  1. Not sure if you have used the editor? You can open these up in the editor, then save it to "my missions folder" Navigate to f18 / quick missions and open it up in editor. Click on PLAYER F18 Change loadout Change other things if you wish (time of day, weather, add ai air or ground) Save to my mission folder, other wise DCS will overwrite if you save it over the original. See this video on changing load outs. You can copy a weapon setup and then rename it. Right click on weapon slots on wings to change them.
  2. On my phone right now. But if this is at 1080p something not quite right here. Im max settings max pre load, view ultra etc. Can hold a locked 60 fps. This is also at 2560 1440. You should be close to this to or easy at 1080p. Re do graphic drivers perhaps.
  3. (E bracket and velocity vector need to be aligned) Yes, trim these together that means on speed AOA. You do this only downwind wings level when setting it, then don't pitch. Use the throttle. (horizon line in the hud) Level in the hud means level flight only, nothing to do with on speed. Go over Jabbers video of the complete Case 1 section by section. THAT"S what a case one is for. think of it like hitting one goal at a time. If you mess one realign for the next, so you get in the groove nice at the correct height and distance. Learn each segment slowly, until it all comes together. This is what it looks like before you go to the boat IRL. They go round and round practicing this lots, you can do this to on the boat if you like. Leave the hook up.
  4. Love the big G pull into the groove. Your real fast, learn to be trimmed up on speed when on the downwind. It's around 140 kts depending on weight. You then do not pitch the aircraft around with the stick. Be at 1.2 miles off the carrier when you turn in and hold 30 degrees, adjust to suit. Practice, Practice, Practice:thumbup: On speed practice (Do this for a bit to see how it all works) Bankler's CASE 1
  5. It's working for me, please provide a saved track of what your doing. Or exact steps so others can help. Make sure if using a axis mini stick, it has a little dead zone so it's not slewing the TGP around or away by itself. Re watch
  6. Under control options "Ui Layer" Bind the mouse buttons to HOTAS This is also where you set your VR recenter button. Under VR tab, untick the "use Mouse" I believe it is.
  7. Bind "Dodfight/ missile override" Also bind "Enable switch - Depress" Hold this Enable switch down and the aim9x seeker will stay with your view. Put this on enemy hear sound and fire. I also have bound Right MFD OSB 7 on HOTAS to change to aim9 or 120s in Dogfight mode. See me do that here Aim9x slave
  8. My understanding is you just put the enemy aircraft in the big circle and maddog launch (Make sure there are no friendlies around). No slave available like the aim9x. Edit "Dodfight/ missile override" You can TMS up while using the HMD (Radar on with ellipse) Put this on the guy and TMS up again to lock. This is like Slaving the radar then launch the 120 You are limited to the radar elevation (less that aim9x) If no time maddog.
  9. You want to keep DCS and the maps on an SSD or it will be very slow to load. The modules and other miscellaneous things take up little room so not really worth it. I guess you could symlink the maps to a different drive. This will be very slow on a mechanical drive and you may as well copy the full DCS accross to the mechanical drive. I recommend you get a new 500GB SSD and copy DCS to that, no need to download again. These new pc always have a very small SSD for windows, when I built my pc I added more drives just for DCS and steam.
  10. Seeing this was posted in the main area I was going to say we do have it already to try out. The FJ-17 is fun and the server I play on from time to time has PVP airbase tank battles. Using the G radar was able to find them coming and auto slave the TGP onto them. Then let off a few Laser rockets and cluster glide bombs.
  11. From a marketing perspective it makes sense to move on and build a variety of aircraft for the masses and I'm not sure how the licensing ED has would work here? If they got the extra info need for said upgrade / version would that be a new license to release?
