  1. Try switching the PS3 / PC button? and then hit home button 2 AXIS MODES On PC, your joystic k features 2 axis modes: •4 Axes mode(Red Home LED)The rocking button is combined with the handle's rotation for the rudder function. •5 Axes mode(Green Home LED) The rocking button is independent and can be manually assigned with another function. To switch from one mode to the other, simply press the HOME button(12).
  2. Totally agree to voice opinions on the forum and do enjoy the interesting discussions here about X being right or wrong. It's just a hard place to be in building this world, aircraft, weapons, damage model, AI etc etc and have it all "Perfect for X". Many rivet counters here that will not stop until perfect. Some would have ED's engineers work on an aircraft full time making X better till the end of time if they could. discussing the DCS OH-58D So I believe some Professional expectations is expected here also, just like these guy's in the video talk about when flying their million dollar military sim's. It's never going to be 100% IRL and someone will always want it better because they payed monies for it to be absolutely all perfect, no matter the cost for ED.
  3. You should just add power and go around. You always stay on speed tho just in case this happens. Lot worse if you pich up. Inflight engagement. I was going to go around here...
  4. Yep, DCS runs well in VR considering the size and scope of a non VR built sim and possibly the largest and dynamic VR game or sim there is to run in VR.
  5. Fresh install windows yes. Copy and paste as many installs as you want of dcs to new pc. Turn them into any build you want. Clean and repair after. Not tied / installed into windows.
  6. I think many, including the guy's I fly with would like it to be a bit more tested before release. whether that's, more coded test tools and or testers etc. We all want to help find the HARD to find beta bugs etc. Not the in your face bugs.;)
  7. I know VR is more of a strain here and different VR drivers. But the OP can run at 60 or 70 fps at 5760 x 1080 (3 monitors) generally? with X game settings. That's 6,220,800 pixels With a Riift CV1 pixel density (PD) of 1.5 = 3240x1800 resolution = 5,832,000 Understanding Pixel Density - Making sense of it
  8. Have you tried a zone and attach it first, then add the transmission to it etc? UNIT INSIDE MOVING ZONE. This trigger allows you to attach a trigger area zone to a unit and the zone will move along with the assigned unit. Note, the trigger zone can be placed anywhere on the map, but will in fact be always attached to the center of the assigned unit in-game. When selected, you should first select the unit that the area trigger will be attached to by selecting it from the ZONE UNIT drop down list. Next, select the area trigger zone that will be attached to the unit from the ZONE drop down list. Lastly, you need to set the unit that will set the trigger to true when it enters the zone unit’s zone. Do this by selecting a unit from the UNIT drop down list.
  9. I would do a game repair first. Does it do this in all missions with the a10 ? If not post a link to that mission file, must be corrupted or broken. Is it an old mission file etc.
  10. That's not going to work, you are constantly correcting for movement and position and also allowing for more power for the weight as the fuel is added. One day you will, we wont be flying it tho.
  11. Mission text? What is the green text? You can delete the text from the mission triggers and re-save it in the editor. drucken sie die leertaste Press the spacebar
  12. Read instructions, take notes. Watch YouTube that line-up with manual. 100's and 100s of great videos done. Take notes again about x. Practise in sim over and over. Still having difficulty, join an online squad or use dcs discord, (they can live stream with discord to show things) and ask for help etc. Ed can only spend so many 100s of hours making training. The rest is up to the community for babysitting. Ask here in the forum about things and be very specific with what your trying to do. There's possibly a better way and how it would be done irl.
  13. I'm guessing you could just use the steam backup if you have a spare drive. You can jusr download it all if you want to? Also backup your save games folder. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8794-yphv-2033
  14. "Still" 10 years later. The best simulation ever created of the A-10C and or a CAS aircraft bar none. No one has come close. It's that good (Why it was made in the first place) even the military used it for the classroom crossover training from the A-10A (old) to A-10C systems.
  15. Seems reasonable enough. They like it when they come down to Australia sometimes. Your looking for swell height tho. Wind waves are a local manifestation of the energy that has been transferred to the sea from the wind. This energy travels downwind away from the source area, rather like ripples in a pond when a stone is dropped in, or from the bow wave from a ship. These waves that move away from their source are known as swell. The stronger the winds at the source area, the bigger will be the swell and the further will it travel. The longer that the wind blows in the source area, the longer will the swell persist, even long after the wind has ceased or changed direction. The very large amounts of energy transferred to the sea results in swell waves being fast moving and extending far deeper than the waves produced locally by the wind. Many of us are familiar with the long rolling swells that come in from the Atlantic. They are particularly evident around western coasts of the British Isles, France and Spain. http://weather.mailasail.com/Franks-Weather/How-Waves-And-Swell-Form
  16. Sounds correct. Make sure late activation is not ticked for the Mig and recheck the skill set? I have a few video's you can .
  17. I don't know enough about scripting straight in Lua. I'm thinking you might be way better off doing this with MOOSE tho. The guy's have set all this up in moose. You just call the Function you need. All of them https://flightcontrol-master.github.io/MOOSE_DOCS/Moose_Functional.html Scoring https://flightcontrol-master.github.io/MOOSE_DOCS/Documentation/Functional.Scoring.html MOOSE Docs https://flightcontrol-master.github.io/MOOSE_DOCS/ SCORING:SetMessagesToCoalition()Configure to send messages to only those players within the same coalition as the player. looks like with online play, you can send to all. Not a separate spawned unit?
