  4. Does anyone know where the edm for that awful looking MER 6 in the game is hiding, I want to replace it but cant find it in the shapes folder. I may be looking for the wrong name, any help would be appreciated. There is an updated BRU 41A in the game already, which looks very similar, but its not using that for a 6 bomb load, it still using the ancient and awful edm from the dark ages.

I think she is sitting at the right depth in the water now, its not the model that gives the impression of sitting high, its the water transparency that creates that illusion and there is nothing you can do about that, except add extra wind and thereby create larger waves to hide the red below the boot topping. Even then you will need a bloody hurricane level of wind to hide the red even a little bit. There is another solution of course, paint the red hull black - whilst not accurate the problem is solved.

  9. Handy Wind max speed is 14 kts - to change that you will need to make a JSGME Mod to alter the lua. Here is a JSGME Mod to bring her speed up to 27 Kts, which seems to be the game normal.   10. She also had 2 Portacabins bolted to the deck on the funnel deck, 1 on each side ... used as accommodation for the RN Comms Ratings on her. I cross decked onto Atlantic Causeway (her sister ship) for one night on the way back from South Georgia to rejoin my unit on 2 Sisters, could not get off her fast enough, one night was one night too many. We were going to be picked up by the Wessex ASW off HMS Glamorgan and taken inland but that all went for a bucket of bolts when she was hit by another Exocet fired from a trailer setup they had ashore ... luckily another helo turned up and took us to somewhere completely different ... not that we minded really, we were quite close to Glamorgan at the time so anywhere away from that huge target was okay with us. RIP the 14 matelots killed on Glamorgan. Causeway was fitted out differently to Conveyor, she had a small hangar built up forward but you could create another livery for her if you wanted 2 of them. PS: I didnt know there were 2 of them either, not until we jumped out onto her deck and looked up ... Oh F*ck was the most popular comment at the time !!

Admiral - Hawkeye has the original Iowa stuff, I think he did try to make a modern version of it with Tomahawks etc but I dont know if he ever finished it, the conversion to add the missiles required a lot of extra work on the superstructure and removal of stuff from the Quarterdeck etc, it was a big job. That said ... with your skills everything is possible, it would be a terrific addition. I did make a start on updating the skins for it, removing all the WW2 markings etc and did a quick post modern version for him, if you go ahead let me know and I will find that stuff again and finish it.
  12. Every Warship carries a wide variety of small arms Admiral, particularly machine guns of varies types, put whatever you like on her. The concept of the armed matelot charging down the gangway to rescue the fair maiden from the wicked warlord still persists in modern navies - mind - I think they might be hard pressed to find a real 'maiden' these days. The image of a matelot armed with a gun still scares the crap out of me - we used to say that the only place to be in a fire fight involving matelots was behind them. Only joking - all matelots are salts of the earth, just a tad dangerous with real ammunition !!!
  13. Here it is, not quite perfect, its hard to match the existing aircraft to this version so this is my closest compromise. (Something I can actually read please, I can make guesses for myself but decided not to do that) !! The Number on the side is also a bit of a guess, again no clear image of the actual aircraft to work from, the last number could any one of several.
  14. This is superb, the workmanship, time and vision to make this Mod deserves enormous credit. Well done prccowboy, this is the best Mod I have seen in the game for a very long time.
  15. Greg - You can do this two ways. 1. If you have created a DCS'Liveries file in your Saved Games folder you can put them in there. if not 2. This mod is in the CoreMods folder in the main game folder - in there look for tech/Tech Weapons Pack/Liveries and in there you should find a folder called HandyWind - stick them in there.

  17. Toan: It goes in the 'aircraft' folder. Load it as a Static Object, Helicopters, scroll down - and there it will be. Its only eye candy at the end of the day. Dont forget to link it to the ship you are putting it on. (Link Unit) on that diagram. Just to make sure I have checked it works in Stable and OpenBeta.

  19. Nice to see somebody else using my island texture files in his Mod, thats a much better looking USN deck than the original (just my view - not looking for an argument or debate about it !) Nice work FlyNeX.
  20. I have Gimp, its doesnt do enough of the things my old software does but I am going to look at it again, the updated versions. Have decided to do something, my old software isnt ever going to handle big file sizes well enough so time to bite the bullet.
  21. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3319227/ One thing I notice now that I have it in the game is the quality of some of the lines etc when you are down on the deck itself. My file size for the deck is 4096 x 4096 and the original file size is 8192 x 8192. I tried and tried to get my old software to work in 8192 but it keeps crashing and I loose too much work trying to get it to manage files of that size. So, sadly, this is the best I can do with what I have. Dont suggest alternatives, I'm 77, on a pension and what I have I'm spending on wild women and Rum, this is just a hobby. I have tried a newer version of Corel's software but it isnt actually as good as the older one I have. Such is life. I am trying different things, different women and different rum (Only joking) - I might find a solution to this yet !
  22. There was no template for this Mod. When I bought it, it had one simple RAF skin, that was all. I ripped that apart to create the skins we issued with the Mod, once Admiral had converted it to DCS use for me. All the skins you see are based on that single original skin, converted to what you see by me, and it took a while to do them all.
  23. Uploaded to the DCS Site this morning - HMS Formidable with helo spots on the deck and ships number - R59 - Plus a no number no helo spots version for you to play with if you want. Why R59 - The number is embedded on the island structure in spotlights and they cant be painted out, so decided to stick with it. It's a nice number, it matches my IQ !! Why no helo spots. The actual helo spots this mod uses are quite weird, 2 side by side up front and 2 side by side down aft, so the spots I painted will not actually work with the lua as it is now. I will change my lua to fit my spots (possibly) but to save you the trouble here is one deck without them. I have not tested the actual mod fully yet so if you find issues with that take it up with ED please, I just paint things.
  24. HMS Formidable - Fictional CVA - Helo spots do not match the working model, thats an lua issue not a texture issue. plus a few other compromises to fit the paintjob to the model. Not finished yet ... still got things to do. Will do 2 versions, 1 with helo spots and 1 without.
