in pitch. Curves will reduce that, but add a more extreme middle range. The short stick of the standard Warthog set up is what's really the problem, and if you have the resources and are serious about DCS World, I'd recommend you improve handling via that route. The majority will of course settle for curve tuning, but it masks the issue rather than solving it. -
They look amazingly good. I have high hopes for the rest of the module - it looks like we'll be in for a huge treat!

Your install may have picked up a corruption, first, try a repair. If that doesn't solve the problem, rename your saved games folder, and a new one will be created. Then copy stuff back a little at a time until you track down the culprit. You may be able to just re-create the M2000C inputs anew, and save some time of course.

Set Different Runways for Takeoff / Landings
NeilWillis replied to bcradio's topic in Mission Editor
Nellis is an unusual case. Real world procedures dictate the take off and landing directions so you don't overfly Las Vegas. It has nothing to do with wind direction in this particular case. -
Door gunners = armed. Remove the external hard points, and you will lose the gun sights. It is a check box on the armaments/liveries section .

Indeed, respecting all civil regulations is part of every pilot's responsibilities. In wartime they don't just disappear, but naturally, when circumstances dictate, the exigencies of war would trump restrictions applicable in peacetime. That doesn't mean nav aids won't still have them in their databases - though of course it could be argued that military operations with the use of civilian navigation aids possibly wouldn't be permitted anyway. I guess the one way to satisfy all would be to provide some options within the NS 430 suite - possibly through the specials tab?

Definitely a good idea.

Eurofighter crashed in italy today :(
NeilWillis replied to =DECOY='s topic in Military and Aviation
It isn't a good idea to debate the cause of an air accident. Show some respect for the family of the deceased, and allow the authorities to do their work. It is always sad when an incident like this happens. Condolences to all those affected by this tragedy, regardless of the cause. -
Cocky pilot battle stories (mock engagements)
NeilWillis replied to Pilotasso's topic in Military and Aviation
He did brush aside the fact that the Phoenix missiles would have taken them all out long before they got to the close engagement aspect of the mission. -
Steam user’s vs longtime supporters… not fair!
NeilWillis replied to Xanix's topic in Payment and Activation
Having to enter a serial number in star force takes far far less time than typing a post here, so I really can't see where you're going with this. When you buy a module, activate it. When you need to update hardware, deactivate it, install hardware, activate it again. To take out all of 15 minutes to do that is hardly what I'd call a hardship when it helps to guarantee security for the vendors. If they get their cash we get more modules. Just because Steam uses a different system doesn't mean you're missing out on anything, it is just different. You just need to suck it up, and get on with it. Nothing will change. -
Miz files are simply compressed folders. Re-name the file extension to .zip, de-compress it and you can add the lua, and then recompress it and rename it back to a miz file.

As we have temporarily had access to an L-39 install of it, I'd say it was a pretty sure bet it'll be available again at some point. As for some kind of official announcement of which modules will get it - I don't think you will hear anything from Belsimtek until they are ready to release it in other airframes. It may also of course be limited to their own airframes, so that would include Sabre and MiG-15Bis, but possibly not the MiG-21Bis, Viggen, C101s or Hawk? Really though it is all just speculation until someone from the inside makes a more definitive statement.

Steam user’s vs longtime supporters… not fair!
NeilWillis replied to Xanix's topic in Payment and Activation
It was well publicised that the two systems are now mutually exclusive. As a matter of interest, why did you decide to go with Steam when you already had direct purchased modules? -
Please consider changing the activation system
NeilWillis replied to MA_Goblin's topic in Payment and Activation
Shouldn't you be complaining to the people who sold you a flaky hard drive or SSD, and not blame the software suppliers for your faulty hardware issues? I have been using DCS World for years, and never come close to running out of activations, and I've installed 2 new graphics cards, 2 mother boards, 2 lots of memory, 3 or 4 SSDs, 2 CPUs, oh and 2 operating systems in that time, and not all at the same time. Get the picture? It is how you use it, not the activation system that's got the problems. -
Evena pop up window in the MiGs would be great. It doesn't need to be a fixture in the instrument panel.

Very pleased to see the auto log in option on 2.X - comes as a relief to many server admins I expect!

Has anyone else seen this?
NeilWillis replied to tom1502's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This would add hugely to the VR thing. As long as we can hold a joystick and Throttle, and then reach out for the various knobs and switches it'd be awesome. -
Purchased the Module but not appearing in Module Manager

Excellent, thanks for the assistance. -

I have the same issue. Have you checked you are using the Beta release? I presume it isn't yet available in the release version? -
The gauges and HUD are easily readable as they are currently in VR. Maybe you need to check your settings? Take a look at pixel density under the VR tab. Increase that to around 1.5 to 1.8 for clearer text.

Best Wireless Headset 2017 ???
NeilWillis replied to strikers_blade's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have some Corsair wireless headphones. The Vengeance range are excellent, pretty robust, and although you can get better acoustics in more expensive ones, they are absolutely fine for my needs. They're reliable, stable, and have been working for years too. -
It all comes down to whether or not you need to learn US systems, or just to get some stick time. The L-39 is equipped with Russian style instrumentation and systems, so the leap to the F/A-18 will be a huge one. The A-10C is supported very well with in-depth training missions, and of course shares some common procedures and instrumentation will be compatible with the F/A-18. It has plenty of complexity and therefore will give you great grounding for what is to come. Best advice would therefore be to get the A-10C and then practice with the training missions. There is also a suite of 3rd party DLC campaigns for the A-10C which will take you much deeper into the procedures side of things all the way up to Advanced Tactical Training.

Also, make certain all your drivers are up to date. Crashes can occur where your PC is close to the minimum spec too. If it is running out of resources a crash is inevitable, so double check that your machine is powerful enough for the work you're expecting it to carry out. For example, is your power supply up to spec? If not you will get situations where the PC just powers down with no explanation. Also, get your log files posted with enquiries of this nature so if there is a paper trail to follow, and the solution can be pinpointed, it'll reduce the trial and error approach to a minimum.

You will get no pre-announcements regarding release dates because there is always the possibility of a delay and the developers are not happy getting flak off people with no patience. The only announcement you can expect is immediately before it is put on pre-sale. It is no longer policy to make forecasts because there is always the possibility of the dates slipping.