  12. Sure, But you need to connect it using SATA to get the good throughput needed for a sim/game. So you'll also need power, not easy portable. 600 MB/s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA#SATA_revision_3.0_(6_Gbit/s,_600_MB/s,_Serial_ATA-600)
  13. I run at that rez 144hz Gsync 1ms also. But lock DCS at 60 to just smooth it all out. Works for me at max settings. Give it a go and see if you get small micro stutters, it is playable still. Just a bit annoying at times. Otherwise try the new framerate limiter in the nvidia control panel. https://www.ghacks.net/2020/01/06/geforce-driver-441-87-introduces-framerate-limiter/ Not sure if a better camera will help, perhaps try the different open software? It's a polling problem I believe. You don't want to be between these 30, 60, 120
  14. No need to trim the F/A-18 unless you become asymmetrical. I.E. You drop one bomb from only one wing and you are not symmetrical on each side. The only other time to trim is when landing and trimming to on speed. It takes a bit to get used to, but you point the plane to where you want it to go and that's it. When I first started flying the F/A-18 I started to try and trim it like flying the A-10C lol. These no need, just make sure to set a small dead zone so your stick is not messing with it and make sure the are no extra binds added in the control menu.
  15. You could possibly symlink to a folder on a different drive. An external usb drive is WAY to slow to copy from tho. Consider adding an extra SSD drive if you can, much quick to load from. Are you using an SSD drive now?
  16. I'm sure this new underlying tech that was setup will be use for many other things further down the line.
  17. Hi Trespasser, I do have Trackir and it's been great for many years and still going. I also have a backup DelanClip. This is basically a DIY done for you and works with all the different tracking software that's available. FaceTrackNoIR, OpenTrack, Free-Track and TrackIR Quite a few options. The gamer also comes with a ps3 eye camera ir filler removed. You can buy the camera separate (Build your own LED headset) Cordless Fusion led headset. https://delanengineering.com/shop/
  18. Well, been following what the Gov's around the world have been up to for last well, for a very long time now.... This sort of cements it once and for all, how convenient. This has been coming since the 2008 financial and now also this virus to blame it on? You cannot make this stuff up. Not that I'm into conspiracy. New Coronavirus Stimulus Bill In Congress Creates U.S. Digital Dollar https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonbrett/2020/03/23/new-coronavirus-stimulus-bill-introduces-digital-dollar-and-digital-dollar-wallets/#3327c32e4bea Below Nov 21, 2019 :smilewink: Oh a Crisis Simulation....On Digital Currency.
  19. Grab the Thrustmaster twcs Throttle when you can, it will make life much easier and more realistic. They have pedals available too.
  20. Hi Bob, Just open the DCS mission editor. New mission / map = Nevada Select the plane icon on the left side, place the aircraft over Nellis AFB. Using the drop down select the aircraft you want to fly. Using next drop down select takeoff form runway or Hot park etc. Skill = Set this to player (So you can fly, not the Ai) Save this mission AS (NTTR Free Flight etc) Other things you can do Change the time and weather Here is a video of placing many aircraft as clients in a mission, so you can fly all your aircraft in one mission. Hot, cold and air start. You don't need to do that, you can just use PLAYER as the skill. This will still show and give you an idea of how to place down the units in the editor.
  21. Practice just flying around first when setup on speed AOA Always set AOA level and wings level on the down wind only then leave it, re trim on the down wind level if you bolter. Trim the flight path marker with the E bracket then use NO pitch with the stick. This landing below is just an example, here you see me takeoff again, without touching the trim or stick and the aircraft go's right back to on speed. The aircraft will seek it (wants to be there)
  22. Well it depends on what you are doing in DCS. I like it locked fixed at 60 (Trackir), sure can go a lot higher, but I play on a very large dynamic server so I always relate to that and some eventually going to do that when they build a system. That's what I call really testing the system out at a smooth 60 fps and not budge under this at anytime with hundreds of units and pvp ground tank battles. I use max shadows, like the eye candy.
  23. The F16 is mostly slowed down by aerodynamic braking canopancho. Then a small amount of braking. Also make sure you are setup correctly for landing and not coming in to fast. These are the two commands I have set for the speed brakes.
  24. My system in sig does 60 fps stable locked @ 1440 max settings. You need something like a 2060, 2070 or 5700 with a 1080p monitor with high settings to hold 60 in DCS.
  25. I would have no problem getting an AMD CPU next. The problems are more with their graphic drivers. They may work good for DCS, many still play other games and sim's also. I'm not uninstalling and reinstalling driver versions so I can play those other sim / games I have on steam. If they get that sorted I'll think about it.
