Toan: It goes in the 'aircraft' folder. Load it as a Static Object, Helicopters, scroll down - and there it will be. Its only eye candy at the end of the day. Dont forget to link it to the ship you are putting it on. (Link Unit) on that diagram. Just to make sure I have checked it works in Stable and OpenBeta. -

Liveries for 6 new ships updated - Get them here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3319023/ These liveries work in both Stable and OpenBeta, I have run both to verify. You MUST use the latest version of the ship for these to work, they wont work in earlier version. -

Nice to see somebody else using my island texture files in his Mod, thats a much better looking USN deck than the original (just my view - not looking for an argument or debate about it !) Nice work FlyNeX. -

I have Gimp, its doesnt do enough of the things my old software does but I am going to look at it again, the updated versions. Have decided to do something, my old software isnt ever going to handle big file sizes well enough so time to bite the bullet. -

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3319227/ One thing I notice now that I have it in the game is the quality of some of the lines etc when you are down on the deck itself. My file size for the deck is 4096 x 4096 and the original file size is 8192 x 8192. I tried and tried to get my old software to work in 8192 but it keeps crashing and I loose too much work trying to get it to manage files of that size. So, sadly, this is the best I can do with what I have. Dont suggest alternatives, I'm 77, on a pension and what I have I'm spending on wild women and Rum, this is just a hobby. I have tried a newer version of Corel's software but it isnt actually as good as the older one I have. Such is life. I am trying different things, different women and different rum (Only joking) - I might find a solution to this yet ! -
There was no template for this Mod. When I bought it, it had one simple RAF skin, that was all. I ripped that apart to create the skins we issued with the Mod, once Admiral had converted it to DCS use for me. All the skins you see are based on that single original skin, converted to what you see by me, and it took a while to do them all.

Uploaded to the DCS Site this morning - HMS Formidable with helo spots on the deck and ships number - R59 - Plus a no number no helo spots version for you to play with if you want. Why R59 - The number is embedded on the island structure in spotlights and they cant be painted out, so decided to stick with it. It's a nice number, it matches my IQ !! Why no helo spots. The actual helo spots this mod uses are quite weird, 2 side by side up front and 2 side by side down aft, so the spots I painted will not actually work with the lua as it is now. I will change my lua to fit my spots (possibly) but to save you the trouble here is one deck without them. I have not tested the actual mod fully yet so if you find issues with that take it up with ED please, I just paint things. -

HMS Formidable - Fictional CVA - Helo spots do not match the working model, thats an lua issue not a texture issue. plus a few other compromises to fit the paintjob to the model. Not finished yet ... still got things to do. Will do 2 versions, 1 with helo spots and 1 without. -

I might be able to explain in part what's happening, here goes !! If for some reason 2 different mods have the same named texture file in them, whichever mod appears first in the drop down receives precedence when the game goes looking for that texture. For example if you have a US Flag on two different ships and you change one of them to another country by painting it differently, but keeping the same original name of course ... if that ship then appears first in the drop down and you launch your US Flagged ship, it will show the other country's flag ... because the game looks for it in the ship that appears above you ship in the ME drop down. I have come across this many times in the past, it does not always happen though, but why that is ... is beyond me. There ... if you understand that can you explain it back to me again because I'm confused -

Bungo is doing an Ark Royal, it looks excellent and will be up to his HMAS Melbourne standard I'm sure. No point in trying to replicate that. I am looking at this skinset with a view to doing a UK style deck, trying to get rid of the black paintwork on the island is proving to be a rather lengthy nightmare and as I said above, that deck is going to be very difficult to alter. Its only ever going to be a paintjob though, I might try for a fictional CVA01 - but dont expect it anytime soon. I have other projects that are higher up the list of things to do. -

I dont think that is a new deck texture, he has just made the existing deck textures brighter, that a whole different ball game to creating a different deck. Interesting though, thanks for the heads up, I missed that on the download site. -

Once Admiral has done his thing with the basic Montreal model and its uploaded I will recreate my Liveries Mod to go with that, it will include another 3 ships, all with slight variations and minor texture improvements, mainly around the flight deck. Over the years they all got slightly different things done to them. I love this little ship too, and I have always loved Canada, when I visited on Exercises it was like Scotland was when I was a kid, I fell in love with and never fell out of love with it. Every visit was a treat. Apart from a very large bear in a forest clearing in Novs Scotia that scared the crap out of me ... when I say very large I mean in twice my height when the bugger stood up after I kicked it thinking it was a discarded carpet ... it was ginormous !!!! Bloody glad I had a mini flare in my hand at the time !! I know I know - who would discard an old carpet in a forest clearing 80 miles from the nearest town ... I didnt think that through at the time did I !! -

Hmmmm ... Just had a closer look at this ships texture files, I wont be attempting anything with this model, its way too complicated. I would think the only people who could change that deck are the guys who made the original model and have all the 3dmax files, or somebody with way more skill than I have. -

Thanks Greg - That's the way to hide a Carrier - inside a bloody airplane folder !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Complicated looking set of skins, but never say never Eh ! CVA01 perhaps, looks about the right shape (ish!). -

Looking at that link there appears to be several problems with this Mod conflicting with the in game F-117A, and the Discord he mentions has nothing in it that would be of any help. The data I sent you above works in all of my Saved Games Mods and should work with this, I cannot see any reason why it doesn't, sorry. Here is the lua back again with the data as I would add it. F-117.lua -

I'm not familiar with any new Mods of the F-117. The game runs the F-117A and most of the DCS files for that were locked away ages ago, you cant do anything to them any more. Thats not entirely true but changing anything with in game aircraft is now very difficult to do. What exactly is this, a new Mod of the F-117 or something you are trying to do with the DCS F-117A in the Stable version of the game. -
