One of our guys was an F14 plane captain before he flew S3's in the Navy. I will forward this to him.

This and the more that BoS/BoM leans toward being a game vs combat sim, the more we are looking forward to and needed DCS to fill the gap that was supposed to be the new IL2. I hope DCS continues with a WW2 theater/aircraft. There are many WW2 flight simmers feeling left out by what is going on in the IL2 series.

The auto radiators don't cool well enough, for whatever reason. Before you start taxi, hold Ctrl + A and Ctrl + S for about 25 seconds or you can go to outside view and watch it open under the aircraft. This take the radiators out of automatic and opens them, in manual. As long as you do this and make sure the levers are forward as someone mentioned, you should be good. You can also go to full rich with the mixture when you're at low alt to help cool the engine. Also, look at the placard to the left. It shows engine settings, use them. I've rarely seen a reason to use WEP. Normally I'll fight with 50" and 2800 rpms. In fact, if you use that for everything after takeoff, you should be fine. I mean, don't go over 0". Occasionally I'll go to 55 in a fight, but not often.

Umm, I'm not sure where people are getting that you shouldn't be able to trim to hands off, but you should be able to...

No one should be able to do this without going over EGT limits and even then I don't think it will go that fast in level flight.

Any VKB T-rudder pedals owners please post coordination vids here

Go here for the Huey. Check YouTube for reviews from real heli pilots using the DCS Huey and these controls. http://www.komodosimulations.co.uk/ -
Why? We have one, just a slightly different kind.

Well, nothing has worked

Will do

I was using a few through JGSME but not in the mission and I also removed them then repaired. None of that worked. I really have no idea what's going on. MODs: Helipads_Cargo_Racegates_Hospital_M117 1.5.3 Ranger79s Mod Pack 2.4 Skullz's Genuine Huey Sound Mod 2.5 UH-1H Beta 1.2.5 Cargo I appreciate you testing it but I don't know why its causing me to crash.

Here ya go Blacksheep Korea.miz

TBH I didn't even think of hiding the log and I should've, but thanks for taking care of it for me. I can attach the mission but here's the weird thing...after trouble shooting everything, I started a new mission. I only added one F86, nothing else and it crashed on me. ETA I'll get the mission back here for you tonight.

Just hit the Home key after the throttle is set. No real reason to map it to anything since its only used once really, but its up to you. "Home" is default.

Just as the title says...I can load the mission, but when I select an aircraft and click fly, DCS will crash. It started when I began working on a new Korean era mission. I only had about 8 triggers in and wanted to test the progress. Since then I've removed all the triggers and other aircraft, it still crashed. I then removed all mods and repaired DCS, It crashed. I then made a new mission with one aircraft, the F86 and it still crashed. It doesn't happen with all missions, just with two so far. Here's the log and any help is appreciated. The log is too long to put here so I'm going to probably have to separate it into two posts. Also, I've not added or done anything new. It all started when I began work on the new mission. This is using DCS World 1.5

Suggestions from a new user to bring in other new users

I can't say that I've ever really seen what you're talking about. Yes, I've had to pick through things here and there, but in the end I found exactly what I needed. You said you've been working in the computer industry, no offense here,(i'm not young anymore either) but I've found that the older someone is when they get into aviation, especially complex aircraft, the harder it is for them. I was lucky in that I grew up in aviation and I fly for a living so learning an extra system (weapons) was pretty easy. I can see where you're coming from but I don't think it's nearly as bad as you say. Everything is out there. Just pick one video, learn it and move to the next. Do it in pieces. Like someone mentioned already, you can't sit and learn any of this in 5 minutes, especially if you're new to aviation. -
GTX1080 who is buying it?
BSS_Sniper replied to hannibal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Nvidia just isn't competitive in there prices given what they offer. You can get the same from and for half the price. Heck, even if and is slight slower you'll never see $300 worth of improvement on an nvidia card. It's just not worth it. -
This is from a long time ago, but...what?...It all comes down to personal preference but the curves add more realism IMO. I say that because in a real plane you have to actually move the stick or yoke when you're flying. Without a curve, a bit of slight pressure will have you in a snap roll. lol

So have I during my 22 years in and multiple deployments but i'm not sure why you're comparing anything a .50 is doing to a POS truck on the ground to what happens in the air. I see someone beat me to it just above. Read that.

YouTube is your friend. There are plenty of videos on this subject and you'll probably get more out of them than asking in here. Not saying that people don't know how to do it here...just the videos make it easier.

This makes it very difficult to use Mavericks
BSS_Sniper replied to jfri's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
This is why you should find your targets and mark point them, then start your run at 10nm. Use the autopilot and then go from tgt to tgt. It works quite well. -
I am praying that leatherneck or someone does a Skyraider for us.

I'm not sure if things have changed since 2013 as far as playing music goes, but... The only thing you have to do is use a vehicle to transmit the music or audio file you want. It seems to work fine in 1.5xx and I'm using files that are 15mb in size. There's really no reason for triggers unless you have some specific reason. All someone has to do is tune in the proper frequency and they'll hear whatever it is you're playing on that freq. Place a single vehicle and name it whatever you want. I just use "Radio Trans" as a name. You then have to add two advanced waypoint options: 1. Type: Perform Command Action: Set Frequency Frequency: 124 MHz (or whatever you choose) Modulation: AM (again, up to you) 2. Type: Perform Command Action: Transmit Message File: (select your OGG file here) Loop: Check the box What I've found is that it works with up to 2 people in MP, but if you have more than that no one can hear it. I'm trying to figure it out.
