  1. Fantastic. You beat me to it :) :) :)
  2. I think a really useful set of tutorials explaining how triggers work, with examples would make a great set of videos. I think mission design is the key to great immersion in DCS World. Any volunteers?
  3. How much have you played with your settings to try and establish the best possible combination? It takes time to pin things down, and frame rates are a very elusive but essential component of DCS World. I'd advise you search through all the previous posts regarding this issue. I get a good solid 45 FPS from a similar rig, but with a 980 Ti. There are occasional stutters in multiplayer sessions, but that is not necessarily down to my rig. If I can do it, so can you.
  4. Who said anything about elitism? The point from the original poster was that there are advantages - and of course disadvantages to either method of display. As for fragmenting the multiplayer community - wouldn't you say the one factor most likely to do that would be the exploitation of weaknesses of any given system rather than the concentration of like-equipped groups? The whole point of multiplayer environments is co-operation and competition. Who among us doesn't want to promote good game play, a level playing field, and therefore encourage more people to participate and ENJOY what they're doing. Streaming access to those who share your ideals, have suitable equipment, and of course commitment seems to me the right approach.
  5. Try the quick start manual. It is exactly what the quick start manual is for.
  6. It is hardly a relevant poll if it only allows people to say yes to one airframe, and excludes everything else! Either make it an honest poll, or you are frankly just wasting everyone's time.
  7. I am sure the opposite was the case. Or did Germany win the Battle of Britain? I forget what happened there, but I have a suspicion that the outcome favoured the guys in Spitfires and Hurricanes even though they were outnumbered and according to some, outclassed. :music_whistling: :music_whistling: :music_whistling:
  8. Add a good exercise regime to your lifestyle too - if you're up to that. It is always hard to get motivated, but I find walking a few miles a day makes a big difference to my wellbeing in all kinds of ways.
  9. Yes, I understand, but the pedals are in every other respect perfect. Often, the simplest and least expensive solutions are the best. It is such a shame to miss out on a great set of pedals.
  10. +1. All releases are great releases I feel. I day one everything - but that's just me.
  11. An Airbus tanker would be a great addition too. In fact, any NATO tanker from the Victor, through VC10 to the Airbus. The Herc is a brilliant move though. Much appreciated!
  12. Cheese. 109s are real suckers for cheese - especially Emmental. Seriously though, add a few B17s for bait, and fly the Mustang as an escort ship. When the 109s attack the bombers...
  13. The simplest way to getting complete stability with your MFG pedals is to screw them directly to the floor. Under your desk they're out of the way. Very simple solution, and also very cheap!
  14. Have you found the friction wheel? I have no issue with the throttles on the Warthog setup. A very useful addition to the joystick are extension tubes, which give a much precise feel to your inputs, and I'd recommend the MFG Crosswind pedals. Well built, precise, and supported by a great after sales service - not that I've ever had the slightest hint that I'd need any support. The other highly recommended tip for any VR user is to take a look at voice activated commands. I rate the Voice Attack system as easy to use, and totally reliable. Also, if you position the HOTAS just right, you can use your in-cockpit view to reach for the switches seamlessly too.
  15. Nice idea. Low priority.
  16. Nothing compares to the satisfaction of flying a DCS module effectively. It takes some time and effort to get there, but doing wheeler landings in the Spitfire, with everything within limits at the end of a long sortie is really the icing on the cake. Now, bring on the F/A-18C and a fully featured aircraft carrier...
  17. I agree, ED should concentrate purely on the aircraft I myself want. Therefore only RAF aircraft are ever going to be needed in the future - I am happy of course to give precise time lines and specify which mark of each will be required! :music_whistling: :music_whistling: :music_whistling: Or maybe the developers should be allowed to develop what they feel the market will bear, doing suitable market research, feasibility studies of what modules can be made given their budget and experience, and according to the licenses that ED can grant to them. Just a thought... I was also highly amused that the first reply in this thread said "no more trainers"! Somehow I think the developers have all got that particular message by now.
  18. You buy the module when it is first released. If you don't want the early access, do not buy it until it is out of Beta.
  19. You wish! What actually means is they can't say.
  20. Definitely don't try to repair anything if you are not certain about what you're doing. I have replaced the main board in my Warthog, and that's a pretty straightforward process, as it doesn't involve soldering or complex dismantling and reassembly. Inside the Warthog though there are a lot of very fine, fragile wires, lots of plastic parts that may go brittle with age, and in the case of the joystick assembly, some small springs that are just dying to escape and find their way into your shag pile carpets. DIY is great, and can save you a lot of money, but it does have risks attached if you are not absolutely sure of what you're up to. Bear in mind too that the main board alone cost me 48 Euros. It did however prolong the life of my HOTAS by a couple of years so far.
  21. I am getting a virus alert when I try to download the hotfix.
  22. It is surely not difficult to map areas of virtual space to match the physical environment. The alternative would be to position your peripherals to match a zone in virtual space. The desk issue is a very simple thing to fix - just move your chair back so you cannot reach your desk at full arm stretch. Joystick and throttle could also simply be placed below the scanned area, and used as a separate input outside the sphere of VR hand manipulation. I don't think there'd be any real game breakers if some thought is put into how to achieve what is required.
  23. Nice! Any more items expected to join that list in the distant future?
  24. And yet over 50% of all humans that have existed on Earth are alive today!