  18. No need to move or copy DCS. You should be able to repair any version you have on your pc anywhere. Just tie them into Skates app etc. Then switch to them when using that build. You can even copy paste the save game folder (Rename) and tie that into a separate build. Go to (applications) setting first and make sure the build and save game folder you are using is setup there. Then just select the ones in red (Not installed) then hit install selected modules.
  19. There are not many games that support SLI (Including DCS) There are no VR infrastructure / API's to utilize SLI today. (Oculus rift software) For VR I recommend the 2070 super minimum You can go better (2080 super.etc) than later upgrade your . So it can really push that card, you are limited at DDR3 etc. It will hold these cards back a little at 10 to 20% etc. The only reason to wait is NVIDIA might be releasing their new GPU's.
  20. This bat still works, which is the same thing. bin\DCS_updater.exe repair I just use skates app these days. calling the same thing also.
  21. Try using Skate's Updater GUI Utility Easy to use once setup. I have also ran into that problem before from time to time.... Once you link your DCS build or builds to the app. Then go to aircraft modules (Pick the one's to install) Then hit install selected modules. Note: Also know need to uninstall / reinstall DCS. I'm on the same DCS from 2 PC ago + with all Updates. You can copy DCS to a drive and copy it back to new pc, copy it twice and change one version stable / beta or other old version etc. You just run a clean and repair etc, on the install and done.
  22. You have to look at this as a whole entity to match up with flight performance and the supplied data and charts. This was created using military supplied engine and wind tunnel data. Like these and this was beta tested to death by many SME's and beta testers. Including crew chiefs like Snoopy I believe and they all got this wrong (or not good enough) over how many years and hours of testing and coding back then? I have not seen enough new data that guy's like Yo-Yo "can use" to modify all the equations and still have it all "line up as close as it does today" and I'm not talking about what is just seen on gauges IRL. This is a PC simulated environment, not IRL. We can write up a new virtual 2J-TF34-116-9 or 1A-10C-2-71JG DCS-1A-10C-2-71JG and make it work for the sim. I would also like to know how accurate do you think the military sim is? Compared to the real aircraft? Snoopy has flown one, is this million dollar sim spot on? (NO) How much you think they spent getting it to that level with the money they have? How much should ED spend looking for perhaps 2% in the engine model or flight model getting it there? So it matches up with your (IRL) ITAR documents. (potentially illegal and contract breaking / doesn't look real good etc) The video is for (this) FM thread sorry, but also relates to how many SME's you think got it all wrong back then and now want ED to spend another year your so playing with engine and aircraft equations to hopefully make it that little bit better. Could Yo-Yo remodel the engine now and get it a little closer to the quirks of real life today, if enough NEW info available? Possibly, why would they. Listen in on just 's are on this 3rd party module. They also talk about how the million dollars sims are still not quite right. But it's perfectly cool to bust ED's balls for a 60 dollar product to get it 100% real world perfect and match every real world document you can find? So some Professional expectations is expected here, just like these guy's in the video talk about. discussing the DCS OH-58D EDIT: For those interested. Whats really involved in building an engine or flight model? Here is the level on the consumer side (EFM API) you can go to. CptSmiley is an aeronautical engineer that now works for RAZBAM on their flight models. Some statistics: - Lines of code: >5000 - Aerodynamic look-up tables: >24 - Breakpoints (data resolution): tables range from 5 breakpoints up to 1900 for most of them - Data source - NASA technical papers How accurate is the flight model (aerodynamics)? - As accurate as possible with all flight data available (mostly from wind tunnels) How accurate is the control system? - As accurate as the NASA manned sim, using the same math model and block diagrams - Modeling of the mechanical servo-dynamics are in there as well How accurate is the engine model? - Extrapolated equations from the NASA manned sim
  23. Shouldn't be a large farp. Just the mesh pad and then add your own ....... whatever. No big mound etc. https://qualityeventflooring.com/solutions/military-flooring/
  24. You think it falls short of power? Or what the gauges say in pit are off. Many have said and tested this against the chart numbers and it's good still. I'm not saying that a real A-10 is like this, it could very well outperform the supplied charts. Even so , not sure what ED would do about it or with it. How much should they keep spending to find the knife edge of pc simulation. Edit: Added video Professional expectations? discussing the DCS OH-58D Many SME's on this module . To make it as good and as close as it can be. Not even there own million dollar sims could match the real thing. OH-58D or the AH-64 Apache that they have flown.
  25. Discuss a way..... "I permitted to continue an engaging discussion" The "pun / joke " here is for YOU to get a job with ED and put up the 1000 free hours of your time to make it better. If you are an engineer? "YOU" should no ED will not touch this unless someone here has access to more info, not it doesn't feel right. Just play with the equations until our now "new SME" will sign it off for you. Who is paying for this? ED had many SME's to go over this aircraft, many would have agreed / disagree on many things. But now these guy's want 1000's of engineer hours spent because someone said... On a 60 dollar product. Good luck with that. This was built with supplied wind tunnel data by the way, to change the data means just playing with it until someone now feels like it's ok? Yep sure, we will put our to top engineers on it right away. This may set the F-16 and hornet back a year or so, everyone good with that. Find more info than ED has for the engineers to work with. They will not play with it for 100's / 1000's of hours to guess what it should be. "Available" A10C engine model documents https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2868802#post2868802 Edit They possibly are "allowed" to perform better IRL. We just don't no how or why? (The air force engineers would have documented this) and the new allowable tolerances on these engines etc. and the engines / air frame we have now does hit the chart numbers in the A-10C documentation etc. Show me how and where it's wrong. I know this got beta tested to death with all the documents. Don't just SAY it's very very wrong because discord said lol. Tell me where so others can test it, like it has been 1000's of times by beta testers way way back.
