  1. Okay, I see what you mean now. Sadly its quite hard to get that quality of detail on that model, the texture file size dictates how good or bad the decal image will be. In the C5 case its a 4096 x 4096 file covering the whole aircraft so detail is lost when you squeeze that big an airframe onto that small a texture file. In the newer game models you have the same file sizes (or bigger) but each one covers just one bit of the aircraft, many texture file making up the whole aircraft, and a high standard of detail follows. In this case once I had shrunk the badge or letters to fit the 4096 size the detail suffered. My old software struggles with 4096 as it is, anything bigger and it wont run. I will have another look at it but I don't think I can make that any better, sorry.
  2. I'm not sure what you mean by 'cleaned up' - the insignia are quite dull compared to the other writing/numbers etc on the airframes/wings, that's how they are in real life on most images I found. Send me an image of what it is you are after and I'll try to meet your request.
  3. I believe it was a legally adapted FSX Mod, converted by Markindel, it came as an attached refuelling combo with a Durance Class Support ship, with full permissions from the original FSX makers. I have no idea who that was. He then separated the 2 ships and released both as unique units. The Mod was removed by ED some time ago, and Markindel no longer makes Mods for the community as far as I am aware. Various other people have done things with the 2 ships for their own use, but as far as I am aware ED do not want it used in the game and that is why it does not appear on any download facilities associated with ED. I do not know who now owns the 3dmax files associated with this Mod. I do not make mods for the site any more, and I do not pass on any that I use without the owners permission.

  6. If memory serves me right the driver of the Bell 47 sits in the port side seat (left hand seat facing forward), he certainly did in our Sioux's. The right hand seat had the controls removed and was used by the Observer. I might be wrong for the US versions, its a VERY old memory !!!!!!!

  8. Night Illumination of buildings is on permanently throughout the day ... see image. Can this be corrected to reflect actual daylight/nightime.

Seems to happen after a new object is placed and I go to zoom out or move the map in any direction, game freezes and crashes back to desktop - DCS Error reporting activated - desktop back to normal. I have a number of object mods installed in my Saved Games folder but cannot identify a reason for these random crashes, any help would be appreciated. DCS Log attached DCS Log.ZIP
  11. I resolved my original issue myself, I had a corrupted update, ran repair and the issue was fixed.
  12. Hi guys - Is anyone updating the VSN C17 and C5 to 2.5.5. compatibility, its a shame to see those 2 modern transports going to waste.
  13. Excellent voc, many thanks. Can I just say that if we didnt have this Mod in the game I would probably have left it a long time ago, its makes everything so much more realistic, so a HUGE thank you from me mate.
  14. Voc, it was from your very first version of the Mod, its just the Larger old control tower but without the base, chairs, ground base etc, its really useful in tight spaces.
  15. voc - sorry to be a nuisance but there is still 1 missing - VP-KDP SINGLE.edm. Its the old control tower standing free, not on a base.
  16. The only items not working are: VP-Flags - the three flags edm VP-KDP SINGLE - The old Control Tower without a base Everything else is working, thanks for doing this.
  17. Cauacasus Map - A number of vehicles on and around the aircraft handling areas cannot be removed using this function, Russian APA, Fire Engine, Kamaz Tent, Gaz66 to name a few. These vehicles are not created by the Shapes Folder edm's as they were in the earlier versions of the game, you can remove the edm completely from the shapes folder and it still appears as a 'static building' on the actual map, so they they now appear to be a part of the map in the same way that many of the buildings now appear. Those buildings can still be removed using the remove objects filter but the vehicles remain stubbornly there.
  18. 2 Different people Jef, Markindel no longer makes Mods and has withdrawn from the Forums. (The reasons are too complex to explain here), suffice to say he and I co-operated on updating the Mistral Mod at one time but that original Mod was made by a guy called Lilkkiki, who has since died. Neither Mario (Markindel) or I had the original files, we just added stuff to the decks and repainted them. The Mistral Mod was then deleted by ED, again for reasons too complex to explain here, so I am no longer doing anything with it. I make no apologies for that, I am simply trying to avoid further conflict with ED over it. I hold none of the 3smax files for any of these other ships, and I doubt if Markindel will ever come back to update them, but we can hope.

  20. Just EDM's, sorry. I have spoken to cpdkobra about the Carrier Eye Candy CVN's and that will be redone at some stage, when he has time, he has a lot of work to make up now and this is not a priority. For the meantime my Furious Reagon mod based on Tomcatz old models is still working.
  21. I have been slowly updating that Mod for a long time, better textures, more in keeping with the actual buildings found in the real world. Sadly all lost now unless somebody can come up with some way to update the older ED edm files for each building. I dont have the software to do that, or the knowledge.
  22. I wonder if there are any wizards out there who could create a tool to allow Modders to update older edm's to the latest requirement. I have no idea how hard, or easy, that might be, but it would overcome this current hitch at a stroke. I'm retired and I cant afford 3dmax so that is never going to be an option for me. With a huge number of older edm's in my mods I wont be asking anyone else to do it for me.
